  1. Hello Callisto! Bet you can't beat us this time. 4
  2. Yum! Bring on the oriental treats! Stroganoff?
  3. Samurai listens well as Kazas explains. "I see... There is a tale from my home land. There once was a mighty warrior who defeated a mighty dragon, but the dragon offered to share his powers with the warrior if he'll spare his life. The warrior agreed, and for a brief moment, these two beings were fused. The tale calls this fusion many different things, including soul infusion. However, the merger was too unstable. It took the warrior's life, and the dragon got away. Ponies use this tale as a warning to never tamper with power beyond one's control. Perhaps there was some truth to the myth after all..." Samurai pulls out an apple and puts it beside Kazas and Syuren. Seriously, what is with this Japonies pony and fruits? "Still, I see potential in him. If Lorec and Syuren are companions, then consider me one as well. I hope he makes a full recovery, and don't you go dying either." Samurai trots off for now. As he does so, he sings to himself a song. "Ringo kawai ya. Kawai ya ringo..." (Just gonna leave this here, just so you get an idea what he is singing. It's from a post-war Japanese song.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARB6jQu0dZs
  4. I've also been getting the Malware warning. It happens mostly when I go the Ask A Pony section in Beyond Equestria.
  5. The Long Goodbye, by Raymond Chandler. Well, the entire story wouldn't work if there was more than one death, so I think I'd be okay. I'd just stay close to the detective-for-hire anyways.
  6. Not all of them do. Not sure which college you go to... In the end, is the love you take REALLY equal to the love you make?
  7. Just so you know, despite my best attempts, I CANNOT control the dreams I have when I sleep. Once the dreams start to go back, it's a slippery slope. In my most recent dream, I was sharing a hotel room with my mother. Something went wrong at our house, like the air conditioning going out in the summer heat. We went to the hotel for only a day or two while the problem gets fixed. I didn't mind, but I didn't want to stay there too long. I wanted to get back home the second the repair guys give us the A.O.K. Well... First, the repair guys tell us they ran into some technical difficulties, so we have to stay two more nights. Next, my mother sees that the room is too messy, so we book a few MORE nights to hopefully get packed up again. Next, some of my family members start moving in with us because they heard the room was so nice, making us book additional nights. And then, my mother starts inviting STRANGERS to live with us as well! The dream didn't really end, I just woke up before it could get any worse.
  8. Naturally, Agririon's victory is met with mixed reactions. Most of the crowd and some of the competitors cheered for him, but others did not. His appearance alone can put many off. On his way back to the locker room, Samurai Equine crosses paths with him. They face each other in silence, but Samurai bows to him regardless before the carry on. Samurai takes a moment to put his gear back in its place. Seriously, how does he travel with all that stuff?! He isn't lifting it. He isn't using magic to transport it. You could decorate a house with all that stuff! When there is a free moment, Samurai goes over to Kazas with a smile. "Syuren was incredible! I have a new respect for him. Though I would like to know more about his fighting style..."
  9. Vectored it by hand. No sketch, no trace. Just looked at random pictures to get an idea of how I wanted it to look.
  10. I'm not sure I do anything, but I don't go crazy about the things I like. Heck, I saw every season when it originally aired, but I officially joined the fandom after S4. I can actually be a rather quiet, introverted kind of guy at times. If I enjoy something, then I'm perfectly happy sitting back and enjoy it. I don't need to reach out, I don't need to make fan art, I don't need to do ANYTHING! I'm happy just being the quiet guy at home, with a cup of tea, and his favorite TV show. But I do reach out because I love the friendships I can make, and I love being challenged to think in new ways by fellow intellectuals. Also, not gay, not a clopper, not a pedo, etc, etc... I can't say I've ever encountered an angry anti-brony or anything like that since I don't reach out that much, but if I did, I'd like to try and defuse the situation. Maybe reach out and find the real reason why they are upset. As another brony on Youtube once said, for all we know, they may just be misunderstood and want a friend themselves.
  11. Bad OCs? Hmm... It's mine, right? Mine is completely terrible... I'm sorry, every pony! I really tried. I knew 3 colors on the body were just too much, but I just didn't want it to be plain or boring! And then the armor, and... I'm sorry! (No, I'm not. I'm actually very proud of my work.) Maybe I'll submit him to that Tumblr page I saw some pages back, just to see what they'll say.
  12. Samurai Equine? 1. He's Japonies 2. He likes to wear armor 3. He's tricolored Other then that, not much. I really don't want to give him to many details. I want him to be a fun character, but not a Gary Stu.
  13. Oh yes, I do have a fear of failure. Not just failing others, but failing myself. But I don't let that stop me. There is a big, beautiful world out there waiting for all of us with fantasy and wonder around every every corner! We can't just let it pass us by. Nothing is truly over until we give up. And even if we fail, as long as we're alive, we can try again. And maybe it's not just failure we fear. Maybe we fear how others will see us or treat us because of our failures. But no one is perfect. Not us, not the people who dare to judge us. Instead of judging others, we should accept the fact that we are all unique and quirky in our own ways. That's not something we should be punished for, it's something we should encourage. There is nothing wrong with being ourselves, and there should never be anything wrong with that.
  14. Well, since Stancet is raising the bar on answers, so shall I! Looking back on ancient civilizations, before we had words like "Heaven", people commonly referred to afterlife as "Paradise". And without delving into any actual religion or their specific ideas of it, I believe that really is what heaven should be. A perfect, never ending Paradise. No sickness. No injuries or incapacities. No anger. No sadness. No turmoil. No more dying. Peace for the mind and soul, endless understand. Hopefully, everyone you ever knew or wanted to know, all family members and friends, they are all there. And it's a chance to start over for everyone. No more hate, no more judgement, all the sins of your previous life erased. You are now a much better person than you ever were, and life in heaven will always be perfect. However, the idea of heaven was later coupled with the idea of Hell, an afterlife for those who could not be saved. A land of never ending punishment for those who were sinful, evil, and never once remorseful. A place for the murderers, thieves, and deviants who never once try to reform or be a good person. Now, in our modern world, I think it's plain to see that not everything is as black and white as that. One could even say that if someone is truly "evil", it's the fault of the parents, family, community, and everyone around them for not doing a better job of raising this person or showing them how to life peacefully. But even so, there are some things that are still VERY hard to forgive, such as mass murder or brutality. In an abstract way, I do choose to believe in the idea of heaven. I want to. We're all going to die some day, and the idea of heaven is the only thing that gives me peace and maybe the courage to face it when it's my time. I'm sorry to all the atheists and non-religious people/non-spiritual people out there, but I just don't understand what comforts you when the thought of death comes up. You've explained what it's like scientifically, you've said what you think it's probably like, but I just can't find any comfort in that. I'm sorry, but I just can't. It makes life feel a bit more empty and hollow, as if there's no point in the grand scheme of things. -_-
  15. I like Fluffle Puff. I also want to cuddle her for endless amounts of time!
  16. http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/samurai-equine-r7058 Samurai Equine owns... 1. His armor 2. A home in Japon 3. ??? What can I say? He likes to keep ponies guessing.
  17. My mane OC is Samurai Equine. He is a unicorn. He is Japonies. What else do you need to know? http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/samurai-equine-r7058
  18. I can make room for two, but I'd prefer if you didn't eat in my bed, thank you.
  19. I'm seeing this brought up more and more around here and everywhere, and I keep seeing nothing but hate for fedoras. So I am just going to say this. I don't like or appreciate the hate. I think it is unwarranted. I think people need to break whatever bad associations they have with it and remember; it's just a hat. Fashion statements fall in and out style all the time. Very few things stop being in fashion permanently, and even those said things might still be worn by a few quirky people who might be able to pull it off anyways. That being said, I love hats. I want to own ALL kinds of hats! You name it, I want it. Top hats, hunting caps, hard hats/helmets, sombreros, berets, fez, deerstalker caps, rastacaps, fantasy hats, actual hats people wear regularly, etc. At least 1 of each, maybe more if I want a few other styles. I all ready own a cowboy hat, an asian bamboo cone hat, a godfather-style hat, an Ecuadorian panama straw hat, a safari hat, and yes... A fedora and trilby. And darn proud of it! My hats kick major butt! Yes, I know the difference between a fedora and trilby. Very few people do. Trilbies are the hats that LOOK like fedoras, sort of, and worn by the people who probably made it a "fashion no-no". I don't consider it a fake fedora or a fake hat just because it is mass produced, cheap, has a short brim, and comes in a number of styles. To me, trilbies are just a short brimmed hat that are easier to come by. Nothing more, nothing less. :comeatus: And yes, I try to wear the right fashion with the right hat. I try to wear a suit with a fedora, I try to wear casual clothes with casual hats, etc. However, I don't always have the money to just buy tons of outfits and neither does everyone else. In the end, I think we should all feel free to wear whatever makes us happy. And we should remember that it's not the clothes we should judge, it's the person wearing them. You can dress like a hipster, a moderate, a creative, a normal, or whatever. But a jerk is a jerk, a fool is a fool, people should be judged on the merits of their character only. Their clothes won't change who they are inside.
  20. In my experience, it's easier to have casual friends as an adult than it is as a kid. Kids can be cruel. Not only do they laugh at you if you mess up, but they'll probably bring it up again and laugh more if it still bothers you. It usually has to do with school settings or something similar. You're going to keep seeing the same group of kids over and over, so you'll eventually build up some kind of reputation. As an adult, I feel like it's easier to keep things casual. Most of us have hopefully grown out of our childhood immaturities. We're not bound to 1 location or the same group of people any more. People come and go out of your life. There's a bigger world to explore and we all have our own lives to live. If you're still making a big deal about things that only childish kids would care about, then you're the weird one, not the victim. But even as adult, some of the things you learned about friend-making as a kid can still be useful. You have to be weary of people who would rather leech off of you, use you as a scapegoat, and anyone who will use "friendship" as an excuse to get whatever they want while leaving you high and dry. Just because you have casual friends doesn't mean you need to let them get close enough to hurt or betray you. You kind of HAVE to make casual friendships if you're going to have coworkers, engage in team projects, or even work with a partner. Only get close with true friends.
  21. Yuck. A peanut butter, jelly, ham, and cheese sandwich?
  22. Oh. Good Morning, Link. ... Have you been traveling with The Doctor?
  23. That's what I meant. The PSA answer was a joke. The actual movie, Apple.mov, does kind of show the dangers of eating too many apples. And close! I was quoting Trigun.
