  1. It may have been suggested to me at one point but I was confused. Why would I want to do it? give me one good reason. There's literally nothing I can think of that would ever convince me to do something like that.
  2. People who can't pick up on context, don't read between the lines, make false assumptions, non-native english speakers, people who don't understand irony, or get overly aggressive over nothing. These are all forum problems.

    mega thread Favourite songs?

always get high with the space Beatles
  4. I think I've watched like, maybe two episodes. What actually attracted me to this fanbase was that it had a good reputation, and I saw people who were being picked on unjustly and made fun of, so out of a kind of spite I became part of this, even though in all honesty I haven't seen much of the show or even particularly like it. Though I do love John delancie, being a trek fan- so I do enjoy discord as a character. At least early on
  5. this is the worst thing I've read in awhile
  6. Mostly because they bully people and smaller projects/companies over ridiculous things. They've twisted the law to extend copyright so mickey mouse doesn't enter the public domain, they try to claim some ownership over ancient fairy tales and fables, fine and harass people. Most other big companies do bad things also, so I don't see disney as much worse, but maybe it's partly the fact they might be the biggest company in the entertainment industry that gets people's attention.
  7. I never wear a mask when I go out. I think my state has the most cases? I don't do anything differently and guess what? I didn't get it. Who would have thought.
  8. Someone trying to learn. Learn how to live, learn about the world and life, and learn about myself.
  9. When I was little I had a female friend who would dress me up in dresses and makeup etc. Actually I think it can be healthy for girls to explore their masculine side and boys to explore their feminine side as children.
  10. Personality matters a great deal, of course. But you often get people who say that looks don't matter at all, which is not true. In fact I would go so far as to say that if we define "mean more" to be "meaning" more to society on the whole, looks trump personality almost 9 times out of 10. Humans are intensely visual-oriented, and we all make subconscious judgements about each other based on our physical appearance. Here's one example. Say you have two people who can sing equally well- one is just average looking, but the other is exceptionally attractive. Who do you think will end up being more successful? Here's another example. If two men attempt to flirt with a woman, one is somewhat "ugly" and the other is fairly conventionally attractive. Which do you think will be successful at getting a date? or, which one will be considered the "creep" and which not? physical appearance holds enormous power in our society. It can shape lives for good or ill.
  11. Drugs. I have to reserve a certain portion for drugs per week, usually around $40 minimum.
  12. I often wonder what it must be like to have a "Clear" mind, free of disorders. I can only imagine what life would be like without the enormous burden of my disorder, which is like carrying around another person inside your head.
  13. A good story has good characters. If the story is written well and intelligently, that is the most important thing. Almost any premise can be good, if your main character(s) is well-written, and relatable for the reader.
  14. Here's what I will say. I smoke every day. It's legal, cheap, and readily available in my home state. I think that comparatively, it's less harmful than other narcotic substances like nicotine and alcohol. HOWEVER, it is addictive and not without downsides. It increases tiredness and apathy, and can make you more prone to procrastinating. It is also painful to be without it, if you smoke every day, as you will experience withdrawal. And once you have easy access to it, it's very likely that you will become addicted. I'm not sure that it's generally good for society on the whole, but I can't be sure one way or the other- I am more skeptical of it than I once was, though.
  15. I mean, they have, historically. Like the EIC and Dole. I don't know if there are laws preventing private companies from having their own hired troops in foreign countries right now.
  16. Britain never should have handed over hong kong to china in the first place. Maybe the day will come in the future when the chinese people will have had enough of their government, but right now this will go by without action by anyone else.
  17. it's a bitch convincing people to like you.
  18. My favorite episode is "Puhoy" maybe you should give it a try? adventure time has depth to it, delivered in a sort of silly and simple, unique way. It appeals to people for it's intelligence and uniqueness too, beyond the surface level things, comedy and such.
  19. Most people live pretty boring or difficult lives (some both) so people often turn to vapid or light entertainment. They don't want to go on netflix or whatever and watch a war drama, or something dark and heavy. Just think about how popular comedy is as a genre, for example. Slice of life allows people to live vicariously, with characters that perhaps allow them to feel a connection to people that they don't have in real life.
  20. Memes are a form of expression, available to be expressed by anyone of any degree of talent or intelligence. Some may even approach art, depending. Memes are a very interesting and very new phenomenon, some profoundly funny or profoundly stupid, but who can say they hate memes?
  21. I like platform heels like 6 in tall
  22. what episodes of adventure time did you watch?
  23. any compliment about anything. I don't get them all that often. But we should realize how much compliments can mean to people- sometimes something as simple as a compliment can give someone the strength they need to carry on.
  24. Human intelligence can't be accurately measured by questions on a test. How could it? what qualifies as intelligence? there are many dimensions to intelligence, and multiple aspects of being "intelligent" completely ignored or neglected by standard IQ tests. Even the person who created the original standard test admitted this. To boil down something as fluid and complex as human intelligence to a number isn't just dishonest, but borderline insulting.
