This bothers me too. Turn evil, for what reason? How about, it's all a sham - Celestia is acting weird and nasty, until everypony else ends up fearing and hating her, but there's a hidden purpose. No pony else is allowed to know what that is until there is a great "reveal" at the end of the story.

Deffo Celestia needs a 'more personal' episode of her own, if not a couple, as has been said here already so yeah Celestia cos so far she seems to mostly sit around being queenly. Still uncomfortably close to being almost a background pony. Second, Cadance, as in needs more character 'filling out' and history. (Own opinions only of course.)
