    I'm changing the topic! What do you guys think of Rainbow's (and the other Mane 6's) mane styles in S5E7? I LOVED Twilight's and Rainbow's, but Pinkie's was a bit different than I'd expect it to be. I'm sure everyone noticed the different blue of Rainbow's hair at the Gala. What do you think of that? It was a shock to me! Actually I think her overall color scheme was perhaps different, like she was darker or under shadow the whole time we saw her? How would you feel if they suddenly made that the default color scheme for RD?

    Honestly, they're ponies. I'm pretty sure ANY adult pony could harm a human quite easily. Although they are pretty small if we base them on the EG dimensions

    Haha- He took the first trumpet's suggestion that we jump into 20 minutes of prep time without tuning and we ended up just never tuning! It sucked. For everyone: I am open to suggestions for songs that should be arranged! I'm actually having a little trouble finding songs that fit. I'm sure no one wants to hear a swing version of "Hop Skip and Jump"! (or does anyone...?)

    I haven't actually decided ona final key, so right now it's in C. I'm thinking something like Bb... since I need to be able to hit these high notes on trumpet. Do you have a key you work best in? And hey- good luck at that festival. I went to a competition with my jazz band and for some reason we played EVERY piece far too quickly and we sounded terrible. We didn't even tune beforehand!!

    Hey there, Ursa! If you think you could find suitable recording equipment within the next couple of weeks, I'd definitely like you to give a shot. It's a pretty sweet arrangement, although it is HARD, in my opinion. On a 1-10 scale, what playing level would you consider yourself? (10 being being professional, 1 being can't play)

    Alright, so after a several hours of work, I've NEARLY completed my arrangement of "Winter Wrap Up". It's not quite the way you'll know it- as I've put a bit of a personal spin on it overall, but it keeps a sort of core of the original song. If anyone wants to get in, I've got open spots for GOOD jazz saxophones players of all flavors, and trumpet! Otherwise I'll synthesize the saxes and play all the brass myself, and everyone can hear this awesome arrangement!

    Yeah, but... that means her character development is BASICALLY over. She's pretty much perfect now. That means the show will end soon.

    I think she HAS become a bit too MUCH of a leader for her own purposes of being a student... SHe doesn't seem as nerdy any more which was really charming because I know I could relate to that a bit more. I still like her for sure, but I do think she needs some sort of tarnish. Otherwise, she'll be Equestria's equivalent of Superman: all-powerful, but having to face some imaginary, self-induced conflicts.

    Mozart's Horn Concerto in D - I found out about this one through while playing the racing MMO Crew, and then found out a guy gave it to me on CD at a yard sale last summer

    Fluttershy.... she SO boring and weak... For some reason I just can't find myself liking Luna, either. She seems like a third wheel a lot of the time, and her voice is weird to me (being an accentless, 'purer', more powerful version of Rarity's, of course, who I actually adore)

    I think right at 11 or 12 is good. They're old enough to be allowed to make decisions on their own (as strangely as I phrased that), but come on- they clearly aren't teenagers. Or I suppose maybe (if headcannon is correct, that Scoot is the oldest and Sweetie Belle is the youngest) Scootaloo could be the 13-14ish tomboy "bad" influence (though not really), AB is 12 and SB is 11-12ish. So yeah, Definitely not under eleven, if you ask me.

    Lol, yeah. Trombone is my first instrument, so that was nice to see! Someone on a brass forum brought up that the trombone is seen as just just a 'silly', sort of a gag instrument, though. I guess the visual aspect and glissy/slurry sound makes that true, and that's why they used it

    There IS magic that can make Earths and Unicorns walk on clouds though- maybe they've got a mass-transformer machine... I feel like it'd look like one of those walk-thru metal detectors you see in airports.

    I'm certain they've got methods to keep it in place. They can create massive wind currents just with their wings, and I also feel like thier magic plays a part in it. I agree that Cloudsdale couldn't possibly be weather control for ALL of Equestria... I wonder what the other skytowns are?

    I always figured Cloudsdale pretty much ALWAYS stayed within a few km of Ponyville, given that it provides the weather and all. About how big it Ponyville? Unless Cloudsdale provides UNIVERSAL weather for all of Equestria, I'd imagine it doesn't leave Ponyville's borders?

    I wanna rename this topic something like "Confirmed: Pinkie is NOT a self-serving egotist" I tend to have a narrow mind when I'm analyzing characters. This series has been the first in which I've really dug deep into why characters behave the way they do, and I certainly only want to see what other think about our favorite characters. Sorta, playing devils advocate, really.

    Oolright, ya guys got me! I think I just personally feel like I don't KNOW her well enough to assess who she is, and more importantly in this case, what MAKES her act the way she does. I've addressed in anther thread how she comes off as being /just/ a comic relief for the majority of her on-screen time. But that's just a theory. A PONY THEO- okay I'll stop

    I think that's a what the community fears... Essentially taking a half-baked character and filing her out, and then seeing her re-characterized in the show if she were reintroduced.

    definitely make a splash here if you have any comments.. I think the points been made by what written below! ---- Would anyone agree with me that Pinkie is a bit of an egotist? We can break it down into a few points: - She is constantly looking to have her wants served; that is, if it's made of sugar or sounds fun, she's interested, and otherwise she doesn't take interest. - She doesn't seem to help anyone in any way. Her purpose is to make others happy, but I get the impression that other being made happy is PURELY side-effect of her doing things to make HERSELF happy. - She is unable/unwilling to function well (or at the norm) in most social environments. Not that this means she's an egotist, but it may point to something. Let's be honest. She does a LOT of stuff that she shouldn't. I think it's not that she doesn't have the intelligence to make good decisions... Clearly she HAS that. I just think she mostly lives to serve herself. Opinions? Rebuttals?

    Ehh, she written the way she SHOULD be an she serves exactly the purpose she should. I think she's written perfectly for an uppity, self-adoring high-class bully. I think Silver Spoon should be a little bit more of a foil to her though, because I feel SS may not be intrinsically evil, or at least maybe the two could have a little more contrast as characters. SS barely gets any good lines, even.

    I think the reason for that is mostly because they HAVE a personality that's implied and the community doesn't seem/feel ALLOWED to mess with parameters that have been we for a character by the power that be. When I first saw Call of the Cutie, I actually thought Sweetie Belle and Scoot were just gonna be background fillies (I was very new to MLP). What if the community had applied huge headcanons to them only to have their visions crushed by how the show portrays them? At least that's what I figure is the reason. Background ponies give an actual canvas that ISNT gonna be filled at ALL by the writers of the show ^^( To clarify, Twist wasn't really a background pony, in my mind, since she had actual lines and served a bit of a purpose, and was named already)

    I'm surprised season 3 gets as much hate as it does. For me I think season 2 had overall the fewest I'd want to go back and watch. I think season 1 and 4 were best behind the current season, but then I didn't ACTUALLY wait a year between seasons... I jumped in a month before this season started
