I have far too many to list, but that's not why I'm posting here. I just had some tips I'd like to share. As mentioned before in this thread, there are codes on the bags that let you know what's inside (the codes can be found at strawberry reef). I found the surprise element to be part of the appeal too. And getting a repeat of one I already had wasn't a big deal as I have a niece I can give them to. However if you want to keep the element of surprise but don't wish to purchase ones you already have, I found a solution. I write the codes of the ones I have purchased on a piece of paper I keep in my wallet, then when I see some blind bags I compare the codes and only purchase the ones with codes that aren't already on my list. Then its still a surprise. If there's one or two that I must have (for instance, I had a Snips, so I really needed a Snails to go with him) I also have a need it list. Next tip is for the Breezies. Despite the fact that that is among my least favorite episodes, I decided to get all three of them. Anybody who has these knows that they won't stand up. Here's how I solved that. I attached a piece of monofilament to them, and the other end to the bottom of the shelf above the shelf that I display the other blind bag figures on right above Fluttershy. So it looks like they are flying over Fluttershy. Hope these tips help.

Yes, Target has some exclusive line of all the CMC. It's called something like wild style or something. They have weird animal print designs running up their back legs. It looks horrible, but could probably be rubbed off with some acetone. Had the Scootaloo one in my hand last week, then traded it out last minute for the Funrise five inch Derpy mini plush (no regrets).

Five years in, and missed episode opportunities?

"Sonic Rainboom" was exactly that. Rarity was so distraught at the thought of her friend Rainbow Dash having to go and compete with Fluttershys weak ass cheering that she not only insisted that Twilight figure out a way to get her there, but volunteers to be the guinea pig for an untried spell. Later, when Rarity tries to upstage her, Dash dose'nt even care. And she is more happy that she rescued her friend than the fact that she did a sonic rainboom. But that was all the way back in saeaon one. And I would still like to see an episode with just those two on an adventure to expand on that (kinda like Pinkie and Dash in (Lost Treasure of Griffonstone). And back to the OP, as others have said, a Celistia and Luna episode is long overdue. As is Starswirl being in an actual episode. A flashback with the two sisters and Starswirl is the biggest "missing episode opportunity" that I would like to see reconciled. -

Dude, do you not even see how brilliantly you answered your first post with this?! Sunset would Bethe princess of humility. And who better to guide her to this title than Princess Luna? And the real deal, as you stared, is that she wouldn't accept the position. It's the very epitome of everything that the princess of humility represents. And here's the thing that just wraps it up so perfectly as a co-princess with Twilight. Sometimes admitting your mistakes can be the first step to creating friendship. Sure, friendship comes easy when elements of loyalty, generosity, honesty, kindness, and laughter are there. But when there is a dispute, showing humility and admitting you were wrong can be the beginning of a friendship. "It takes a bigger person/ pony to admit their mistakes...". Step one; admitting your mistake. Step two; forgiveness. Step three; establishing trust. That's Sunset! Then it goes to Twilight with the friendship and the magic. Humility is macic too.

Arimaspi's death: Accident or foul play?
colt .45 replied to Buck Testa's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Going all the way back to "Griffon the Brushoff" for this one. In the beginning Pinkie was looking for Rainbow Dash to prank Spike by scaring him with thunder and lightning. Dash made this happen by jumping up and down on a storm cloud. We know that pegasi can walk on, push, pull, and otherwise manipulate clouds. Later, when Dash and Gilda are racing, we see that Gilda can stand on clouds. This leads me to believe that griffons have similar weather manipulation skills as pegasi. That bolt was an aimed attack at Arimaspi. To real question is why didn't the lightning ground to the tall thing holding a piece of metal. -

Easy, I'm a male, hence the colt part, and I'm fourty-five years old. And I don't plan on changing my user name after my b-day, because I still like guns and malt liquor.

OK, I watched the whole thing. First of all let me say I don't watch any of the reviews or analyzers. I just don't get the appeal. I'll try to explain what I think is going on, but it may not be any less confusing than that mess of a video. He's saying that he is not nor ever was a fan of MLP and that his whole year long stint as an analyzer was an elaborate hoax that he brilliantly planned out, and like the pro wrestlers he seems to worship, he was playing the part of the "heel" or bad guy. He's not nearly as talented, funny, entertaining, or brilliant as he thinks he is. I can't tell if the bravado and arrogance is him "acting" in a pro wrestler persona, or if his head is actually that far up his own ass. He seems to be thinking that the the audience is too stupid to realise how clever he is, (which by the way, is exactly what a pro wrestler would say) and that is the reason not enough people watched his stupid you tube show. My take on it is that he has been reviewing/ analyzing various things (video games, wrestling etc.) On you tube for quite some time either as a hobby to feed his attention whore ego or as some sort of delusional career. Either way the subjects of his reviews/analysis are all pop culture things with a built in fan base. I take it that with the decline in pro wrestling's popularly he was looking for a new fan base to preform his low end schtick for, and realising that MLP had a large following, jumped on that. The reason the video is confusing is the sheer length of it. Which just goes to show that editing is just one more thing that he's not as good at as he thinks he is. His own ego got in the way of realizing that at least an hour ( if not more) could have been cut. But he couldn't get past "this is all so brilliant, I can't leave this part out". The old adage "if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with bullshit" comes to mind. So to summarize, basically he said I planned this whole elaborate thing out, and you fell for it. Therefore I am an evil genius, And you are all stupid for falling for it. See, that didn't take an hour and fourty-five minutes to say. Then again, I'm not under the delusion that I'm trying to entertain anyone. With that said, I'm never clicking on another link to a video again!

...or perhaps Twilight and Cadence are "baby" alicorns. It's difficult for us to judge the age of creatures that have lifespans so much longer than what we comprehend as "a long time" by comparison to our lifespans. Like it would be reasonable to measure my driveway with a yardstick, but us trying to comprehend the lifespan of creatures that live for millennia, is like trying to use a yardstick to measure the distance from NY to LA. As for Spike, in "Dragon Quest" he showed more maturity than the feral dragons that were described as being teenaged. He is also given responsibility beyond what would be expected of either a baby, or a child. Being left home alone, cooking/ using the stove/oven, petsitting, those are all things that would be totally inappropriate to let a child much less a baby do. So by chronological dragon standards he is a baby, by pony standards, his maturity is somewhere between older than the CMC, but younger than the mane six. What we were given about a dragons size (which they refered to as "growing up") in "Secret of my Excess" only makes this more confusing.

Brand New 100th Episode Trailer!
colt .45 replied to ThatOneComrade's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
First of all, yes, the hype has been doubled! The part about Vinyl and Octavia living together being canon. I don't know how "canon" the trading card sets are, but yesterday one of my friends sent me the metal lunch box with Princess Luna on one side and Night Mare Moon on the other side. Anyway it was full of old trading card packs (which I don't collect) and one of the cards (copyright 2012) has Vinyl and Octavia on it and in the little bio on the back it states that they are room mates. It also says "will they ever perform a duet together? Only time will tell" -
spoiler Vinyl Scratch's canonical characterization (so far)
colt .45 replied to Dark Qiviut's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I'm pretty sure the government isn't what is keeping voice actors from any show from participating in unofficial outside projects depicting the same character. No, it's a private contract, between the voice talent and the studio that owns the character. The voice actors agree not to use the voice to depict the character, which is owned by the studio, in media not approved by the studio. They're not just doing it to be dicks. They are protecting their property by having control of how their character is being depicted. I also think Jessie is making the right decision here. While having a credit on a show like MLP would probably be a nice thing to have on a resume, how often would they actually use her to voice Vinyl? Once, maybe twice. Would it be a whole days work? Would she have to join aa voice actors guild? Then she'd be paying dues, and not be getting much work.- 19 replies

spoiler Vinyl Scratch's canonical characterization (so far)
colt .45 replied to Dark Qiviut's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I prefer her to be mute. I mentioned in some other post last week "Pon3 speaks with her hooves" what I failed to mention was that was a reference to an old LL Cool J song (I can't remember which one, its on the one with "can't live without my radio" might even be that song) anyway, right before the break LL says "Cut Creator (that was LLs DJs name) speaks with his hands" then Cut Creator proceeds to do an extended scratch sequence. I also have a DVD of a Fatboy Slim performance on Brighton beach where he communicates with the audience by writing on cards with a sharpie, and holding it up to a camera, for it to be seen on the video wall behind him. Deadmou5 dose'nt speak, Daft Punk dose'nt speak, DJ Pon3 dose'nt speak. I think it makes perfect sense for her to be mute. I don't think I've ever heard anyone ever say to a DJ " shut up and play music". However, I have heard that yelled at musicians on stage.- 19 replies

Perhaps they had some Dragon DNA and genetically spliced it into the egg of another species. Jurassic Park style. This would also explain why Spike isn't like other dragons we have seen. As far as Twilight hatching said egg. Maybe the test wasn't supposed to see if she could actually hatch the egg, and was a test to see how she handled failure. The egg was thought by the testing board to be un-hatchable, but then Twi went and hatched it. That would explain Princess Celistia statement that she had never seen a unicorn with Twilights raw magic ability before. Then Twi got her cutie mark and Celistia recognized it as the symbol she had seen on the tree of harmony, and knew that Twilight was the chosen one.
