So, I was watching a video and they mentioned something about naming your car, and that just made me wonder.....does your car have a name? If so, what? If not, would you consider naming your car or no?

(just for the record, I don't have a car I just thought I'd make a thread about it lol but if I get a car I may name it....)

I call it Goddamnit. Because it does nothing but make me say that.

I only love you platonically.

As in plate tectonics.

As in two bodies sliding against each other.

Nope. My car is pearl white and I entertained the idea of hanging a Vinyl Scratch figure from the rear view, but that never materialized so... nope. Just my car.

We named her Bumblebee.

It handles like a tiny pony though.  Mostly when her tires are all chunky.

EDIT:  She can go 25 miles per hour.  I feel more comfortable taking her out on the road than an actual sedan.  The forklift handles like a dream.  I can run an obstacle course in ten seconds flat.  Had to say it.

Seriously though, do not get in a road rage battle with me.  I will win.  I lift things up and put them down.

I will.  I will and I do.

Yes his name was Carl and he was a 1998 Toyota Avalon. My dad gave her to my uncle now,

Truth be told, I just named him by adding l to the word car. Nonetheless I cared for him a lot and still remember him.

I call my car "My Car".

I might give a name to my car if it were awesome or something. But it's just a generic, bland, white, Ford Escort. Nothing special, so it get's no special name.

Yeah, it's named "hatchback." We have 2 Subaru Imprezas, a hatchback and a sedan, so that's what we call them.

Here's the names my Dad has put on his cars (they're almost all based on the colours of the cars)

The Blue Lagoon

The Turquoise Delight

The Great White

The Divine Wine

The Black Panzer (It's a german car >.>)

AS for cheap secondary cars we've picked up out of necessity in recent years...

The Heapo Shitto (Let's just say it was cheap, smelled of wet dog and the gearbox was half broken)

The Italian Sports car (A fucking Fiat Punto xD)

and

What A Great Car

Nope, but I think I should name it Perry the Prius . Or maybe Peter, Paul, Patrick, or something that starts with a 'p'.

Yep, my car has a name. I named my Yaris "The Orange" because she certainly isn't a lemon!... and there's also the fairly obvious fact that the body of the car is indeed orange. It would frankly be a bit odd if it wasn't...

I wouldn't drive a car without a name. If something doesn't have a name, how can I fully know or trust it?

When my Mercury - "Ella" - went into the shop after an accident, they wrote her name on the windshield and referred to her by name the rest of the week they had her. If the name fits the car won't quit, right? :derp:

Oh, hello... Did I hear something about CARS?!

I'm a gearhead... I love cars.  Anything with wheels and an engine, really.

While not all the vehicles my parents and I own have names, some did/do have names.  My father used to own a 1979 Ford Bronco (it had a 351 bored forty over; was jacked up on some big mudders; and it was invincible) - it's name was "Old Red" (yeah, it was big, and red, so... lmao).  My mom's 96 Ford Explorer we call "the Exploder" - dunno why, though.  Those are the only ones that have/had names.

If you are a gearhead, or at least like cars/trucks/bikes/etc... keep going through the spoilers...

My truck does not have a name, but I love her. She's always been good to me. Here's my 2001 Ford F-150 (with the 5.4L Triton V8):

Here's my 2002 Yamaha V-Star 650:

And here's our (my parents and my) classic show car; it's an 89 Chevy Camaro RS (with the 305tbi 5.0L V8):

I always thought I would name my car...as a kid I thought it would be cool. But I never did.

It was always, "the car."

Kinda like calling a cat, "Kitty."
