    I know I'm late here, but thanks for putting me in the Sparkle Squad! Belated happy birthday to MLPF and all of my friends! I'm very grateful to what Silky has done for the site and how she's helped lots of people, myself included, feel a greater sense of being part of a team! :izzy-shine:

    Ideas for Make Your Mark Sequel Series Title

    What would you guys like a follow-up series for Make Your Mark to be called? Posted an idea I had on another site...

    Yeah, that's what I feel would be a good title, Show Your Spark, something I shared along with potential titles for arcs MYM could be split into. Also came up with another one before that, "Search for Skyros", a title I felt would be good for a series about Sunny and her friends journeying to Skyros to find out more about the alicorns. What do you guys think would make for a good sequel title and what would your vision for a MYM sequel focus on?

    what a lot of people loved about FiM like that FiM was good at creating the feeling of a living world with both characters that were immediate background to the Mane characters, as well as a broader living world in which the characters lived. Berrow and G5 are more character-centric - the world clearly bends to the characters. If you start thinking about the immediate background chars then they become ghost-like beings with no personality, mutely waiting for the mane characters to do things before going about their lives D: like living ponnequins!

     

     

     

    I do completely understand why it doesn't appeal to everyone despite how much I've stuck up for it. However, regarding background characters, G5 is actually known well for bringing background characters up to the spotlight. Jazz? Rufus? Onyx? It's only been two years, and those characters have already made a big name for themselves through things they actually say and do in the show, not through "Where's Waldo?"-style observations made by fans.

Bluey is aimed at an even younger audience, has cheap animation, has a lot of "childish" plots with episodes focusing on Bluey wanting to entertain herself with kiddy games and the grown-ups going to absurd lengths to play along with those kiddy games, has smartphones and tablets, and A LOT of toilet humor. But I'm supposed to love Bluey and hate G5 because the internet said so, sure. Yeah, that's another thing, I am sick of people acting like these "problems" aren't just standard practice for kids shows. And do you really think the kids are unhappy with G5, "not falling" for the supposed pandering? Do you know what the most popular TYT episode of this year has been so far?

    YES. The kids love what so many adult fans consider to be the worst episode of the series. What does this tell you? The views expressed by the overly critical (and to be brutally honest, normally critical) part of our fandom DO NOT reflect the views of the general consensus. It is time for us to mature, stop being so bitter about something that is making people happy, and move forward. 

    Still fully agree with this. Just make a sidenote of the fact that I like Bluey, more than I did back when I wrote this, and I stand by this even more strongly. Even I can't believe that Sparky's Sick already has almost two million views now on the TYT channel. :PIPPIPHURRAY:

    But more importantly, we've now seen the recent increase in quality of the Make Your Mark chapters and more demand than ever for production on 3D G5 content to continue. Not only that, but with the reveal of MYM Chapter 2 making it into the Top 10 Netflix Kids Show charts at a time when G5 negativity was at its peak, it's become more apparent than ever before that the overly critical part of our fandom does not speak for the majority of G5's audience.

    Hey, we could even have the ponies represent seasons, like how Sunny could represent summer, Zipp could represent winter, Pipp could represent spring, and Misty could represent autumn.

    By the month would definitely be easier to manage. We could call it, "Make Your Month".

    What do you guys think about days for events dedicated to G5 characters? @DivineMist1000 has an idea for "Sunny-Day" for Sunday, and I think a "Misty-Day" for Monday would be a good idea. @Silky Bloom wants to know what Misty represents to you guys, so please share your thoughts on what she means to you! :grin2:

    G5's "Small World" - The Reason

    What do you guys think about G5 having a "small world" and do you know the likely reason for it? I've explained this on another site...

    Yes, it's not what you would call a bunk criticism, it's just an awareness-lacking criticism. It makes perfect sense for G5's world to be small because 3D's not cheap, they don't have the money for it, and they don't want to give the team a headache. I think more people would understand this if more people knew the limitations of CGI shows, how often they have to recycle models and backgrounds. There's 2D-animated Tell Your Tale...but that's also something that's clearly made the way it is because of a limited budget. Regardless, do you think that G5 does a good job working with its limitations in how it develops its small world?

    I can not believe that two years ago, I was watching the G5 movie when it was new, and that about a year and a half ago, I was watching the G5 shows when they were new. Things may have been weird for G5 at the start, but I do believe more than ever now that the G5 shows are going to find much more of an audience over time and that this generation is going to live on for a long time.

    Well, with TYT apparently stepping up to the stage and MYM living on Netflix through 2024, 2025 being the year for MYM to be followed up would make sense. It may not be exactly two years or just over that amount of time, MYM's development was announced in early 2021 and premiered in mid-2022.

    Nothing but respect for @StarlightNyars, but this is old news that has been frequently talked about on this site, there was a topic that linked to news about the slides.

    We've talked about the slides and MYM possibly ending A LOT since the news broke, I've even had the PDFs saved on my computer since this news was announced. And Make Your Mark is likely not canceled, it's more likely ending with a planned finale. Twenty-seven episodes may not seem like a lot, but Netflix is Netflix. This happened with Netflix's Castlevania too, where they announced a follow-up series a month after the show ended its run of thirty-two episodes with said series set to premiere two years later.

    Chapter 5 Episode discussion

    Just finished watching every episode and I can confidently say that this chapter wasn't as good as the last...but only slightly. Chapter 4, that was a hard one to top, and just like with Chapter 4, every episode was far above average to me. Of course, I loved all the development our favorite show stealer Misty got, world development's coming along good as always (at least to me), and every joke at least made me smile. It's such a shame this chapter's structure isn't like Chapter 4's, the main reason why it has a slightly less powerful smack to me, not having a special or a big finale episode to make me really feel that oomph. Like...you can't expect me to believe we only have three episodes and a special after this. This...doesn't feel like the coming end at all. 

    I'll review things in more spoiler-y detail in a full review of every episode, but I will spoil something that I loved so much that I just have to say it now...
