"Alrighty then, let's hit the streets and get ourselves some treats!" Serena yelled excitedly.

She trotted toward Sugarcube Corner at a brisk pace, but made she sure to stop every and now then in case the others needed to catch up. After just a few minutes the sweet shop was in view.

Serena turned around and spoke, "Presenting, Sugarcube Corner! Who's ready?

Senlin didn't know what to pick, mostly for Omen. He knew he had to try something but Omen may or may not want what he picks. Still, Omen may want to try something sweet.

"I'll take two of those glazed donuts with sprinkles. I guess those are to-go since I don't want to waste any more of your time. How much would those be?"

The nighttime stroll under the stars while munching on donuts would be perfect when Senlin finds his sister though it wouldn't hurt to find out what the casual walk under the night sky would be like with a friend. There is a plan but he would much like to comfort Omen however he could. If he only knew what to say. He wouldn't know the first thing about being in the service of another.

With a click, the door closed behind Wane.  He was feeling restless- his hooves felt light and his wings limber.  The night had yet to come, but as the sun fell, he felt the urge to fly.  His most recent lead had him settle in Ponyville, possibly for the long haul.  Ever since the return of Princess Luna, bat ponies seemed to crawl out from the woodwork left and right. It had been a steady and frankly awkward reintroduction, at least from Wane's point of view.

"And yet, not one knows what these are about."

Wane looked down at his forelegs, already beginning to glow a faint silvery white. While he never got teased too much over them back home, it still filled him with a sort of confusion- they only glowed around the nighttime hours, but had no real effect on him. At most, it made for passable light to read by, but only during a full moon. He smirked at a memory, wherein his forelegs gave him away to his playmates while playing hide and seek.  He kicked off the ground, into the deep, noble shroud of the night sky.

Miststalker managed to keep hold of Priestess' hind leg, despite being hit hard in the face by her tail. "By order of the Beast Court, you will die!" With that he pulled her into the hole, the trapdoor closing behind them. Below was a large chamber, the floor a good distance down... and covered with a pool of glowing green acid which provided the only visible light. Across the room were several strands of thick webbing at different heights, creating a three dimensional arena. Miststalker, having created this arena himself, would know exactly where each strand were, and would land on one with ease as he let go of the Kitsune. Meanwhile, Carl had his own problems to deal with. The Changeling Queen had picked up about a third of his mass of spiders and was holding them in the air. The spiders that remained on the ground moved toward her. The Plan: tie her up with webs. As for the spiders in her telekinetic grasp, those would be spraying webbing at her face.

I can't have my good name spoiled by my idiot brother, now can I?" His tone and demeanor should make it clear that he was lying, trying to cover up his emotions like many guys do. Sylar managed to get out two words before being hit by the wind. "It's here?" He then felt the wind change and braced for the impact of the incoming attack. It was fast enough that he couldn't dodge, but not so fast he didn't know it was coming. Hit by the wind he landed on the ground below, looking everywhere at once, standing perfectly still, trying to find any sign that might indicate where The Forgotten One was. Then he saw his sign: Penny Buttercup. After going outside, Penny would see the pony spirit apparently running into an invisible wall, and a demonic looking creature. The Forgotten One was between her and Vivid, blocking Vivid's view of the chocolateer unicorn as it grew back its lost arm. Penny fired a blast of magic specifically tuned for use against demons... straight through The Forgotten One and toward her real target: Vivid Loss. If it hit, the blast would be at least enough to knock Vivid backs few inches. "Benefits of a Canterlot education," she said with a smile, finally that defensive magic course paid off. Penny couldn't see The Forgotten One, even with her magic chocolates, but Vivid looked evil, and it was the only thing that made sense. What she couldn't see was the pain she had caused The Forgotten One. It lashed out in agony and grabbed the nearest being: the pony spirit. It picked him up and ate him in one bite.

"Oh those f--kers! What's there problem this time? Oh, I will eviscerate them! I've been nothing but decent!" Priestess felt her leg get released. "Oh no! If I'm going down, you're coming with me!" She wrapped her tail around Miststalker's neck, constricting like an anaconda. And just as strong too.

Unfortunately for the plan, the trap door didn't close. It was wedged open. By the pair of saddle baskets Priestess was carrying. The main hall was loud with buzzing. as armored drones descended upon the area. Despite the pain in her horn, Allure got the orders out.

"Protect my children, save my mate, and bring me the intruders!!"

Several drones swiftly flew down to the trap door. Two picked up the baskets, while three more went into the hole.

Allure began to crush those spiders in her grasp. Unfortunately that plan fell though due to webbing in her eyes. "Ah! Goddess dammit! Grab those spiders!" She said as her grip was broke and she tried to rip the webbing off her face. A half a dozen drones moved to intercept the mass of arachnids.

What Dark Horse deemed as fate, Stardust called the Will of Balance. Regardless, he released a small smile at the stallion's formality, approving of the manners, though slightly pondering who would name their offspring with the forename "Dark?" At the male unicorn's suggestion, Miss Sanguine happily led the way to the location the three sought for. Although albeit startled by the mare's eager pace, Stardust hurriedly caught up.

It was only a matter of time before they eventually reached the bakery store, and Stardust regarded the large cake-like structure with wonder. This was the place? Interesting design. Stardust raised a brow of intrigue. Stepping forward, the yellow stallion held open the door and bowed invitingly to the two equines, "After you."

Let's see if the quality matches Sugarcube Corner's reputation.

"It might, but it could just be the light messing with you. Sides, I'd worry about the jaws if I were you."

Crash wasn't worried though. She had a small knife of hers released from the belt and grinned, but that was about it. That is, until she threw said dagger towards the wolf to get its attention. It wouldn't hit it anywhere important, just grazing the side of it's lower jaw, but it should do the trick unless something were wrong with this one.

Sure, she Could just let it rummage around until it got chased out of town, but where'd the fun be for her there? Besides, if it were gonna brawl it were better that she had a go at it rather than Musical. He seemed like a kid with some move, she'd give him that, but she'd wager that she had wrangled more beasts in her days than him, and though she were somewhat up in years, that didn't mean that she were any less capable of handling this oversized puppy.

Her nephew did say once in a while that she shouldn't be aiming for doing such things, retire, and then just relax and enjoy life. But frankly, she'd be damned if her twilight years were gonna be spent arguing with cats instead of this if she had a choice, and as long as she could keep up her physique she had that. Granted, it took more these days, but times like this showed why it were still well worth the time spent. Or hopefully anyway, unless the timberwolf were focusing Musical down in particular and would ignore her.

The clerk gave the price, adding a small discount as the donuts in question were the last ones and there had been a *3 for 2* offer going that particular day. Mrs. Cake had told her that in cases like that, deducting a bit so that the last ones would be sold too was a fair thing to do, and since it had been an offer anyway it wasn't like they earned less that day from this. Not really anyway.

As the two of them had taken off a little after that, Omen had thanked no to the donut and kept gnawing on her stick. It were about halfway eaten through at this point and whilst she could just gnaw through it and be over with it, she savoured the taste from it instead.

After some way of silence, Omen would break the silence, with a short message consisting simply of "Strange day.". There wasn't much context to it other than the silence from Senlin giving her time to think on how the day had went again, and see how many roads it had taken them down, prompting the short thought to be projected to him as casually as a comment about seeing a cat or something similarly mundane.

"Uuuuh, What work?"

The glimmer that had lit up in Ziggy's eyes at the mention of Serenade needing to get things done were almost strong enough to literally light the area in front of her. At this point in the evening, she still had an overabundance of energy and were as always more than willing to help, so perhaps it were something she could assist with? Otherwise, she'd have to find some other way to get rid of some energy. Like a flight over the forest or through the town and looking for random, late-night ponies she could tacklehug before zooming off again.

Might seem a bit strange, but it were just a friendly hobby of hers, and something that the ponies who really knew her had stopped thinking she'd grow out of. It had been going for too long now to not seem like the sort of thing that were just another quirk of hers.

@@Wax n' Wane,

At some point during his flight, he might eventually see another batpony circling slowly over town before landing slowly on a tall building and stare up into the sky.

He'd be hard to miss as Stargazer was a well-sized batpony, his helmet were as easy to recognise as water for most ponykin even if they only saw the edges, and the medals in his belt had the moonlight reflect in them, which was an unintended perk as far as he were concerned. It helped letting citizens know that there were a guard near if they needed help, which was a good thing as bat ponies as dark in the coat as him wasn't as easy to see if you were looking around in a panic.

He might as well be a statue right now though, as he didn't move away from the spot as his eyes locked with the glowing moon above him.

There had bee a time when he had thought that his special talent had something to do with the moon, considering how fascinated he were of the thing and how calming it felt to just gaze upon at times, but as his blank flank would tell, if that were the case, he hadn't found in what way. And at this point in life, it'd likely not change much for him to find out.

But, he didn't think of that now. All that rummaged through his head were a calm that wouldn't be interrupted until he either saw something or somepony getting in the way of his view, there'd be a call from below, or somepony would talk with him. All things likely to happen sooner rather than lately, but it were still good to have these few seconds here and there to appreciate things he'd say. Some of life's small pleasures.

"Aaargh! Bloody..."

Vivid hadn't had the chance to do much as the magic had pierced through the abominable thing in front of her and nearly hit her directly in the face. She had just had enough time to move a little to the side, but the blast still hit her on the side of her head as it went past her, and made her give out a small yelp in pain.

Normally, things didn't affect her in this stage, but that... Grrr, she could almost Taste the anti-demonic undertone that were part of it, and though she were normally relatively safe in this shape, itf that had hit her it would have smacked her back like a hammer had been brought to her. She'd almost be impressed if it wasn't because she found this to be overkill. Whoever had done that had already killed her, and now wanted to take advantage of the demonic influence on her soul´by inflicting her pain? What was this, a demon hunter or something? It basically had to be considering she had been told that demonic magic was barely mentioned anywhere in Equestria, and no random unicorn should have knowledge to spells that would only be in very particular old books, much less have a reason to learn them unless whoever it were had a beef with her former master's kin.

As Vivid had her back turned when she had been killed and therefore didn't know who had actually killed her, she had wanted to take that after this weird one had been taken care of, but there wasn't a doubt in her mind who it had been at this point in time. Who else would have a reason to kill her after all, if not the one who were currently trying to still beat her up?

It was very poor timing to have one like that after her too. She hadn't the time to try and get reason into the mind of her without pausing her battle against this thing, and as she looked and saw it take the soul in she had been with and eat it... Even the pestilence who she'd currently be more than happy to take on a trip to Hell to teach her what she were dealing with weren't important anymore.

"Grrrr. I will not let you defile the dead!"

With that, her body seemed to crackle with more energy and she charged towards the strange thing. Physical combat wasn't exactly her forte, but as she were cut off from her physical body she had a good chunk less magic now and couldn't just magic it out anymore. She had to get closer even to cast her spells, and she had to conserve things a bit by lounging and trying to deal damage whilst under the simple empowerment spell that would hopefully make her able to do some simple damage, or at least get her close enough to try something else.

When she would get to the Forgotten One, she would strike with her thorned leg and sharp tail, lashing at the abomination and see what she were able to do to this defiler of souls, trying to keep both her eyes on this one and the one that she had gotten a brief look at before after the blast had nearly hit her like a sack of stones. The odds really weren't in her favour here.

Being embarrassed over being soft for your family wasn't something far from her, as that were how she were sometimes when talking about her sister as well. She loved her, and adored the strong mare, but at the same time she didn't want to look weak to her peers back at the temple, so she had tried to hide it as well. And much like Quill, she had done so pretty poorly.

"Nothing wrong with being worried about him. I'd be too if it were my sister who had gotten left in town with some sort of body snatcher."

Florence shook her head as the suggestion to hide was brought up, then pointed to her forehead.

"I don't think that'll work. Not when they seem to know eachother by that strange, glowing mark on their head. Perhaps we could try and get some robes and hide it, but... I don't think any of them wear hoods. I guess to avoid anypony doing this."

Rising her talon to the door instead, she put the tip of what would count as her index *finger* into the lock and rummaged around for a bit until the low *click* of the lock getting opened were faintly heard. Thankfully this wasn't a door with the more narrow keys to, which were harder to get opened, but to be fair, very few had those at this point from what she had seen. It were more or less a fringe thing for eccentrics these days, and here it didn't seem to be any different.

Before Dark could even say another word to the enthusiastic red Unicorn, she took off at a brisk pace towards the center of town, excitedly yelling her intentions to everypony within a reasonable hearing distance.

Dark simply stood in open mouthed bewilderment for a moment, glancing over to the equally startled Stardust, before hurriedly running to catch up with the quick moving Mare.

Fortunately Serena was considerate enough to slow down every few moments and allow her two companions to catch up, before breaking out into a hurried jog again towards their destination. While this didn't exactly bother Dark, he was soon wondering what the rush was.

"Phew! This sweet shop... must be quite the attraction for you!" He yelled out to Serena over catching his breath, not even sure if the Mare was listening or not. "I'm usually one to have my workouts after I've eaten!"

After a small amount of time, the three ponies finally reached their goal: Sugarcube Corner. While Dark hadn't been to the establishment since his last visit, however long ago that was, the building still looked very familiar to his eyes. In no small part, he felt, due to the fact that it quite literally resembled a pastry treat. A brown chocolate roof accented with white frosting, topped with a highly decorative loft that resembled a pink cupcake, adorned no less by three large candles! Dark would have loved to have met the architect responsible for this bizarre creation. Still, it certainly helped it to stand out if anything..

As Dark approached the door, Stardust moved ahead and opened it, invitingly bowing the other two in. "Thank you Stardust!" Dark beamed at the yellow stallion. He appreciated the Earth Pony's chivalry, although he couldn't help but think of the door attendants stationed outside of every major hotel back in Manehattan.

He was quite certain that Stardust wouldn't have found that comparison to be at all amusing, so rather than risk getting the door slammed back in his face, he hurried past into the cake shop, following the eager Serena's hoofsteps.

"I'm sure. So you, the only pony who has any reason --not saying it's a good reason-- to talk to me, just happened to come here. And, instead of going in the direction of Ponyville, which is where your house and your belongings probably are, not to mention the market, you moved away from Ponyville, judging by your direction. Also 'safe spot'? 'Safe' from what? It's not mares, I know that. If you wanted to be safe from Timberwolves and whatever else roams around here, you'd go back to Ponyville. So I can only conclude that you're delusional, whether it's not going back to Ponyville or stalking me."

Dahlia was a worst-case type of pony. The worst always happened (Murfilly's law, of course), at least, for her, so she always assumed the worst would happen and had happened.

Also, she made the worst happen for other ponies --usually deliberately. This is why she was checking for anything in the area that could put her at a disadvantage --namely, his spear. She wasn't sure he'd remember he had it, but she had to account for it.

She usually did this check. It was worth it.

@@Wax n' Wane,

Stargazer didn't bulge much as the other batpony had crashed into him, nor did he look at the arrival with any hostility when he took his eyes from the moon above and looked down on him. Heck, most of what could be seen in his face was more like somepony being woken up from a nap combined with a slight glimmer of interest and docility, which didn't really signal he bothered much. Frankly, fromt he raised eyebrow that came too, it looked like he were actually more surprised than anything. Like he hadn't expected there to be other bat ponies in the area.

"Good evening."

Giving a short bow of his neck his expression went back to being indifferent and slightly tired again. It might look a bit like a stone faced expression in the dark to most, but bat ponies had a better vision than most in even dim night, and the moon provided it's silver glow enough to let it be shown that it wasn't so. Just a basic expression when he wasn't judging anypony that decades in the job had given him, and again, the slight notion of being tired as he hadn't slept much recently because of all of the things that had needed his attention.

Following the bow, Stargazer bend down to pick up the medal and put it back to it's spot in his belt. It wasn't too uncommon for impacts to make this fall off, but that was sort of the point too, as he had damaged the interlocking part enough so that when he used his belt like a slingshot, this central medal could be yanked off by a sufficiently hard yank, sending it off like a rock from a cannon. Very effective in it's own right.

That it were very sturdy were also one of the reasons he used it for that. Sure, it might mean that other of his fellow guards back in Canterlot had their times of accusing him of not taking his service medal for outstanding behaviour serious, but he frankly was just surprised that others didn't think of this. After all, why not take advantage of a reward for serving well, but putting it to good use in that job? Frankly seemed dumber to just have it sit and gather dust in his mind.

There were something else that did catch his attention though after putting the medal in place, and that were the oddly glowing front legs of this strange bat pony. It were strange, and something that he hadn't seen before, but... Ponyville Did have reputation for having weird things happen in the area, and it wasn't like he had met other of his kin in this area before, so for all he knew this were normal. Something to ask about perhaps, but as he walked the few steps over to who he assumed were a local and reached down his hoof, there were a more important question he wanted to get out.

"Need a hoof sir?"

"Alright alright. Jeez, I really can't get away with a little white lie around you huh? Truth be told I... Sorta got lost. Like, a lot."

He scratched the back of his head with his hoof, trying to avoid hitting the spear for a bit per reflex even if he had put it down on the ground a few minutes ago so he could clean his back before too and hadn't picked it up yet.

"It's kinda embarrassing. I thought I had the road mapped out, but chasing the hog around ended up messing things up, and when I finally figured I had the way right again I ended up... Well, here. Considering what you say, I guess this place is a little off road to the normal stroll to town?"

While he really wanted to see himself as a master hunter and a pony who could beat the tracking record of a seasoned adventurer, truth were that he wasn't always on top of his game, and especially not in the forests around these parts. Back in gryphon country, things had been easy with the suns placement, moss growth and a few other things, but this place were bonkers and nothing were sane. Not even the sun, cause a good deal of the forest now and again could end up blocking out more than a few strains of light, and the magical trees here and there in this place did a number on the fauna at times that could really do his head in.

"Look, sorry I lied alright? It's just a hard one to swallow that I ended up wandering into this place by accident and nearly praised the sky out loud when I saw somepony else were out here. I likely wouldn't have tried to make it sound smoother if I hadn't noticed it were you, but... Well, y'know... I make a fool of myself around you enough as it is. I didn't want you think I was a total trainwreck."

Most in town he didn't have anything to prove anything towards, and if he were to look in hindsight on things, he didn't have to with Dahlia either, but she were one of the few he tried to keep a little cool around cause he liked her. Something he failed in time and time again as he either ended up shoving his hoof so far his own throat it was a miracle he wasn't choking on it, or did something stupid like falling over something or as now, get lost and try to play it off. Like many other times, trying to show that he were always in control of things just ended up with him showing off one of the times when he certainly wasn't.

It didn't help either that when he messed up it tended to be around her too. Heck, just look at this time: he had gotten lost, scrambled his way back towards where he Thought Ponyville were, then fell over a lake that seemed like a somewhat comfy place to get a breather and who did he run into if not Dahlia? He wasn't one to believe in fate, but if that really were a thing, his fate was apparently the type who liked to laugh at him from somewhere up high.

"I weren't messing around when I said this was a safe spot though. Last half-hundred meters is the first time in hours I haven't heard something sneak around. Strange really as I figured that they'd go for the easy trap of a lake where other animals would go for a drink, but who're complaining about not getting eaten, right?"

Where Ashta hadn't been anticipating the potential backlash of his strike, Ko weren't as uninformed about the potential issues around these parts as him. Sure,he might not know the Evergrown race himself either, but the trees that were spewing lightning at him weren't unheard of, and though he had figured he could get a kill in on this one without them interfering and had to jump away and back from them, he were ready enough to do just that: Jump to the side, then go backwards before he got another shot.

If the trees protected this one for now it'd be hard to get a solid blow in on him, but perhaps if he saw his little allies being torn into he'd run away or come closer to try and help. That could give him the final seconds needed for a killing blow.

He had briefly thought of splitting into other spiders, but that were a poor idea when it were harder to avoid things there, and the trees could just end up firing a more broad attack that would eradicate part of him like that. Something that he couldn't change as they had a job to get done.

So with that in mind, the second after the attempt on Seamore he turned towards the other meddler and threw a knife towards the pesky plant thing before jumping into a regular tree. A knife that - as predicted - were deflected by the large vine the thing were using, but had the intended effect of getting his attention briefly away from Ashta who then split up into a myriad of small spiders that began to go towards Briar and surround him. Either they would get to Briar, or he would be distracted enough for the next strikes from Ko that were currently drawing his poisoned blades to end him.

The distraction was further cemented when Ashta's spread out form began to spray webbing towards Briar and Brittle, doing his to both make them stay where they were, and give the distraction needed for his associate to end this swiftly the second it seemed this prey wasn't paying enough attention.

Wane breathed in and out, then glanced again at the Guard.  He had found that he looked more tired than stern.  Granted, his own sleep schedule was rather erratic, since he found work during the day and spent some of the night researching.  Then he looked again.  Another bat pony.  He grinned, as he replied,

"Uh, yeah.  Well, I was just on a quick flight, but I actually have a few questions for you-"

He held his forelegs out, the glow now like moonlight on silver.  The glow gently fluctuated.

"By any chance, have you ever seen others with these marks?  I was told a while back that Ponyville was a magnet for strange magical... things.  I've trying for ages to get an audience with Princess Twilight for her insight, but I could swear she's always on the move around Equestria.  So, until I can get an audience, I've been making do with asking ponies-"

His ears twitched, then flopped down, along with a slightly apologetic look.

"Err, sorry.  Sometimes I get a little carried away.  it's just that I've been trying to figure out these... tattoos?  Glyphs?  I'm not certain what to call them.  I've had them since birth, and I've had the theory that they could be related to cutie mark magic.  Seeing that her Highness is well versed in such concepts, I thought that it would be prudent for me to speak with her."

He shuffled on his hooves.

"So yeah, have you ever seen anything like these?"

Serena waited for the two stallions to enter the shop as well before moving on.

"Brmm bum-da brrmm," sounded Serena, poorly imitating trumpet fanfare, "presenting the spot for sweets in Ponyville!"

Serena gestured for them to follow her as she wandered around the shop looking at the display cases promising such desserts.

"Lemon tarts, cherry pie, sundaes, pecan cheesecake, birthday cake, normal everyday cake, blueberry muffins, apple-scrumptious cupcakes, chocolate-covered bananas... AH HA!"

Serena stopped in front of a particular slice of cake on display, "black forest cake. I've been waiting to get my hooves on this all day."

"Have you two made your choices yet?" asked Serena, squishing her hooves into her face as she looked on excitedly.

@Mentis Soliloquy, @Melke,

"It’s a shame for you lost your head. A careless spider, who wound up dead. You wore your sin like it was some kind of prize. Too many lies… too many lies...." A female voice echoed though the Everfree. Out from the shadows and into the battlefield, A tall figure, draped in a cloak of dark blue strode in, standing before the five six combatants.

"Good evening gentle arachni. I have journeyed here today to end your lives."

"Please excuse my daughter she is in one of her moods." As a cream colored bat pony gently landed next to her. "How ever we are here to cause a ruckus I'm afraid and it wont end so well for those against us." Summer proceed to extend her bladed gauntlets, then looking to her child. "Shall we my dear?"

A few of the crawlerlings continued to move toward Queen Allure in an attempt to tie her hooves together, but the rest moved quickly toward the trapdoor. Once there, they began sealing it off with webs. Inside the chamber, Carl would do what he could to deal with the changelings that had already made their way in while Miststalker fought Priestess. Speaking of which... Being grabbed around the neck by her tail, Miststalker saw one effective option: as Priestess hung below him by her tail, he would let himself drop toward the acid below. He had his mission, and he would achieve it at any cost. One of two things would likely happen: either Priestess would fall into the acid and pull Miststalker with her, or she would have to let go and land on one of the strands of web. If she landed but still held on, she would just be pulled into the acid by his weight and momentum.

Sylar noticed how Penny's blast of magic was slowed well before it hit its invisible target, which indicated that it passed through something. He readied his blades and moved in for the strike. Penny, now seeing both a giant spider and a demonic spirit running in her general direction, teleported away. She ended up on the roof near Zhu. "Helllloooo?" It was an awkward greeting, but such a thing was understandable given the situation. The truth was, she didn't really know what to say, or how to react to what was going on. Meanwhile, as Vivid's charge made contact, so too did Sylar's blades. The combined attacks weakened the beast, and both the pony spirit and his beloved Mona, who hadn't been 'digested' yet, managed to break out of the wound Sylar's enchanted blade caused in a brilliant display of white light, before ascending toward the heavens, reunited at last. The Forgotten One grew extra arms to deal with the extra threats, swinging one toward Vivid, one toward Ink, and one reaching through the Realm of Dreams and pulling Sylar through into it. During it's attack, the wounds healed shut, but not before Charlie's face would emerge shouting, "HEEELLPP MMMEEEEEE!" The skin closed over him, silencing his screams.
