Season 3 is never bad, but if you think it as the last season of the show, its terrible way to end any show.

I never feel like she belong to the mane 6 in the begginning, Starlight is more like independent character like CMC.

What do you expect from the show about colorful horse learning about friendship? A Gainax ending? Think about the children, you guys, what difference between kids show and adult show even they are put in same settings?! Kids shows have happy endings Yeah, the reformation is meta now, i know people frustration, reformation is the most effective tactic available of ponies now, if they keep doing that in S8 finale, it would be too predictable. It really weird that the movie has reformation a few months ago before S7 finale which had reformation as well...

They dont have to. People can love a villain just as much as hero while still rooting for their downfall. My friend bought none and he's Spike fan, but you can dismiss him because he didnt get his opinions to the forum. During S6, i thought there are billions of you in the internet, i was paranoid a little bit. I seriously thought she will be removed in S7 premiere... I saw many people rejoiced in EQD when they thought she would be removed... These kind of topics can keep going because some people care, and of course its internet, i dont even know who you are anyway. I subscribed a lot of mlp youtubers (over 20) that generally like her, being ok with her, or even downright fanboying, suddenly remove her should get their reactions, of course its internet again but those people have showed their faces and expressed their opinions for years so... Starlight still a fictional character anyway but humans are capable of sympathize with fictional character and they can be a bit crazy sometime so... If Starlight leave the show with a bang? Awesome, it just too much we could ask for. Of course, i knew you just express your opinions. Actually, your points about Starlight has many similarities as mine, it's just our conclusion is different. I have to say Starlight character is very tricky to write ;). I have a little concerns about her in S8... Hope i am just overthinking it...

Maybe my definition of good character could be different from yours, that why we saw the same things but we interpret thing differently. Point out some flaws doesnt not mean I am saying its bad, but you can take them as your ammunition as you please. How about my friend? He watched pony, he enjoyed it but he doesn't a buck about this fandom drama any slightness, he doesn't consider himself a brony, he can hate the episodes but he doesn't outright hate any character and go around bad-mouthing them, he never nitpicking the show, he doesn't pick any side of the spectrum because its a waste of his time. In the end of day, that guy just watch this cute show, have a good day. Neutrality to its finest? All this guy do is asking innocuously "where the next episode?" awww, I want to be that guy sometime, not try to come up any speculation about some episodes that not even aired and expect the worst out of its or just expecting too much from it. You and I are stucked in the other ends of the spectrum... Arguing about Rarity being a bad horse only work during pre-S4, it just an out-dated argument that not attract many people nowadays, it belong to the museum now, you get nothing from that anymore. Starlight debates are still very 'fresh', I guess, it still didn't get past its expiradate date yet, enjoy it before you get bored. People can like the characters for many specific reasons, relatability (people can identify themselves to the character), coolness (they have no depth, they are even cliché as heck but they kickass and that's all matter), admirable (the characters are someone you can look up to), well-constructed (this is debatable, because some tropes work for some people), thought-provoking (some people just like complexity) or they are just fun to watch anyway. Some characters just work for some people, if whether her characters are bad or not was a fact, then we wouldn't be having this conversation at all. All I could say is S6 gave me many concerns about this character future, but now, I just feel much better. Any Starlight debate threads feel like a paradox to me

Starlight is never a bad character to begin with, it just some of her writting directions are not very clear to me. S6 is supposed to be focus her post-reformation character and her status as the mane 7, but she absensed most of the time unless the plot called for it, unlike Sunset, they want Sunset to be humane 7 and we can see it through Rainbow Rocks, Starlight didnt even interact with the mane 6 beside Twilight (heck, the final song sequence in S5 finale is so fake) and mind control them. Starlight become friend with Trixie is one of the most interesting things of season 6 that build up for the finale as well, the problem is, do they want mane 7 or a new mane 6 Starlight edition? What do they really want? Season 7 just fix Starlight story arc a lot, she finally being helpful for the group, she interact with more characters, she finally appeared a lot in episodes where she wasnt the main character (thanks god), her impulsive actions finally be called out bluntly (thanks Thorax), she finally solved the problem even without magics and didnt just take all the screentime of other (Fame & Misfortune, Shadow Play), FINALLY! She just downright amazing in S7, her popularity rised during S7, even some people who used to hate her become neutral, even downright like her. Starlight problems are not her character, the character itself is good but the directions they want to take her are my concerns, even now, i still ask the same question to myself "what are they going to do with her?".... .......The 7th Element of Harmony is my guess.

I dont treat some 8-year-old kids as the true fan, they are just very large 'customers'. Kids can enjoy anything but only older viewers can make a big deal out of it. For me, we bronies are the majority fan of this show who truly passionate about this show and let people know about it, we are the true face of this show, small kids are just the majority 'income', the driving force of the show's longevity.

Flurry is cute, she adds more dynamic to Sparkle family, you have to admit her existence develop Shining and Cadance character more than ever (Once Upon The Zeppelin). However, story-wise, she is unnecessary additions of the show, her birth gave us very interesting lore about Alicorn but they just dropped that plot and she is just no better than Baby Cake.

Like i said above, dont expect Starlight suddenly become a 100% nice pony in the next few episodes like some certain rushed reformed villains who suddenly become nice guys instantly for the sake of the show's restraint. Starlight in ELTSD is her best example of how her bad habits wont go away easily and thanks god, she learned how not to use magics for your bidding (she finally make tea cakes by recipes Pinkie gave her and not by instant magic). Messing up and learning are what make Starlight Glimmer, she was a messed up invididual for sure, that why she need friendship to fix her. Invite your invaders who enslaved you to your party in the same day is very... interesting, no, no, i am not talking about Tempest, her heroic actions are enough but Storm King soldiers?! Some people already debated about Starlight being forgiven even before ELTSD happened, her topics are always controversial until this day. I dont see any thread debate about Tempest and her crime against her own kind, she only becomes good because she get her ass-kicked by a irony that her philosophy is right all along: you shouldnt trust people and being saved by Twilight. When Starlight saw the wasteland, she already know she fucked up and she finally gave up herself after a bit of denial, why some people overlooked that and keep attacking her character until they got more ammunition that called ELTSD?! I dont try to compare who is the worst but the way people treat those 2 events are more like 1 vs 100. Random: if it was Discord, i expected some 'its ok because he's Discord I wonder if Larson's darker route of Make New Friend but keep Discord turned out to be official, what people reactions to that?! I will never know.

I dont want it to end anytime soon but it's not up to my decisions anyway so i just keep watching the new episodes like i normally do.

I personally dont want it to end anytime soon because i think there still many things to explore in this world, it just writers cant use it to its potential, there are still many missed opportunities, wasted potential. However, its not up to my decision to decide whether this series could go on or not, all i do is keep watching the next episode until there nothing left. Doing petition is just a waste of time, just wait for the next episode and watch it.

Just remade a better version of S1 premiere is good enough, make Nightmare Moon more threatning like her S4 premiere counter-part, introduce the mane 6 properly and let them have their spotlight, introduced the Canterlot (like the movie) then introduce Ponyville (mane characters home), then for the sake of new audiences, INTRODUCE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY. If you think it isnt awesome enough, let Nightmare Moon invade Canterlot by her Bat Ponies army, the eternal night, the battle of Sun & Moon, and 'Taste the Rainbow' moments with flashy effects, then we got a great movie without some unnecessary world-building that overwhelm the new audiences and enjoyable for old fan who hated S1 premiere... it is enough for me.

People just try too hard to apply human standards to pony standards and they become obsessive to see their own reality applying in this over-optimistic utopia where anypony can have a chance to earn forgiveness for their mistakes. Starlight realized her mistakes then make amend for it and she just get better in S7, even Thorax called out her bullshit, that's great right?! Starlight is a flawed character, making mistakes and learning is what she is, people can make mistakes over time and their learning progression can be different, dont expect she 'get over it' in one episode, she's not a robot, fixing people is not easy. Ponies are too forgiving? We already knew that, its the show nature, i expected some realism just as much as people do but I accept the show's optimism (dont worry guys, they still banish/kill some few terrible bad guys of the show, just pretend Sombra comic didnt exist). Random: Why i didnt see any 'Should Tempest be punished for her crime against her own kind' thread?

Maybe i am the only who think Starlight is the one who are capable of doing something like this as well as Twilight, she can see through Twilight stress and steal the orb by herself to help Twilight but seeing Princess of Friendship did something like that herself is more intriguing, afterall its the point of the movie. Anyway, dont feel bad, Starlight still has a bug-horse to reform, just let her rest a little bit

That why i am even more skeptical about the whole mane 7 that they're trying to accomplish in the show, they even put Starlight and Trixie have fun together, so at least they aware of S6 but they dont even bother let Starlight help Twilight anything in the movie or just anything useful in general (even Derpy will die for Twilight and Party Favor has dialogues) and they called this movie the S7 sequel? What a joke! That how they do the mane 7 in the show, really half-baked unlike EQG, or there is no mane 7 in the first place.

Tirek is much more threatening than Storm King, he's smarter, he's stronger, and even get a proper backstory. Tirek is just as ruthless as his G1 counterpart, and he has one redeeming quality too, he keep his promise to Twilight, take her magic and release her helpless friends, if it was Storm King, he would kill all of them, i think Tirek used to be a honorable but after being betrayed by his brother, he become more manipulate. Storm King's personality is more funny, but we got Discord for that, and Discord is much more powerful. Storm King is the weakest villain of the series he is one of the weaker parts of the movie, he is just a lesser and goofy version of Tirek, hell, even Imaginary Daybreaker is much more threatning and entertaining than that guy.

The show is far from perfect, it just has flaws just as much as other show. Not every episode is amazing, even few of them are rant-inducing and i can be a bit harsh sometimes but most of them are great, and even the bad ep has great quality like animation ,V.A, soundtrack etc. I rate it 8.5.

If it's good, then i will keep watching, even it's not the same mlp we know, we can like many things for different reasons. Hasbro knows about our brony existence, it's not like they will revert back to their dumb G3.5 just to neglect us.

No need to sorry or anything, it's the perfect reaction of someone who first watch this show, I actually despised this show and teased my friend for liking this show for months and now I am obsessed to this show more than that guy Now, I am reformed , I love the show and the community, they are awesome. The show is far from perfect, but to me, it's the only western cartoon that I am actually dedicated for last 3 years.

They are intriguing, that why classic Disney always has better villains compare to their current ones, they are the great physical obstacles for our protagonist Many people complained about reformations of the show nowadays, it's nice to see something for change. He might not be the most horrible villain but he is the only villain who received the most gruesome death of the entire show while trying to catch our off-guard protagonist (He like Gaston in Beauty & The Beast, not very threatening villain, but receive the gruesome death). Complete Monster + A Disney Death is the best combination
