I've been blinded!!!!!

 

I went to Walmart today to get some blind bag ponies for the 6 year-old girl I got into MLP and I found out they REMOVED THE NUMBERS!!! They must have gotten wind that we had cracked the "code."

 

Hasbro you sneaky...

 

Oh well, there were still a few with numbers on them so I am pretty sure I got the girl Pinkie Pie and one of the sparkly Mane 6. Also, two others that I just don't know...

They changed the numbering system. They look like this now.

I got a story:

I took the train with one of my friends to the nearest toys"r"us and when we got there they had five bags left, one of which had been emptied. -_-

After asking for more, (and getting weird looks from the guy assisting us) we bought the last four bags and when we opened them, the only pony who's even in the show was Rainbow shine... It was rather disappointing (especially after using most of my money, so we both could get there)

Failed! Well, I already have the mane 6 and the 3 sparklies for myself but I went shopping for a 6 year-old girl. I picked out bags that still had the old numbering system. However, those numbers are still hard to read! I thought I had a 1 and a 6 but it turned out to be a 7 and 8. I had also picked out a 9 and a 23.

 

Well, the little girl was NOT impressed with Sugar Grape, Lily Blossom, or Minty. And she was not impressed with SPARKLY Twilight either even though she's Twilight. She wants the mane 6 non-sparkly and she let me know it.

 

Well, I felt bad - I thought I at least had Pinkie Pie and Flutteryshy. Sigh. Maybe I should have made her watch "Art of the Dress" so she learns to accept gifts gracefully. We watched Hearts and Hooves Day.

 

I guess I could hand over MY mane 6 but after the way she acted... NAH! They are mine!!!!!

Last week I was in Walmart. Naturally, I went right to the blind bag box. They'd put a brand new one out and here I thought, "YES! I can finally get the rest of them!"

 

Wrong.

 

It seems the bags lacked the special numbers that we've been using to identify what pony is in the bag. I'm wondering if this is just a faulty box or is anyone else having this issue? Has Hasbro caught on?!

 

(Admittedly, I did...SORTA make the peep holes bigger...by using their ears...and got 2 of them I didn't have yet. *shifty eyes* DON'T JUDGE ME! )

Grrr I wish my Walmart sold those bags! But hopefully not because I still want them. Honestly though, I don't think Hasbro would do that to us. It's probably a faulty package. (:

While I personally haven't seen the blind bags in stores around me for some time, I wouldn't be surprised if they eliminated the numbers to keep it random.

 

Look at this way. How do they profit more? When somepony buys the couple they want, or buys a boatload of them hoping to get the ones they want?

While it's possible, I wouldn't doubt Hasbro going to such measures if they caught on to people using this trick. They're still a business. And their big priority is making money. If people can quickly and easily get the ponies they want, Hasbro doesn't make as much money.

 

As a business, it would be very plausible that they prefer for us to buy at random and hope for the best. If you don't get the pony you want right away, you end up having to buy more and more until you do. And it's not some terrible, fan-hating thing to do. it's just business. The same as trading cards, honestly.

Darn it, I was just at walmart and din't get any because I didn't see the numbers. I like the single and double numbers better.

Anypony else have trouble seeing the numbers? Sometimes they are quite faint and I have trouble telling apart 6's and 8's.

The 6's and 8's are what give me trouble. Even the 3's (confuse for 8) I have to hold up to the light and squint. Ended up buying one and when I took a closer look, it was a different number than what I had thought.
