gaming The absolute WORST gaming consoles!
GrimGrimoire replied to Kyoshi Frost Wolf's topic in Media Discussion
Virtualboy might have been physically worse, but Nintendo took the blow and buried that sucker in a very deep grave. My money would be on the Gizmondo.. that sucker did not just make gamers everywhere rock themselves to sleep at night hugging their knees, it managed to kill a tiger! That is real bad juju if you ask me. -
critique wanted Halloween Banner (MLPF banner)
GrimGrimoire replied to Onylex's topic in Photo Finish's Magics (Visual Art)
Assuming you are making MLP themed as well as Halloween themed... there are honestly a ton of things you could do with it.... from something really subtle like silhouettes of various characters merging into the background to something a bit more simple such as having a cast of characters lined up and marching up to the house in costume to risk seeing if anyone (GULP! Hopefully living) is home and willing to spare some treats. One thing that would be a brilliant touch in my opinion to whatever direction you choose to go in, would be to reference or put your own spin on the Mare in the Moon and put that familiar symbol all ponies romanticize or dread about hanging in the sky. Otherwise looks pretty darn spooky to me so far. -
People say my voice haunts their nightmares. And it damn well better. Other than that, I don't talk much and getting words out of me can sometimes be a challenge.

Although I have loved several of the Zelda games since then, none have quite hit me the way ALTTP did... I spent days on that game until finally beating it, and it was one of those first early games where the ending just made it all worthwhile. I may have even shed a few tears... I cannot confirm this of course... I am just saying it may have happened.

How do you feel about this clown situation?
GrimGrimoire replied to Peppermint Larry's topic in General Discussion
I have seen a couple of people doing this actually including a small group of them harassing some people at one point. Also where I work, several months ago when I had to stay really late past working hours getting paperwork done we had a couple of teens dressed as clowns come press their faces to the doors and glass and start dragging their hands over them and licking them and the like. It freaked a lot of the people there still with me out and a couple of the girls were screaming and panicking and the like. I don't pay them any mind really, if they want to dress like clowns I honestly could not care. But when they start harassing people and such I take an issue with it. Still a couple of delinquents taking it too far is no reason to start a global counterstike on clowns. Just punch the bad ones in their large rubber noses. -
Getting ready to restart. Replaying a bunch of old classic retro games (mostly RPGs) and going to slowly work my way forwards through them as I have time. This will be #3 on my list since I have started this mission.

I work in management. I spend half my day in dull meetings and the other half bitching people out for being idiots. It is a mix of being lazy and babysitting.

spoiler Did everyone feel sorry for Chrysalis? Or sorry for Starlight?
GrimGrimoire replied to SunsetBaconDrive's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
They don't have to like her, or feel sorry for her or anything of the sort. In fact they can outright loathe her for her actions. But they can still feel pity at her failure and her determination to cling on to such a wasted emotion as vengeance instead of doing something positive with her self and her subjects. -
Good lord... I think I just got tooth decay from all the sweetness here. Awesome work.

Holy crap! Are you serious??? They made the ponies horse-like??? What were they smoking? Looks to me like Medley is about to meet an unfortunate fate at the business end of Twilight. Now we all know why G1 ended the way it did.

Just went and got my dinner. I did not feel like making anything, so take out it was. "And the sound of much nomming was heard... and the sounds of a rumbly belly were thus made quiet... " ~The book of Luna~

Well played. I cannot argue your logic.

And by taking their lives Celestia has to live with the thought of whether she did the right thing. There is also the possibility of fallout with other nations and the like by killing her enemies. By killing her enemies she also becomes another despot who says live under her rule or die in a manner of speaking... sure she could be protecting her empire... but that excuse has been used before by tyrants. I am not saying Tirek and Chrysalis for example are not evil beings deserving of some swift and possibly permanent justice of some kind, but beings like Celestia whom are trying to promote a peaceful, and loving empire just will not, nor should they promote killing anyone. There are ways these villains can be dealt with without resorting to executing them. I am sure they have several other ways of dealing with the truly irredeemable.

Do people hold too high of a standard for MLP?
GrimGrimoire replied to Limestone-Pie's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Compared to some forums I have been in, this place is a cake walk. I think a lot of people just like to complain, for whatever reason. Whether it is legitimate or they just are belly-aching. Personally I just lets me know the fandom is doing alright since by endlessly complaining it tells me they are watching the show. Heavily watching it at that. The worst thing is an empty silent forum.- 48 replies

This was my second to least favorite episode of S6. I know a Zephyr, and Jesus in a moon buggy do I want to throttle both him and his clueless family like you would not believe. It is the same tired excuses of "he is trying to get back on his feet" or "he is just having so many struggles". Yeah when you pass on, his struggles will really begin I am going to say. I dislike the lazy and the crap excuses they toss out and hold equal disdain for the enablers.

Although your idea makes sense.... I won't give up so easily. I say she time traveled to the future, stole it, and rocked it into the past until the rest of the Mane 6 went on a quest to right that dastardly wrong.

spoiler What kind of content do we want for season 7?
GrimGrimoire replied to FlareGun45's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I don't think they could pull off a modern day Celestia episode very well to be honest, I would love to see them try, but dunno what they could do that would really "work" for the ideals of the show. But a flashback one that shows us how she became who and what she is would be perfect. I have always wanted to get some of the missing pieces in that puzzle... the comics served us some portions.... but I am left wanting more. I think otherwise they are content to have her just "smile and wave" these days. And be captured. Again. Probably. -
I bought some more books. Twilight would be proud.

There was no death penalty in any Disney films. The villains offed themselves due to their own arrogance, greed or short-sightedness. And no Equestria does not need a death penalty. It is not the real world with issues like corrupt legal systems, flawed prison systems and poor rehabilitation standards. It seems they have stuff somewhat in control and don't need to rely on barbarity to solve a lot of their issues.

general Your take on what people call "Green Burial"?
GrimGrimoire replied to SunsetBaconDrive's topic in General Discussion
Everyone deals with death in their own individual way, and it is pretty pompous to try to tell someone they are wrong for it. They are not useless. Just because some people like to visit the graves of those who have passed on and pay some form of reverence or tribute and you don't is hardly a reason to "change the system". And what "system" in fact? There is no demanded standard for it in most places and it is a partnership between the family of the deceased and the people doing the digging/burning in most cases. There are tons of options to fit pretty much any comfort level or way of thinking. You can do anything from being buried green or shot into space. The price for some of it is ridiculous but really so is everything in the medical and health related fields. Many also are converted into parks or places people will want to visit. That way you can have a serene place to put your remains, and a place that will allow the living to both enjoy spending time and still pay reverence to the dead. The government has no right to step in and do anything about it. People have a right to be buried however they like. It is called "last wishes or last will and testament" and many take it very seriously. The last thing I would want to see is someone un-invested in the situation taking control over someone else's final wishes on something so minor and putting ridiculous laws and mandates in place that just makes everyone more miserable than they already are. -
I think it will yes. True they have stated they don't want it to feel like an extended episode, but they can still have things set up that will become more relevant in the motion picture. They will bank on the knowledge that fans of the show will at some point catch the film, whether in theaters or on DVD. With smart writing they will be able to unite them very clearly, but keep them different enough to each be enjoyed by separate audiences as well. I think they will do this actually as a nod to the fans... to build something interesting over time, and leave some strings dangling for people to wonder and complain over, and then wow us all in the movie by bringing it all together and telling a real action packed and compelling story that will try to please fans of the show and attempt to convert the curious.

food How do do you eat you ice cream?
GrimGrimoire replied to ManaMinori's topic in General Discussion
Obviously between two large chocolate wafers. And then of course out of the carton. Bowls are for the timid.
