Adding on to what Crispy said earlier, I really think that everything they've done is masterful. However, Colors, Alaska, and Parallax 2 are their best albums in my opinion.

So I listened to some of that album, and unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of the screaming. It's too bad, cause they seem like a really great band. I'll listen to some more of it and I'm hoping the screaming grows on me.

 

EDIT: It's slightly starting to grow on me. That's a good sign.

I've been hooked on Stormwarrior lately. Power Metal with Nordic themes, yes please. The catchy lyrics keep you coming back for more, and it's one of the only power metal bands to come out in the last few years that I really enjoy.

I love this album.  It is by far Lich King's best effort.  If you can only get one thrash metal album, pick this up.  The riffs are heavy, the solos are wonderful, and the vocals are gruff.

Toxicity by System of a Down is a great album. It's the only SOAD album I have, though. The other albums don't seem to interest me as much as this one.

Ah... Toxicity was the second album I ever owned. Damn good album. 

 

First album was a Whitesnake album.

So, Koi No Yokan, the new Deftones, is the shit.  Very light, experimental tunes on every track.  The entire album is atmospheric, haunting, and beautiful.  I know this in particular is straying further away from any "conventional" metal sound, and into a broader alternative form.  

 

But hey, it's Deftones.

Classic doom metal, even if its only like two years old.   Heavy as hell, and the singer sounds like Ozzy.  It's pretty close to Sabbath.
