  1. Critical thinking/logic seeing as how my school never saw that as up for offer. The best substitute they had was communication applications. Give me a break.
  2. I thought I wanted to be a teacher, but I realized I needed to be more talkative to do that. I also thought I wanted to be a copy-editor/proofreader/whatever, since that's what teachers and family kept saying I should be since I'm so good with language. Then I grew up and realized, why am I making career decisions at fucking 12 years old? That's way too young! Like how did I go from being a meager preteen minding his own business to making potentially destructive life choices with no information as to why it's so important that I do it now? Was there some unspoken assumption that I was in any kind of hurry to grow up? Because that doesn't sound like me at all.
  3. I grew up with the Maruchan instant noodles and other off-brand noodles, not great by any margin. Then one day I made Chashu ramen with fresh noodles, and lemme tell you, it was next level. These days I prefer udon noodles since they're thicker and chewier, but whenever I want to go for ramen, well... There's better and more sophisticated brands of instant ramen out there, Sun Ramen and Samyang for starters.
  4. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - cleared ~150% on my first run in about 6 hours. By the time I got to the second castle, I was really more focused on finishing the game, so completionism was out the window.
  5. Still kind of watching Polly Pocket. I saw the last episode of the new season and it looks... like it's going a bit off the rails.
  6. No problems whatsoever. Come to think of it, I've wanted to try it myself with a blonde wig, but it's not that high of a priority.
  7. Cheddar cheese. Mozzarella I can do, usually on pizza or quesadillas. But cheddar cheese, especially mac n' cheese is a great way to ruin good pasta. This coming from the guy who puts random meats and stuff on his noodles.
  8. Tempura shrimp, tilapia, and red onions.
  9. Super Bust a Move Super Mario 64 Goldeneye Paper Mario 64 Donkey Kong 64 Castlevania/Legacy of Darkness Banjo Kazooie Yoshi's Story Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
  10. Metroidvanias (SotN, Order of Ecclesia, etc.), tower defense if that counts, assorted platformers, puzzle games.
  11. American wagyu, I presume? I bought some a couple of years ago to use in curry and when cooked right, it just melts in your mouth! Last night, I made some Hot and Sour soup with lots of ginger, wood ear and shiitake mushrooms, a long scallion, and pork mince.
  12. A Granny Smith apple - tough on the outside, sharp, but also kind of sweet on the inside.
  13. Buttery egg noodles with Chinese chives, seared chorizo, and arbol chili powder. I was drunk when I came up with that, but then again, I put random meats and spices on egg noodles all the time.
  14. I now use SayWeee! to buy Asian ingredients, and they deliver perishables! How nice.
  15. Strawberry Shortcake, Pound Puppies, and LPS 2012 were pretty spectacular. Maryoku Yummy and Twisted Whiskers were also nice surprises.
  16. After two days, I beat Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin on normal mode at like level 35. I didn't 100% every dungeon or find every weapon (because by the time I got to the last dungeons, all I needed was the Vampire Killer), but fuckin' A the Stella/Loretta boss fight forced my hand to use an immortality cheat. But who cares? If I really wanted to impress people, I'd play it on hard mode with a cap at level 1.
  17. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (USA) through emulator, first playthrough. It's a touch more challenging than I gave it credit for, all the longplays I've seen made it look really easy.
  18. If it means I can come and go as I please like it's Care-a-Lot, then yeah.
  19. On top of the unexpected-but-no-less-welcome return of Cheese Sandwich, this was one of Pinkie Pie's best outings. In fact, it's the best one she's had for three seasons. At first I was confused about her desire to find her life's purpose because I thought she'd already achieved that, but on rewatch, I can see it now since all she does is throw parties, hang with friends, laugh, and bake. I forgot how funny Cheese's "lost cause" joke was at the end. Some may not have found that funny, but at least it wasn't overdone.
  20. That... ...is the most metal thing I've seen all day. The big question remains: Is he (still) friend or foe? I'm okay with him once again being foe.
  21. No, but I should start. Apart from focusing on Polly Pocket, etc., my only excuse for not doubling down on my top 100 episodes is that I didn't want their charm to wear out by playing them to death.
  22. 1. Twilight Sparkle: Pretty obvious choice. 2. Daring Do: If ancient relics are involved. 3. Sunset Shimmer: Self-explanatory. 4. The Duke of Maretonia: May or may not actually be a unicorn with that hat he's got on, but he seems like an agreeable fellow. 5. Steven Magnet
  23. To me, it's like: If more than half of the episodes in a given season rank from middling to low in enjoyability, in this case, 8 superb episodes out of 18 of the 26 total, then the season is rotten. This way, seasonal rot where it exists isn't so all or nothing. In season 9's case, you have a host of funny/memorable moments in episodes that are otherwise not worth watching the episodes themselves for. In fact, the ratio of good to meh episodes is 4:26.
  24. Horse Play: Celestia's cardboard acting is at this point the only thing making it worth watching. The Maud Couple: Seeing Limestone and Marble given more screentime is its saving grace. 2, 4, 6, Greaaat: Much as it's the antithesis of FiM, the song was amusingly catchy. The Saddle Row Review: In retrospect, this was a weak episode. I thought that Rarity wanted to open a boutique in just Canterlot; why Manehattan? Other than that, there were some good moments.
  25. I haven't eaten McDonalds for a long time (because the new favorites are Zaxby's and Chick Fil A), but their fries are as good as I remember.
