@@crazitaco As I said, you don't seem to understand Twilight as a character. You claim that Twilight's humility in season 4 isn't in character, but she's always been humble (Boast Busters). You claim that she doesn't have the flaws of previous seasons, but she still over-plans (Princess Twilight Sparkle), obsesses over books (Castle-Mania, Pinkie Pride, Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3), and loses it when things don't go as planned (Three's a Crowd, Inspiration Manifestation, Twilight's Kingdom). Are these flaws lesser than they were in the past? Sure. That's what happens.

Actually, that's exactly what character depth is. Funny how you mention things they've already gotten over. She was worried that a new title she was granted amounts to nothing. You complain about how Twilight is a lesser character, but don't show much knowledge about her character. Correct knowledge. Find proof that all decitions they made regarding season 4 or even one thing in season 4 was because of the fans. You see, you can't. Because it's horse-apples. News flash, these writers happen to be smart people. Maybe they just decided to take the show in a direction that some fans like. In fact, I have two pieces of evidence that proves that the writers are conducting NO fanservice. The Cutie Mark Chronicles hypes up Rainbow Dash's cutie mark story. This was something the fans wanted, but was written before they even knew the show had fans. Despite demands from fans, they did not undo Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle. I'll also be able to add them not retconning the destruction of Twilight's house, despite people making a petition to save a fictional tree. No, they are not doing anything just to please the fanbase. People who complained up and down about seasons 3 and 4 are still going to watch season 5. Why should they care what we think?

I'm working on constructing a show timeline and want to have some good baselines. I thought it would be best to start with the events from 1000 years ago and the rise of Celestia and Luna. Events underlined are cemented by information from the show itself. Italicized events are evident in supplementary material. Events that I have nether underlined or italicized are positioned by my speculation. Founding of Equestria Tartarus is created Celestia and Luna appointed Princesses Discord challenges Celestia and Luna and they take the Elements of Harmony to defeat him Lord Tirek fails to take over Equestria and sent to Tartarus Celestia and Luna confiscate the Inspiration Manifestation and hide it away in their castle Celestia and Luna become the duel monarchs of Equestria Star Swirl and Celestia explore the multiverse and discover a mirror universe King Sombra takes over the Crystal Empire and is defeated by Celestia and Luna Luna falls to the Nightmare Forces and becomes Nightmare Moon The EUP is formed Celestia continues to visit the mirror universe until Star Swirl seals the portal How is that? I think I covered all the major points.

Twilight has changed over time. That's called "character development". She stopped being snarky in season 2, because she figured out that was incredibly rude. She stopped jumping to conclusions because she realized that wasn't smart. All these changes are good things! If Twilight didn't learn from her mistakes, like you want, she would get nowhere in life. Twilight is a much deeper and more admirable pony now. She is wise and studious, but humble. She does have a tendency to worry about things she does have to and mope when things aren't going her way. So your claim that she is less complex holds no water! It's absurd nonsense. You sound like Joe Quesada trying to defend that trite One More Day. You are claiming that Twilight's character development has made her a lesser character, but taken no time to understand who she is in seasons 3 & 4. An excellent burn.

Discord does seem to like Twilight a lot. Maybe she reminds him of Celestia when she was younger, or even himself.

They are about evenly distributed, as far as I can tell. There are certainly more mares with speaking roles.
