Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Zach TheDane's topic in General Discussion
Well, growing up in church myself I was taught differently. Faith will always trump science; or so the preacher(s) say. Science will never prove gods existence as God will never that to happen. If so, then one of the basic principles of Christianity (faith) will fall apart. Granted I am on the fence now-a-days in regards to my faith, but that is beside the point.- 3,311 replies

As much as I love this picture of Luna, I wonder if I should use my main OC pony instead. Hmm...

How did the crystal ponies become crystal?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in Sugarcube Corner
All right, fair point there. My guess is that the ponies of Equestria were his priority; especially considering it was Celestia & Luna that had imprisoned him. Had he succeeded in defeating Twilight and stealing her magic, then he eventually would've made his way to the Crystal Empire. The Crystal Ponies, IMO, were just low on his priority list. Probably on level of, say...maybe the griffons as well. -
There really is no easy answer to that; and any answer given is likely to be too general. Yes, the internet could judge the fandom as a whole based on said vocal minority; but then how do we characterize those who are judging us? They very well could be the minority themselves inside the more silent majority who respect us while not really caring enough about FiM to comment. Examples? 1. A very close friend of mine who never understood the fascination for the show, but had respect for brines regardless. 2. A well known YouTuber by the name of Markiplier who, while not a briny himself, never says a negative thing about the fandom.

How did the crystal ponies become crystal?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Well, I am speaking of a time before even Nightmare Moon coming about; when Tirek & Scorpan had first ventured into Equestria and when Star Swirl the Bearded was still around, which was way before Cadence's time. My timeline is this: 1. Celestia & Luna banish Sombra; Sombra curses the Crystal Empire 2. Later Tirek & Scorpan venture into Equestria to steal pony magic, Scorpan has a change of heart and Tirek is imprisoned. At this time it is reasonable to believe that the brothers hadn't even heard of the Crystal Empire, IMO. -

How did the crystal ponies become crystal?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I would think they're just a separate; but lesser-numbered race of ponies. Even though the mane 6 did turn to crystal after the crystal heart did its thing, they couldn't automatically switch between different states like the crystal ponies could in the lead up to the crystal heart. That actually sounds about as good as anything else; in truth. -
movies/tv which modern cartoon do you like the best?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to RAGESTAR's topic in Media Discussion
Well, for me, that answer is easily FiM, but it's kinda unfair for me to say. I really don't have a lot of time to devote to other cartoons. I will not say they are bad or crappy, but I can't give them enough time in the day. Saying that I did like Dan Vs., before it was cancelled.- 94 replies

That is actually a fair point. Going back to my earlier post: 1. If we're going for my preference for an open-world or open-ish world game then maybe a company like Bethesda or Bioware could try it; though I doubt they'f have the interest. 2. If we're going the route of the platformed, then maybe someone like Sucker Punch or Insomniac Game would work. Really, games like Sly Cooper and Ratchey & Clank seem to fall in the same character & spirit as FiM IMO.

A fanbase rarely ever dies off. Granted if it grows big enough and the show or whatever it is based off of ends for whatever reason, it can and most likely will go through a contraction. A goof example that I can think of would be the original version of Battlestar Galactica from the 70s. It lasted only a season (not counting the short-lived 80s sequel series), but the fandom (small in comparison to Star Wars, Star Trek, and Babylon 5) was still there to support it. There were a few legit revival attempts prior to the remake series (Richard Hatch made a trailer, Glen Larson had his own ideas, and even Bryan Singer was contracted to direct a remake at one point), but in the end it was the fans that helped keep Battlestar alive. FiM's fanbase will live on; even if it does contract.

I always felt that is a shipping had occurred between any of the mane 6, then a TwiDash shipping was probably amongst the most likely. I don't know, but the bookworm & athlete seem to go together fairly well enough as they're different enough to compliment each other. Besides, this is so cute: TwiDash - Hearts and Hooves Day [sFM]

music Songs you're embarassed you like

Rihanna - Shut Up and Drive -
That was outstanding! Now, I am no music critic or analyst by any stretch of the imagination, but this really speaks to me tastes quite easily. Being a fan and avid listener of the likes of Rhapsody of Fire, Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, Fairyland, and Pathfinder, this isn't actually far from that sort of quality at all. Overall, GREAT!

Should Princess Cadance take in an apprentice?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to ManaMinori's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
My personal head canon with Luna is that Trixie is her apprentice...maybe akin to a secret apprentice ala Starkiller & Darth Vader. On the matter of actual apprentices, I think with Cadence it might be an issue of age & experience. Plus there are no guarantees she'll be like Celestia & Luna and live for thousands of years. -
Will there be another generation of MLP?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Like the US economy, things like these tend to go in cycles. They'll sell fine for a while, then taper off after while. As it stands, Hasbro is doing better than other business like the much maligned sport of IndyCar who can even give away seats at the various tracks it races at. Granted MLP might have to go through some tests, but if FiM ends up dying down in time Hasbro will put it in hiatus for a time then it'll likely come back strong if the marketing matches the culture. -
NOT Doing Hurtful Things to your Waifu
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Moved to Elsewhere's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I should find these silly, but some of these really make me feel somewhat strong emotions. That especially goes for the Luna & Celestia ones. I guess with them being older and more mature minded while going through their long lives without a significant other kinda helps bring that to the forefront. Luna~ -
My preference would be that of an open-world or somewhat linear RPG; something along the lines of Skyrim, Dragon Age, or the Witcher. My reasoning is that these forms offer some of the best examples of storyline, character development, and/or exploration in abundance with gameplay. However, if there were to be a 'high budget' game made based on the MLP:FiM license, then I would guess that the creators would go along the lines of a platformer; specifically something like Sly Cooper or Ratchet & Clank. They would focus on gameplay elements like puzzles, movement, and various uses of magic, and I think THAT might satiate the gamer market more effectively as far as MLP is concerned. Still, I want my Skyrim/Witcher/Dragon Age-esque FiM game! Of course, this wouldn't be bad either...

Perfect Equestria or Not Perfect Equestria?
Ashen Pathfinder replied to Bendy's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
How do you define 'perfect?' To me, perfect would be almost...robotic, or lifeless even. Like if a creator deity didn't give his worshippers free-will and instead ordered them to obey him and, therefor, there would be no crime. Of course that could be extreme, but a perfect world is one that is lifeless to me. I'll take imperfection because that is how we learn and grow and, IMO, that is much more fulfilling.
