    I... Really... Kind of... Hated this episode... This might be the first Episode that I REALLY wanted to give a 1 to.. But I didn't I gave it a 2 instead. Simply put, Pinkie was annoying. And a kind of annoying that I really don't like. See the thing is.. I'm a cranky spiky curmudgeon myself. And I have a best friend who MIGHT just have the bad habit of not taking no thank you for a answer. And I MIGHT go a bit over board in telling him no on the third or so try. Me: "You want some of this?" Me: "No. But thank you." Him: "You sure?" Me: "Yes...." Him: "Positive?" Me: "&$#@ off Chris.." And the thing is I do that because I know he will literally just badger me until I say yes unless I'm rude to him. And then I FEEL BAD for yelling at him. And that's the thing. People who wont take no for a answer in helping you. Most of the time, they want to help you so they feel like a good person or a good friend.. Which in a odd way makes them REALLY selfish And on top of that, this Episode doesn't even address this. When Pinkie helps Cranky with his life long quest, she's not proving she's a good pony. We already knew that. But before that, when she's just trying to badger him into being her friend, she's being super selfish. There is a big difference between my friend helping me achive a life long goal even if I say "Nah, that's never gonna happen, It was just a dream and I give up." And my friend badgering me into doing something I actually don't want to do. And that's what pinkie was doing at first. I would actually like to see a episode where pinkie learned to take no for a answer.. That would be a interesting episode.... This however was not. ------------------------- Notes. -Smile Song: Best part of this episode. -Cranky: I love the voice work for this character. (Even if it was REALLY close to Richard Newman's role in Inuyasha) ------------------------- P.S. This episode needed more princesses in it....

    Some one actually said in a post before this that they thought this episode had been penned quite some time ago. And I agree. Actually I recall a interview where some one was talking about a comic ideal like this, but in a more standard 'trading days' type set up. This episode honestly is pretty classic, but then goes in a direction I really was not expecting.

    It should also be pointed out that some things CAN be done well, and others can't. The IDW comic (Which is pretty hit or miss, great some times, bla others) Actually did a really good job at a Sombra story. It was honestly more then good enough to be a season final if handled well in the show. What the show REALLY could use is more long term episode planning. Building up some stuff would do a lot to make it work better. I like that they are doing that with startlght at least. It was not just a BAM she's good at being friends thing. She still kind of sucks at it in a lot of ways.

    Well let's see.... Luna.. Driven mad... Clearly evil in mad form... fixed.. redemption. Trixie... Not really evil.. but gets redemption. Gilda. Not evil... Redemption. Discord. Not really evil. just cruel because of lack of empathy... Redemption. Twice... Sombra.... ~clears throat~ Evil and.. they killed him... TRek... ~nots~ Imprisonment.... Crystalis... They are clearly working on it. But to be fair, it seams like the theme is simply that you get redemption if you actually evil.. and don't have a real choice in the matter... Even in EG... Sunset.. maybe evil.. but pretty low on the evil table. The Dazzlings... that's literally a dietary need. (Kind of like changelings) Evil but not 100% there fault. Sci-Twi... poor thing.. not even remotely evil.. And her jerk-flank principle didn't even get redemption and she was just being a jerk....

    Isent it more or less pointed out in the episode that they don't really have all the mental/emotioanal development as Pinkie? I Mean they are more frantic, no real control (Even by pinkie standards) And I think they where getting dumber/less controlled as they got copied. Also Agree Twilight is a murderer..... But she's also above the law. SHE IS A ALICORN PRINCESS! (Or would be in a few episodes) AND ROYAL ALICORN BLOOD TRANSENDS TIME AND SPACE! GOOD AND EVIL! AND THE LAW! DO NOT QUESTION GODDESS ALICORN TWILIGHT POWER OVER LIFE AND DEATH! IN PLACE OF A TWILIGHT, WE WOULD HAVE A PRINCESS TWILIGHT, BUT BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIBLE AS THE TWILIGHT! TREACHEROUS AS THE SEA! STRONGER THAN THE FOUNDATIONS OF EQUESTRIA! ALL SHALL FRIEND HER, AND DESPAIR! But really man your overthinking this... its just a kids show.... Also what we should really be worried about is that the missed a pinkie clone.... Now back to my studies of the Equenomicon and Atempts to raise our dark lord Colth'lu.

    Agreed again. But the thing is, even BAD FiM epsidoes are still way better then most any other Cartoon I can think of right now. (Only because most of the stuff I watch is not on anymore) oh.. maybe Steven Universe.. I'm not a big fan but I know great stuff when I see it.

    I think we are all actually aware that all of the main six (+Starlight) Are OP By comparison to the rank and file ponies in the show. That's kind of the point.... They are "The Heros"

    Agreed. But I would also point out that the Synopsis's so far this season have been pretty vague. I'm not saying this is whats going to happen or that this is a bad ideal. (It's not you ideal is pretty good) I'm just saying I have been pretty surprised so far this season. I'm not really looking forward to this episode myself, but who knows it might be better then it looks.

    Hmmm... 4 out of 5.... Its cute.. Kind of funny. But its also VERY Crinchworthy.. In the actual sense of the word. Its good, and for a kids episode it very good. But its not great... also needs more Alicorns....

    I think it could get some new and nice input from her. But no, I don't really see any thing that would benefit from it with a reboot with her. I would not mind seeing her on the creative team. - If anything I think they would benefit more from Lauren's Real Return. - Gen 1 Ponies was actually much better then people remember. It had real bad guys and real stories. But that being said, Gen2-3 where terrible 'pink is pretty' drivel. So bad that girls above 4 normally can't stand it (In my experience) And in modern terms, the farther from those gens they are the better. - As a side note. There is a really interesting marketing study done on when IP's reach self sustaning followings. (The point that a fandom can live through a IP going quite for a long period of time, ether because of secondary sources -comics and so on- and fan works... and FiM is WELL past that.... Simply put, FiM Will likely be like buffy and still be profitable a decade or more after it 'ends' and this is very interesting to me because of the way that pop culture works now... Like.. Are we going to see a netflix / croudfunding option when Hasbro moves on from the Show? (It would make some sense because I'm pretty sure you could actually crowd fund the cost of a season pretty easy at this point. - I actually would like to see companies do this at some point. Actually just come out and say. "This show costs X$ per season" We need X$ for a new season. I would not mind seeing Hasbro try something like this with FiM When they want to move on from the IP to.. what ever if after it. Because we should also remember that MLP was basically dead as a fish before FiM came along. Yes there where Strait to Video things being put out.. but they where basically worthless from a business standpoint.

    Well kind of. The thing is, Celestia HAS changed sense then.. and Luna.. Well is just now changing. As some pony that has left the county I was born in a lot and come back a year later I can tell you that even a year away from some one can really change the way you interact with them until you get back into the swing of things. And that's not even considering the amount of adjustment that Luna is having to do... And not pointing out that.. As much as we may forget it. Luna's original complaint has only kind of been fixed. She's still more isolated then Celestia. (She talks to herself...) She still is very likely the less appreciated sister. And some times, you really never meld with the person err... pony as well as you once did. ____________ I hate to pick sides on this. Because in the end both of the sisters where. #1: Not actually doing anything wrong, they where just missing social cues and or not thinking in the other sisters... horse shoes... Wait would Ponies call them horse shoes or just shoes? ~shakes head~ nope, don't overthink it... #2: Both where over doing it when it was brought up and not thinking of the others life. But.... Luna really was the one missing way more of the social cues then Celestia... Now before every pony jumping my case, That's actually more understandable. So Celestia might actually bare as much if not more of the blame. But most of the things that Celestia was massing where literally things that where 100% outside of her experience. Luna had interacted with ponies enough to know that talking with them all day would not always be fun. Now all that being said, again Luna still clearly has not adjusted to modern life, and most likely never quite will. Or rather will and will always be a introvert. _ But this brings up a LOT of questions.... And most of them have the same answer. Q: Has Celestia never raised the Moon before? I was pretty sure that she was the one doing it while NMM was banished? Possible A: The Sun/Moon may very well actually raise and lower themselves without the Sister there to do it. Possible A: Luna was in fact still doing it... like, IDK subconsciously.... Possible A: The writers where not thinking of that. - Q: How did dreams/nightmares work before Luna came back? Now I don't really expect to get any answers to these questions. But... I'm going to lose sleep over them.. and that's sad.

    Ya I actually had this discussion with a friend not long ago. We have actually at this point got a good ideal of what all the Alicorns would be like evil except for Candace and Flurry Heart. Luna = Nightmare Moon. Celestia = DayBreaker Sci-Twi = Midnight Sparkle. (And we can assume that this is pretty close to what Twilight would be, so that.. only in pony form) And... ... Bacon Hair. really, shes a Alicorn... Something we don't actually get. The evil version of Sunset is her version of a Evil Alicorn, I'm almost positive that in pony form, Sunset is a Alicorn now. and does not even know ijt.

    Well.. If you count Sci-Twi... We have seen evil Twilight. Midnight Sparkle. Also on a sidenote... I really want evil Cadence to have mind control powers... make everyone love her. So... Basically evil cadence would just be Queen Cheese Legs only better at the job. Also as a side note... Tyrant Celestial Confirmed.... Really... Darkbreaker was just.. wow... I have a new Wifu.

    But AJ Does have parents... We get to see them in a few more episodes.. I mean AJ does not get to see her Parents often clearly. But they are still alive some place.. (And might be voiced by William Shatner and Felicia Day)

    Simple answer is yes.. Simple reason is that so far season 7 has been interesting. Had good ratings and good critical returns. Why would you even think of ending it... No I mean really.
