Hmm, I actually like AcoustiClouds as an OC name. o.o It kind of matches the cloudy eye expression. Perhaps his cutie mark could be a guitar pick.

3. Hurting someone I care about: I really can't stand it when I do things that hurt my friends. It always leaves me with a horrible feeling. I don't go out of my way when it comes to upsetting them with minor things... I'm quite the troll when I want to be, but on a level of betrayal... I just couldn't stand myself, and I fear giving into some base instinct that results in me throwing them under the bus. 2. Losing someone I care about: This happened far too often in my life when I was younger, and I'd rather not go through those feels for quite some time. 1. Dying with an unexpressed / unfinished idea: My imagination is a crazy, overactive asshat. It needs to get things out in one way or another, and the thought of dying before those ideas have been shared absolutely terrifies the crap out of me.

How did you first react to this scene?
WingMcCallister replied to Wardaddy's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
When I saw that seen, I think I uttered wtf... It just seemed quite surreal. I understood why Shining Armor got upset, but to tell his sister not to come to the wedding just seemed to be well outside his character. If anything should have thrown a giant red flag up, it should have been that! Her friends bailing... just crapped all over the central focus on the show. They just cold shouldered her, which was uncharacteristic; which brings me to Celestia. Arguably, she is the person who understands Twilight better than anyone else in the series. You would expect the goddess of day to have a better read on her star pupil. >< So ... I felt something... RAGE! lol- 71 replies

lol Another topic that could go in 'Ask a Particle Physicist' (shameless I am). Time travel is just a difficult subject. Usually, when people ask me this (they're generally students), I counter with what is time? There are so many people who cannot answer that question. It is really abstract. Space is easy to travel through because we have a general basic intuition as to what it is. Our bodies are designed to travel through it at variable rates. Time is a completely different thing. Now, I've studied ze physics enough to know the numerous things that make time travel the craphole it s, but on just philosophical grounds, I don't see us time traveling without a better understanding of what time is. We can go into GR and say, "Hey, spacetime is a four dimensional blah blah blah," but that still doesn't answer the fundamental question posed.

How famous do you think you are on the forums?
WingMcCallister replied to ~Starlight~'s topic in General Discussion
Meh, ponies who look for fame typically suck anyways. However, it should go without saying that the community has noticed your contributions. I don't think that necessarily means there's a fame pedestal there, but you're definitely a well recognized pony with a good attitude. *shrugs*- 789 replies

technology Are custom-built computers any better than factory-made ones?
WingMcCallister replied to ReGen's topic in Media Discussion
That would be.... beyond epic. And pictures would have to be taken and posted and then worshiped by the masses. Yup, that's what would happen. -

I knew it was a HAF because I have one... My pics are up there somewhere. I also name my PCs... this one is Am-IV (short for Amora). You need a Spitfire decal for it. hehe -

technology Are custom-built computers any better than factory-made ones?
WingMcCallister replied to ReGen's topic in Media Discussion
I have only seen a few brave people do this. Most of them were engineers who had fabrication equipment. I haven't seen any kits for it recently. It's not impossible, but I doubt it's cost-effective. -
technology Are custom-built computers any better than factory-made ones?
WingMcCallister replied to ReGen's topic in Media Discussion
@@Kamil, I don't think it's stupid to get a pre-built system. You're essentially paying a company for convenience. It does take some knowledge to build a system, but it is also a lot of fun, and doesn't take a lot of effort to figure out. One of my friends was a complete comp novice, and I helped him get through the process. It's certainly not for everyone... err pony... but it's an experience. @@Jokuc, No, I have a really old ass Samsung monitor or my plasma tv. I need to upgrade, but I just got my Ph.D. in physics and will be moving in like two weeks... so it's probably not the best time to get new stuff. -

That's almost the same as the comp I built last year -- except it was before the 3rd gens / Z77 chipset came out. I love it. Whooshpanda. -

WingMcCallister replied to ReGen's topic in Media Discussion
Yes, building a PC is far better, and just a buck of a lot more fun than plotting around with some factory brand. I've built all my computers since 2002. If you need any help / assistance / whatevs, feel free to hit me up. Now with added Nerdgasm -
Should Scootaloo fly or be disabled?
WingMcCallister replied to pinkiefan1287's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
For dramatic purposes, I'd prefer if her path to flight was extremely difficult. Even if she eventually got there, having a disability would add to the writing depth of the series. Now for feels, I want her to get in the air with RD; but I also feel that the writing in Season 3 kind of handed things on a silver platter. We got the ScootsDash ep; we got the Academy ep... They're really giving us the Dash related "fanservice" that viewers want.- 263 replies

I was thinking about this episode the other day after reading a thread about immortality in MLP. This episode struck me as actually being really depressing for the following reason: The more Spike adds to his treasure pile, the more he grows, the more he ages, and the greedier he becomes. Essentially, the normal lifespan of a dragon emphasizes that greed is the curse that kills. I guess it's a good lesson, but at the same time, it could be taken to a dark place if someone wanted to write a fanfic about it. Spike was saved by his love for Rarity. Without that, he might have descended into greed-induced madness and progressed through his life cycle. It just struck me as an interesting perspective.

This is the horrible moment when I'm going to say the one I wrote Sad, but true... If I had to go to others' stuff, I really like amateur short stories from people who nopony here would know (writing contest entries and whatnot). Mainstream wise, I did really enjoy Game of Thrones.

LOL 0/10. There are a handful of people on the board that know me, and a heck of a lot less who know me well. But I'm a n00b, so that's pretty much expected. I'm also not aiming for fame... just awesome fun times.- 789 replies

open September (Based on The Living Tombstone)
WingMcCallister replied to ~Rogue~'s topic in Everfree Roleplays
Wick swore he heard rustling, but what did he know. His head ached and the landscape wasn't one to remove a dreary disposition. He moved slowly towards where the sound had came from and heard the distinctive pattern of galloping. 'Now, is this something I want to find or not?' he thought to himself, bracing himself for whatever fate had in store.
