I should listen to more sludge, I'll probably check out Mastodon and Eyehategod later.

Don't forget Black Tusk, Baroness, and Kylesa.

All of Red Seas Fire's music is free on their website, might wanna check it out.

New EP's pretty good, though I liked their debut album more.

looks like I'm gonna have to take a visit to someone's website, not the greatest I've heard, but worth having.

Electric metal-ish weird fusion. Either way, a kickass song. If you're like me, you found them thru Dave. If you like electronic and metal, you can notice the slight electronic influences all over.

More like, don't forget Grief, Dystopia and Sea of Deprivation.

All this sludge is leaving me feeling like freebasing a shitload of heroin.

Hey dude, I know you like Slayer but do you like stuff like Sodom and Kreator? And are you into the extreme subgenres? (Doom, death, black, grindcore)

I'm not really into the extreme subgenres. I don't think I want to go beyond Slayer.

Speaking of Slayer, here's something from Seasons in the Abyss

Oh come on now, you'll love it. I know I did, maybe you should start of with some old-skool In Flames and At the Gates. That's some good melodeath for you right there.

What about Opeth? I seriously despise of most Death Metal but yet I love these guys, some of their stuff doesn't even sound like Death Metal.

I skimmed through the song, and it was pretty good, I still need to get around to listening to that album. For some reason, I haven't felt like it :/

Man, Blackwater Park is one hell of an album, once you feel like listening to it, listen to it. Maybe the acoustic song will convince into listening to the full album.

Before I started listening to Opeth I thought most progressive metal was well, fapping noises for butthurt jerk offs who can't appreciate simpler forms of music. Now they're one of my favorite bands, and then I found other prog bands that I like. Although, I'm still not very fond of stuff like Dream Theater. Edited by AtDawnTheySquee

My unpopular opinion is that they peaked on Metropolis pt. II and everything they put out after is just kinda... eh.

So, opinions on this band, anyone?

I'm really liking dude's clean vocals in this one.

I didn't say I didn't like it, only that it's not as good as the stuff that really got me into them.

If most death metal sounded more like this, I might actually enjoy death metal quite a bit. These vocals sound so much better than in most death metal.

If you want high pitched vocals like that, then you should listen to Deicide. I doubt you'll like them but you do want death metal with high pitched vocals, right?

I wasn't really digging the vocals, sorry. I'll just stick with The Sound of Perseverance, I think.

Is there anything similar to the song Spirit Crusher that you know of?

I agree with this one, Metropolis Pt. II was so amazing, Train of Thought was to me a lesser version of that album, Octavarium was pretty good, though still not impressive, Black Clouds & Silver Linings, well the only songs that I liked from that album were A Nightmare To Remember and The Count of Tuscany, the rest of the tracks were meh. A Dramatic Turn of Events...well while the album wasn't terrible...it was just so boring and watered down, oh good lord I'm scared of what they're gonna release on their next album. As for Systematic Chaos I haven't listened to it yet, with the exception of The Dark Eternal Night, which was an epic song.

Similar to Spirit Crusher? Well, you MIGHT like some stuff from their album Symbolic. Other than that you should look into stuff like Opeth or melodic stuff like Carcass, At the Gates or In Flames. This is my favorite metal song off my favorite metal album by favorite metal band. It's grindy death metal with progressive elements. Try it, tell me what you think of it.

It's always fun finding random grindcore/powerviolence bands on bandcamp. Sometimes, you even find some good bands! :o

Mortification, anyone? Not really into them anymore, but this is my favorite song from my favorite album by them. Wish they made more death metal and much less thrash. >_<
