I know it isn't really metal, it's more post-hardcore.

 

I'm extremely impressed with the new A Lot Like Birds album. It's a concept album about the vocalist's childhood and how fucked up it was, relating different stages of his life to different rooms in the house. It's pretty artsy and stuff.

 

PIIIEEEEE!!! I lol'd right there. Anyway, this is probably one of my favorite songs right now.

Lol I agree. It does look a lot like Mass Effect. It's too bad that album kinda sucks though, I was really disappointed with it :/

I've grown to like Ghost BC quite a bit.

I really like their imagery and how invested that they are into their whole little personal niche that they've got going. I completely support these guys and what they're doing, and (for once) I'm glad they're becoming more and more popular worldwide.

 

Gotta love how damn articulate and adorable Swedes are.

From what I can see, trends are going in two very distinct directions.  Lots of late 80's-early 90's style hardcore, or stuff that sounds like this, which feels like a Grunge revival to me.
