Let's give other background ponies some love <3

Uncommon opinion: Merry May is my favorite background pony! Why? I just love her colors! You know, there are some background ponies that are really popular to the fandom like Bonnie, Lyra, Berry Punch, Derpy, Doctor Whooves, even Dinky! I think it's time we gave other background ponies some love, and maybe make some stories about them. 

 

I don't really have anything right now, but what do you all think? Let's give Merry May, Parasol, Amethyst Star, Shoeshine, Sassaflash, Lucky Clover, Medley, Raindrops, Rainbowshine, Dizzy Twister, or even Lightning Bolt some attention! Let's make some stories for them!

I guess Colgate counts as a popular background pony, but she's my favorite BG pony and I didn't see her on that list

 

I think Amethyst Star is pretty legit, though She's my second favorite, followed by Lyra, who'd be my third.

 

Why?

 

Because they're all unicorns. Glorious unicorn uniformity. Unicorn master race.

While not a canon character, in Pony Platforming Project 4, Minuette is a separate character from Colgate who looks like a crystal Twilight Sparkle. She is Colgate's assistant and her talent is never being late to anything.

Cloudchaser and Flitter are two of my favorites. They are cute, unique, and have lots of potential. From what I've seen, they have pretty good character. Plus, I just really like Pegasi.

I have thought up of some other lesser known background ponies that deserve some more recognition. First one that comes to mind is Cotton Sky. While she didn't get the most appearances, she was definitely one of the most uniquely designed background ponies with her crazy, cotton candy looking mane and tail. She did get a speaking role in the ending of the end though, albeit a strange one. Still, I think she is both a cool and underrated background pony.

While I strongly dislike the school of friendship, some of the background ponies that came with it look cool. Some examples are: Summer Breeze, Strawberry Scoop, Soaring Virtue, Peppermint Goldylinks, Berry Blend, and Citrine Spark. I wish we could have gotten these background ponies under better circumstances.

Also, Derpy's coworkers are all cute looking. It would've been fun to see more of these characters' interactions.

And lastly, this background pony from "The Last Problem" has an interesting design. It's too bad that she has hardly any recognition.

I guess it is no big surprise which BG-Ponies are my favorites, the Canterlot Boutique unicorn girls. 

I guess it is their designs why I love them so much. I also like BG-Ponies from other cities like the ones from Las Pegasus because of same reasons. 

From the "old" ones (BG-Ponies from the first 3 seasons), my favorite is Amethyst Star. I also really like Flitter and Cloud Chaser. 

 

My favorite Foals are btw. Lily Longsocks and Petunia Paleo (even I am not sure if she counts as BG-Pony).

I try to gave these BG-Ponies a little bit stage when I make vectors/pictures with them.
