The brainwashed thing is just a way to describe Sunset's sudden personality change in satire manner, that is the only thing that hindered her mostly perfect character story arc, especially if you read 'Fall of Sunset Shimmer' comic and take it as canon. When i first saw the Rainbow Rocks teaser, the 'Battle of the Bands' scene, i thought Sunset might be temptated by sirens but no, she just realized something wrong with them. Friendship Games gave us a glimpse of post-reform Sunset but its really small, and anyone can be scary when they mad anyway, ANYONE, so it doesnt mean anything. Her past is not today, it's ok, i guess, but i prefer a 'Every little thing she does' moment for Sunset but it will never come, Sunset is like an incorruptible angel now. When i saw Sunset and Starlight stand next each others in Mirror Magic, i see a well-beloved big sister and a former delinquent younger sister lol. Shimmer has some aura that overwhelm Starlight in every way but Glimmer can somehow manage to shine in some certain moments (shimmer vs glimmer). If you like the overall likable character, then Sunset is for you. Starlight is for you, if you prefer more complexity and dont mind her some negative traits.

I hope it will be in 'so bad, it's good' category. -
When you reform, you turn down your voice to show people who forgave you that you are nice About personality change, you cant just act like whatever your awful former self did under someone's wings who just welcome you at their glorious castle of friendship instead of throwing you into jail or doing local service, only Discord can do this because he's god so he has no bound. Mind you, Starlight isnt being Rebooted, she is being Restarted because her system was messed up with too many programs and background app that need to restart to work CORRECTLY again (I just used PC as metaphor just in case you might be confused). Post-reformation Starlight and Discord are interesting case, their habits still not change right away and struggle to fit the society, Fluttershy has to keep Discord in check and Twilight has to keep Starlight in check so they wont go back to their own ways. Twilight deconstructed her worldview and even teach her friendship and many healthy activities, how could she act like she was before? Ah wait, Every Little Thing She Does.....

For the sake of my sanity, i should not read this thread but curiousity is my problem, i cant avoid spoiler in internet, knowing better than being ignorant, i guess. I only have 2 seasons to spend with this show now? That's depressing, i feel like it not going to end that soon, nothing last forever, hope the show will end in satisfying way. It weird, season 6, 7 focus more on Starlight story arc, not mane 6, especially Twilight, who are supposed to be the main characters. Now there are 2 seasons left, i think they will wrap up some story arcs of secondary characters like Starlight, Spike, Discord etc then finish the series with the mane 6 or 7 if they still keep Starlight around. There will be a lot of 'filler' episodes, because mlp is not anime-heavy-story-arc kind, so how many episodes we got as 'plot thicken'? Season 3 was supposed to be the end of the show and yet, the episodes are almost fillers with few arguely meh episodes without any real progression beside Twilight ascension. I can talk shit to some long-running animes have gotten bad over time but at least they take time with their story arcs and when they ended, i felt like i didnt miss anything, can mlp do something like this, or it like a MMORPG with rich story and world-building suddenly end because it's not profitable anymore then people just shut down the servers? Anyway, just enjoy while it lasts, hope these remaining episodes will be good, if they are BAD..... let hope its not THAT bad. Random: if these news turn out fake and we got more seasons? I will donate this forum and EQD a lot of cash (more than 40 usd) if i got money.... lol -

mega thread Why you chose your user name.

My user name is my favorite character from Japanese visual novel, I always use that name my Steam acc, Discord, gmail , or anything after that series ended. -
There is one part of F.E.A.R : Persuaded Mandate scare the crap of me, there is a building with a soldier stand at the door, instead of going to kill him, i went to alley for exploring sake, i found a health kit on the trashcan, i took it and turn around then a ghost girl sudden appear... and my heart stops... That health kit is a trap, a hidden jump scare, fantastic gaming experience. Another freakout moment is one area of Doom 3. There are 2 ways, a bridge with monsters constantly throw fireball from afar and... a door lead to a dead-end with some ammunition. Instead of going to the bridge, i saw some bloody foot-print that lead to the door as if there was someone who leave there to lure me in. The foot-print appeared on the way just like someone who is walking before my eyes but i couldnt see her (i forgot to mention there was a woman voice said 'follow me'), when i came to the ammunition in end of the hallway, the foot-print suddenly turned around and went TOWARD ME, the scene turned red with baby crying sound and people screaming, holy shit. Then i picked up the ammunition and get the fuck out. Those hidden items are not worth my sanity. I am a goddamn fearless soldier with super reflex can take out a whole regiment and a badass marine went through a horde of demons with shotgun but i feel useless in those moments... They are good scary moment to remind me how not to take the alternative path... to pick some items...

My biggest problem with Starlight’s Village
Lambdadelta replied to ShootingStar159's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Fillies and colts who go out of their town by themself exist (like Cheese or Tempest) in Equestria. Those kids could be some kids who being isolated in their society so they left their town to find their own hay, instead of become some villains, they met Starlight, she showed them Equality is the only way. After Starlight society collapsed, they left the town to find their own hay again. That my headcannon -

Hard to care about the story if you dont even care about the character in the first place, but i wont argue about that. By a way, i sided with Starwirl over the first half of the story, when Starlight suggested that they should talk to Pony of Shadow, i was like "WTF Starlight, you cant just reform anything you see" . I guess Starlight need some target practice for a certain bug-horse queen. One tip for Starlight: To reform some villains, you need to know their backstory first, offer your hoof and make a random reform speech wont work. Dont blame everything on Starswirl, its Stygian faults for stealing, running away without explaination and seeking power from Eldritch Abomination to ease his inferiority complex. What is it? Why is one certain difference comics and the show speak about what's wrong with this show? Are comics better? I dont read them often. You know the show has more restraints than the comics, right!? Under some toy promotion agenda by a billion-dollar company, the writers still try to make some good things out of it, i think it is admirable.

Yes, it doesnt, i am not trying to make Twilight sound smarter, but it's definitely not much more stupid than two example that i stated above. Yes it would be a more interesting story than the current one but it doesnt make the current one terrible or anything, it just worse by comparison. The mane 6, the other mane 5 to be more accurate, they are NOT the main characters or drive the conflict, the story in the later half is about Twilight-Starlight/Starwirl-Stygian, the rest of the mane 5 and the rest of the Pillars are served as rainbow cannon heavy squad, like Twilight Kingdom, nothing new here. Not trying to justify this part or anything, just let you know that i realized the flaws of this finale just as much as people do but I speculate it in more positive note than spitting at its hard cold corpse and treat it like the first demon spawn the show has ever created. Because i enjoyed this finale, it didnt failed to entertain me. This finale just has some flaws just as much as some other finales/premieres and inherent some flaws that other Haber's works had. The problems with this finale is just like other finales, they crammed many cool stuffs in one package and sometime forget to use them all. The lack of mane 5's relevance could be a part of Haber's overlooked parts, he might be just busy to focus the true meat of the story and overlook some parts (seriously, there are more than 10 characters crammed into later half of the story). About the group of characters are just accessories to some main characters.... sound familiar, dont you? Why do i have some deja vu about this? Or these things are projections of some things that has repeatedly happen in the past? Season 2? Season 3? Season 4? Season 5? Season 6? Starlight role in this finale is moral compass, of course she is more right than other, friendship and forgiveness are superiority in ponies world, but her reasoning still be proved by the map, if not for the map, Starlight's optimism will be drowned in disappointment because violence still the most easy answer to most of conflicts. Like i said, you can pick any side of this episode based from your own moral definition, the map just make the answer less ambiguous. In the grander scheme, everyone are accessories to the map... I see many people sided with Starwirl and criticized Stygian and Starlight in moral conflicts. Being the mightiest wizard of Equestria make him a bit 'dickish' but still his reasoning is very reasonable, perfectly normal, like mane 6 treat Discord in S4, perfectly normal for people in his timeline. Stygian in Starwirl eyes is a thief, a monster that he even sacrificed himself just to contain him and now some silly unicorns release that monster? How should he treat them anyway? Starwirl is a bit dickish but not total ass. He behaved just like what i expected from his status. I think he's an OK old dude. random: some few people dislike Starwirl because he's not like his pre-legend of magic version.... hahahahahahahaha....... hahaha... comics are B-canon until Hasbro say otherwise, it not writers faults to write something not fit to your non-canon interpretation.... It happened to me sometimes...

Great finale, only thing which hold it back to be my top 2 favorite is the villain is weak (not the character, i mean he is mostly harmless in this finale no matter how dangerous this finale made him out to be). Twilight just too fond of her idol that bringing him back is worth the risk, hey look, the movie, why she followed Celestia stupid plan to find a Macguffin to defeat an army that can be defeated by a day or... why she has to keep the secret of her new alicorns magics away from her friend (and not even warn them about Discord betrayal) in Twilight Kingdom, i can describe these foolishness as Legendary Figure Obsession, Starlight has none of these crap, only figure obsession she has is a childhood friend, commissar Starlight come to keep you in line. Why no one realized reform Pony of Shadow is a thing? Mane 6 is so good as villain ass-kicking that they usually not even think about that option (that exclusive belongs to Humane 7) and reformed a gosh dang Eldritch abomination that could end the light of Equestria? A rational human (or pony) should think Starlight must be a fool, if not for the map, no one will take Starlight opinions seriously. The finale make everyone wrong so Starlight is the only one who is right? No, there is no right option, whether you banish or reformed the villain, the Equestria will be saved no matter what, reform option is just too risky and take more time. Starlight is right BECAUSE SHE GET LUCKY that the map come to confirm her theory or Pony of Shadow isnt being banished right away without any explanation if not for Twilight decide to make an action. Make sense right? Starwirl is an asshole, he just thinking like a normal human would think, that how humans dehumanizing his enemy for decades and he is a gosh dang Starwirl, he's always right. Stygian is a fool for not explain his plan for the Pillars and run away. However, some of you guys forget communication is a general problem of ponies that happened in TOO MANY EPISODES until now, some ponies really terrible as social communication, shutting themself in their own method. This finale is just good, no one is 100% right and 100% wrong, you can pick any side for your own moral definition. The only thing that isnt a creature which is 150% right is the map, it take a peak into the script and show the character the way it want them to be here. If not for the map, no one know what is the best solution at the time, so the map is OP, it always right, Please nerf it and keep everything ambiguous plz!

Decide to watch EqG: choose your own endings short series for new year. They are great, really fun, i cant stop grinning
. The humane 7's chemistry is just amazing, make me feel envy a little bit (I AM LOOKING AT YOU, THE 'MANE 7'
, just after 2 seasons, you guys just make Starlight like Twilight her own personal friend and the only 'mane 7 chemistry' you did is Starlight mind rape her friends, the false promise of S5 ending song sequence keep is getting worse now). After Legend of Everfree, i lost my interest in EqG franchise, but look like all these shorts (including special, summertime, mini-series) make me invest in EqG once again like Rainbow Rocks did to me. I wonder if they ever make EqG movie again
, will it good like it used to be? or they think shorts are better option now... The Pony of Shadow has been banished ... i wonder where it will go... 5th EqG movie, perhap?

Happy new year, you guys. Let hope 2018 will be another great year of PONIES.

Of course, i still care about them, still looking forward for their new episodes. I have more than the mane 6 to care about but that doesnt mean i want to dismiss them or something (who really want to dismiss the mane 6 anyway??! That's just silly).

Season 8 Waiting Thread (Spoilers)
Lambdadelta replied to FlareGun45's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Nah, it's totally impossible for Twilight to be an evil pony in the first place, UNLESS she is an incarnation of ancient evil which erase its own memory to live among ponies and now she remember who she was *BAM* plot twists!! Twilight is Princess of FIENDship. Hasbro finally makes a move, huh?! At least, it shows they still care about the show materials, toys are not everything afterall.- 534 replies

What if the Season 7 finale ended this way?
Lambdadelta replied to Plonkett's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Good material for fanfics, i should check Fimfiction, there might be some alternative endings of this finale. For seriousness, this is FIM, dont expect it to be some drama show, ending with some dramatic plot twists that make you want to punch the screen. The ending is good... if FIM is other show, like Star vs, or Steven Universe, i dont expect an ending like this from the show so i wont be disappointed and worship fanfic gods. The canon ending is fine, the only problems with it is reformation a bit tiring at this point (after the movie) and Stygian is not very threatening as a villain, the mane 6 beside Twilight blast villains away for breakfast and never do something called 'reform a villain while he/she is not being ass kicked', they never do a decent job with Discord anyway, only Twilight actually reformed 2 villains and had some personal connections with them by herself (Tempest and Starlight), she really live up to her title, Princess of Friendship. Edit: I forgot to mention Fluttershy but that just because Discord actually like her in the first place and until now, she is the only one he actually give a buck about. Twilight reformed 2 villains who go against her completely. -
spoiler What's your opinion about season 8?
Lambdadelta replied to FirePuppy's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I just watched two of these leaks (ep 8 and 13) but from what i heard, people really like these leaks even without background sounds, so the season looks very promising, from the visual alone, they are great to watch. What i have seen so far are not that great, ep 8 is super meh (it featured my most favorite character hurt it even more) and ep 13 just look interesting at least. I didnt see the rest because the lack of sound effects may affect my enjoyment (like ep 13) so i will wait for official release. The best part of Season 8 so far is the new opening. -
