Storm smiled back at the somewhat shy seeming mare, "Nice to meet you Void, I'm Storm Shine and this is my son Grey Sky." He responded, gesturing at himself and the colt sprawled over his head.

"We're here to help with the cooking and stuffs!" Grey chirped happily, fluttering his wings slightly as he clambered up to stand on Storm's head. "Just point the where, and we'll help with the how!" He continued, throwing a limb out; which had the unforeseen consequence of unbalancing him, sending him towards the ground. "Woah!"

"Careful Grey." Storm chuckled slightly, catching him with a wing and setting him down gently. "Don't want you to hurt yourself."

"I need quite a bit more space than you ponies do, and no, I am not related to the dragon lord in any way. Us dragons does not look like our family as much as you might think, and in fact, my own looks nearly nothing like me. Especially not in the brain department. Accursed simpletons..."

The last part were mumbled out as she put down her bag and went over to the table where the crystals were, gently picked up the blue one, and held it between the tip of her claws as she examined it.

"Hmmm, it's slow, but it's settling. Good."

There wasn't any further explanation to it before she put it down again, though she did pause for a bit, eyeing the clear diamond as her brain started to go over a few things regarding the diseased pony she had with her.

"Yes, I think we need to run a test first."

She picked it up, and put it down on the ground closely to Blood.

"It's almost certain that the disease you have are biological in a few ways, but I wonder, might there also be something magical in it? If there is, I need to re-calibrate things to balance this out, and it might make it easier to find a cure. Magical illnesses in any sort of way tend to have natural counters. But I am getting too far ahead of myself. Pick up the gem and focus on it as much as you can please, and we'll see. if it remains clear, it will only be biological, if there is anything magical about it at all, it will absorb at least a trace amount of it. I can dispose of it after that."

Even if nothing happened, she'd likely still have to burn this to remove any trace of something biological, but it could survive a burning, and if something did get into it... Well, she should consider that further incentive to find a new source of these sort of gems soon.

"Whoa whoa whoa, hold on a moment there. Did you just say your name was Deadpan? Like, the comedian?"

Sea Breeze got a look of surprise on his face that Discord himself would likely have thought priceless, before letting out a bit of a laugh and giving the pony a clap on the shoulder.

"Dude, this is awesome. My sister's been in to watch some of your shows and she says you've knocked houses down. Figuratively of course, but still, sweet."

"Yeah well, don't expect him to wake up all too soon. Might be a big dude, but I doubt he's been able to-"

Her words were interrupted violently, when Pyhrus tried to move his front leg, found he were tied down, and then pulled upwards again, though this time with all his trapped limbs.

"Holy guacomo-"

Pyhrus strained his muscles and pulled upwards again, this time freeing his left talon by pulling the hook his chain were attached to out of the floor, which granted, still meant he were in the chains, but at least he wasn't tied to the floor anymore, though he did give quite the scare to the others in the room. or at least to Null, who seemed like she were regretting entering this room right about now.

She wasn't the only one, as Florence looked like she were facing death as her uncle pulled upwards in his legs too, straining the hooks in the floor dangerously this time, though they seemed like they would hold. What didn't hold though, where the bandage around his missing arm that started to leak blood, leaving him to yelp out in pain and fall down, before moving his talon to the deep cut that were close to ripping open again.

"Grrrr, accursed wound..."

If they wanted to stop the griffon - that hadn't opened his eyes thus far and had no idea where he were, mind you - from causing more damage to himself or the floor, they'd likely have to speak up fast to try and calm him before he tried again. Or clock him one, though who were gonna have the guts to do something that stupid?

@@dragon4111,

"I'm fine, t-thank you..."

Long Stare weren't one who really spoke much to anypony, and in fact, Draco was one of the few who even knew what her voice sounded like. Beyond low that were.

Why she lived in town were mostly due to safety reasons, as she'd have to go live in the forest otherwise and that place was scary, but she isolated herself as much as possible in her house, and had done that pretty much ever since she moved here, only coming out now and again to buy a few things, or in cases like this, to help Draco.

She had been terrified of him the first time she had met him. Slinging himself away the way that he did were crazy to her, and the ways he could end up getting injured haunted her mind, making her only give him short glances now and again for at least the first month. Yet, he had stayed, he kept saying hi, so eventually, she tried to speak with him. It took a while before she got any words stammered forth, and even longer before sentences came around, but at this point, she could talk to him somewhat normally, though she still tended to stay in her garden when it were, even after the attack last night had made a mess out of it.

The attacks on town had made her consider moving some times before actually, even if she found the moving part to be horrid, but considering how she at least had somepony to talk to here, she were reluctant to move away. At least as long as Draco were here.

"Y-You made your delivery alright?"

The white mare looked at him with her pale-blue eyes, as she started to pack the net down again, wondering what he would say, and keeping her focus on him as much as possible.

Certainly, she didn't have focus on a certain pony that had been nearby just before when Draco hit the net like an extreme form of soccer, and who now were... Well, he were still on the bench, but the look on his face certainly belonged to a pony that felt the cracks starting to widen in his mind. Where he about to break down? Or were it perhaps just a bit of shock? Hard to tell really, but Draco's arrival had certainly left an impact at least, no pun intended.

@@Lloyd,

"It varies. Some things are but a few decades old, whilst some are several centuries. Why, that statue you can see in the middle of my store? It were crafted in the time when the Castle of Two Sisters were being build, and meant as a gift that were just never delivered. Unfortunate circumstances, but it really does make it one of a kind, and I do so love those things."

She gave a short glance to the only thing in the store that were expensive enough to make even the nobles of Canterlot think it steep, chuckling slightly to herself over something regarding it, likely the story of how she had acquired such a rare object to begin with, though Chow knew better than to try and ask about that as they made their way towards the back room, which were split into two corridors. The one to the left were the things that were being fixed, evaluated, not put in the store yet, etc, and the right one were the path that would lead them to the workers lounge  - which she'd pass without even opening the door and presenting it - and at the end, a luxurious office with plenty of space to walk, sit on the furniture or making business deals of some kind from her desk.

Most things in here were new, but of high quality, with only a few things that looked damaged there, which were likely of sentimental value of some kind, as their price wouldn't be high like that.

"Now please, take a seat, and let us talk. We have plenty of things to go through. Perhaps I could interest either of you in a chocolate truffle?"

She pushed forth a fresh bowl she had of them on her desk towards her guests, though Chow at least didn't take one. he wasn't really much for chocolate, just as he knew that Scarcity wasn't either, though fir different reasons. It were just something to make it more comfortable for whomever entered her office, and she only ate one the few times when she had made a deal that really made her pleased. It made her think a small reward were in order.

She were smart, cunning and at times, the one to drag her down to pay attention to things. Well, when she wasn't freaked out about some big monster that had attacked town that were. That was a... Trying episode, so to speak.

"It's good to hear you feel okay, but if anything gets worse, just lemme know, okay? I'll fix you up. And I wanna help you find your tools too. I bet there's some still around here."

Like a pink, blurry lightning, Ziggy started to xoom around the area around them in her jagged patterns, stopping only briefly now and again when she thought she found something. but not entirely until she had checked nearby and found two things that to her, looked like they might have jumped away from the other tools before.

"These could be yours? They sorta look like they match the other things Serenade found."

She might be wrong and these belonged to somepony else, but that sort of thing happened, and hey, it would still be finding tools when the town were getting assembled again, so it'd be a win no matter what.

@,

Void had taken a step forward when she saw the colt fall down from Storm's head, instinctively wanting to try and grab him, but his father were faster than her and had already gotten a good hold of Grey before he hit the ground.

The situation did look a bit funny though, and a little familiar to her, which made a weak, short-lived laughter escape her. Something which seemed to annoy Last a little.

"Why are you laughing at that? The kid could've gotten injured."

"I-I'm sorry, it's just... My big sister kept falling down from me like that a lot too for some years, and still do it now and again, so it kinda looked... Well, funny. B-But you're right, he could have gotten hurt. I shouldn't... I'm sorry."

She fell down in the mood again when this were brought up, which did make last feel slightly bad about things, but she didn't have the time to feel sorry right now. Like she had with a few others already, she'd save her apologies for Void for later, when the town were rebuild and inspected properly.

"Well, no harm and all that. For now though, I need to get back to the building site. The shift of the others are done in about three hours. Consider that your time limit, though others might come around before that and eat prior to their shift. I'll send them this way if I find any."

With that, she gave a last glance to her surroundings, so she were sure where to direct others, and then walked away, out to do her job somewhere else in town.

It wasn't long after Last had gone, that Void began to speak again.

"I guess we should g-get to work a little. I almost got the tables up, but there's a few more. I wouldn't say no if you'd want to help with that... Please?"

"Sounds like a bully."

Omen had heard words like this before, when others spoke about her master in the years he were imprisoned in stone. That he were intelligent, a monster that made others fear him, knew how to break others, etc. It didn't fit that he had agents around as even the stories tended to get right that he did most, if not all, things by himself, but the things still resonated with her enough to tell what they portrayed, at least in her mind.

A dictator were likely more correct, but that was a term that she had never heard of before, so she couldn't make that connection. The only sort of leaders she tended to hear were lords, ladies and royalty, not horrible beings that led their people by fear and control, among other things. When she did learn of that name and it's meaning though, this would likely come up as a prime example, which would help the learning at least.

"Would finding him help things? Give Sen and Lin answers? You some peace? I can't do many things, but finding others I usually can."

Considering what she had heard, she looked at the elder whilst she asked the question, but her eyes wandered towards her friends afterwards. All of them sounded like they had good reason for wanting to find and ask the former elder about things, but couldn't because he were gone. Which were for once, a time where she could use her natural tracking abilities for something useful, rather than just delivering a letter here and there. Though she could deliver a letter to him too she supposed. It depended on what they'd want with him if it were.

Personally, she'd want him mostly so that she could give him to her master as a new toy, which she had heard before were seen by many as a horrid punishment, which seemed fitting considering it sounded like he had made a lot of trouble.

"Oh no. Oh my poor, sweet machine."

Clockwise ran past both Gordan and Golden as soon as he saw the first signs of the clocks mechanism. Or well, part of it, as it had turned out, which were why he had said what he did before beginning an examination.

It were... Quite the mess, to say the least. The clock were only one of what had to be four or five larger pieces, with smaller parts scattered around it, and the nearby area, and for the untrained eye, it would likely look completely impossible to salvage. But this were one of the reasons why they had a specialist with them after all.

"Okay, it seems only a few parts are actually torn, with most having just gone loose. The frame's a mess and the glass on the clock is completely gone, but... Yes, I can work with this, as long as we find the other parts. And a wagon! We need to get everything back with us too."

"I'll get one. You stay here, and swipe up the parts."

Golden didn't wait for a response before he flew away, and towards the town again, but there wasn't much to say to that either. They had some collecting work to do, and he had to get something they could stash it up into. Seemed straight forward enough.

The mare's ears perked up at the growls, her strong foreleg jerking her brother behind her as she threw off her cloak.  Sunlight shimmered off of a mythril breastplate, finely polished and engraved with various motifs.  From upon her back, the mare swung down a large maul, cradling it in a foreleg as she glared at the encroaching beasts.

Just then however, she noticed the filly chasing them off.  A slight blush came to her face as she realized that she just showed her entire hoof in vain.  She sighed deeply and swung the maul onto her back.  "Thank you," she grumbled.  "I wish you would have told us you could have done that sooner."  She picked up her cloak and threw it over her haunches.  No point putting it back on at this point.

The two entered the house and looked around.  It was dusty, as could be expected, but still livable.  The stallion turned up his nose, but the mare did not seem at all disturbed.  "Not bad," she mused.

"You must be joking," her brother scoffed.  "This will give me lice!"

"Not likely."

"Then ticks!"

"Quit whining."  The mare wandered over to a nearby couch and threw herself down, sending up a cloud of dust that sent her into a sneezing fit.  Her brother scoffed and headed upstairs.

"So," the mare began, looking to the filly.  "Considering how much you've helped us so far, did we ever tell you our names?  Our real names?"

Pick up the gem and focus on it as much as you can please

Blood Drops nodded at her answers, after all sometimes ponies didn't look like there parents either. She surely didn't, she didn't know who she inherited her green and grey mane from anyway. She moved towards the gem. It was shiny, she stared at it. That was the limit of her focus, she then bent her head and licked it. it wasn't that nice just tasted like glass. She frowned and picked it up in her mouth her teeth grinding against it, she blinked at the dragon.

"Like this?" she grumbled around the rock, she blinked she must look rather silly holding a gem in her mouth. Though she focused on the gem giving it a good licking with her tongue. She wanted to put it back down, but she waited for the dragon to do her thing.

"You can count on us!" Storm replied happily, giving a quick salute before hopping over to work on the tables.

Grey, meanwhile, walked up to Void. Patting her wooden leg twice as both an act of comfort and a means to get her attention, he spoke. "Don't feel bad about laughing Miss Void, Dad and I are pretty resilient, so we both laugh small hurts off pretty easy, and we both prefer that ponies laugh and be happy rather than sad and downy.." He stifled a chuckle with his hoof, "One time, Dad accidentally fell out of bed... Through the window! Didn't find out until morning, when he flew in to make breakfast with some twigs in his hair. Apparently, he fell - which was pretty far, since it's a cloud house. - Bounced off the ground twice or so, he guessed from how much further away from the house he was, and kept on sleeping until morning." Grey couldn't hold it in anymore, remembering the silly story and the way his dad looked all sleepy and twig-maned, he began laughing, rolling around on the ground. "He ended up moving the bed and making the window smaller~!"

"Grey!" Storm called over, "Don't forget we have to help out! Laughing and having fun is great, but we also have to make sure the work gets done!"

Grey got ahold of his laughter after another minute or two, "I know dad!" He called back happily, before turning back to Void, "The point is, you don't have to worry too much, it'd take something pretty serious. Twilight's convinced that Dad's made at least partially out of rubber!" He giggled again before flashing her a quick smile and scampering off to help out with the tables.

"Bully doesn't even begin to describe him; he was a monster. It's a lot more complicated than just finding my predecessor." There's got to be a method to this and even if we find him, his agents, his supporters, will know about it. Sooner or later-"

Lin raised her voice and interjected, caring not for what ifs and respect. The image she had of Ghilan when they first met started to crumble into a complacent whiner whose attitude would've been enough for anyone to reconsider their vote almost immediately.

"Sooner or later, he will strike and you will regret this inaction simply because you couldn't decide! The villagers who support you now look up to you to guide them. You mustn't let them down now or all of this would be for nothing."

The elder looked back to the village with the square in sight. The very same one he stood in the night Sen was exiled. He could see his father running from the back of the crowd, pushing his way to the front and yelling from the top of his lungs to reconsider under threat of a beatdown. He never got the chance, though. He was whisked away by the hunters while Sen's mother wept. There were others who jeered at Sen, taunting him about how he could not survive more than a month away from home. Then more followed, the same story all over again and the more it happened, the more fearful the critics became. The elder shuddered the thought of that happening once again.

"It's not going to be of much help right now but if you want some answers, try the archives in the communal huts. There are several memory flowers there that have the recorded voices of my predecessor and his accomplices on them. It should give you something to work with. What they wouldn't see from that angle, however, would be a notch in the other side of the tree, cut to control the direction the tree would fall. The notch was higher up than where Miles had his horn, but this was so Seamore could cut well above him, therefore lessening the risk that the weight might shift and cause more damage.

Trinket tilted her head slightly. "Familiar?..." She asked, digging deep inside her memory to try and find anything resembling that pony in front of her. Something about her did seem off, but nothing else really struck her as familiar. At least not immediately. "Do you happen to know about the store? Yeah, it's... well... it's sorta popular, I guess." She gave her best attempt at modesty.

"Anyway, I haven't really eaten anything yet, no. But I need to finish working first. I guess I'll be done in like... two... three... four... five hours... maybe." She sighed, getting tired just thinking about it.

@Hazard Time

(before entering the house)

"Well, nopony ever believes me when I say the wood puppies don't wanna play with me anymore, so I stopped telling it and just let it happen. I wish the wood puppies would play a little though. Been months since they started to run away, and i only tossed a few bombs at them."

She were about to say more, and then ask about the huge hammer and the shiny metal armor the mare wore, but the two of them had already gone in towards the house, so it slipped from her mind as she jumped inside after them. It'd come back anyway. Potentially.

(after the entered the house)

Blitz scratched her head and pondered for a bit, then shook her head before letting out a sneeze of her ownn from the whirling dust..

"I don't think you did. You kept calling yourself weird things and not wanting to say, so I sorta just thought of you as Grumpy and Scaredy-cat."

@BloodDrops

Nerzhei shook her head a little, wanting to say in a few ways how this was so very wrong, but knowing that she only had herself to blame. She hadn't been specific enough in her request, so of course her strange guest would not do it in the exact way she had hoped.

"No, not like that. You need to hold it in your hoof, and then focus on it as much as you can while there is physical contact. If there is anything magical about your illness, it will follow the focus and leave at least a slight trace, which will be seen by the gem changing colors. If it doesn't, it is purely biological, and we can take it from there then."

She took one of the other gems that were on the table and showed what she meant, by putting it in her hand before she started pretending to concentrate on it a lot. Pretend only though, as otherwise she could end up accidentally doing something... Bad with this gem, as the one in question were already filled with energy.

It would have been easier to explain these sort of things if Blood had been the sort of creature that had hands, but she had dealt with Breezies before, as well as having read up on pony physiology a few times, so she knew that Equine hooves were usable as hands too, to a certain extend. Exactly how had taken her a bit of time to figure out, but it had been an interesting learning experience.

                             =============================================================================

Void cheered up a little and even let out a small laugh as she heard the story from Grey. Not so much so that she lost the nervous aspect of herself, but she looked to be more akin to the just slight nervousness when they found her, rather than what she had ended up as, and the depressed part had diminished greatly. All in all, a good job by Grey, considering what he had to work with here.

"T-Thank you Grey. Sometimes, it t helps to hear things like this, but I think your dad's right. We should uhm... Get to work, yes..."

She paused at the end, and looked between Grey and Storm, seeing the connection between father and son and thinking back a little on a time where she had a tinge of that in her own life. A time long gone, but it was a nice memory in a sea of horrid ones, even if it wasn't as obvious as with these two.

Storm and Grey were openly close, and you could see they loved to hang out with eachother, whilst herself and her dad... It had been complicated, but she knew he had done everything he could within the limits he had to work with, all the way towards the end. It was a time she missed for mostly that reason alone, but not one she thought of that many times, unless she gazed upon what seemed like a kind, loving family. Though, this family were incomplete. There was a father, there were his son, but one thing were missing in that equation. It might be a bad time to ask about this when Grey could hear it though, in case it was a touchy subject, but... Well, she could always try and speak with Storm a little on his own perhaps?

Usually she didn't react much on her curiosity, but most ponies in this town had been nice so far, so the worst that could happen here were hopefully that he didn't want to tell, and they'd just move past it. Other places she sometimes had to deal with aggressive ones, ranging from a sneer and all the way to... No, she didn't want to think on that. Not when the mood were okay around her.

Wandering closer to the two, she cleared her throat slightly and took a deep breath, before looking at Grey.

"There's a pony helping with the cooking that uhm... I think it was Granny Smith she called herself, and she were preparing some apples for pies. Perhaps you could help her with that Grey, whilst Storm, you could help me get the last tables that needs to be set up? I-If that's not an issue of course."

There was a slight smirk on her face when she looked at Storm, and imagined him bouncing around like in Grey's story, but she couldn't help it. it was a funny visual.

@dragon4111

Long Stare blushed as she walked forward a little and took the ring from Draco's hoof.

"T-Thank you."

The ring were not of much monetary value, as the obsidian diamond that were placed in it wasn't of a particularly popular kind, so the price were low, but it were a piece that she had been looking for some times over the years for sentimental value. That being, the ring her grandfather had once given to her grandmother, that had been stolen ten years before this.

Her parents had long since given up on trying to find it again, but she had wanted this relic of their family back, and her sister... Well, Scarcity and her didn't talk much, but they did write a lot of letters and were on good terms with eachother, and the mare had had feelers out for this particular piece for a long time, waiting for something to bite. Which finally had happened, a month ago, when she had spotted it at a trip to a pawn shop in Manehatten. Stare had no idea if her sister ever found out how it had gotten there in the first place, but it was one of those things she didn't ask either. Her sister had some uhm... She was a great problem solver, let it be kept at that.

"You want me w-with you? I uhm... O-Okay."

Usually she didn't want to leave her home that much, but when it was Draco that asked... He were always so nice to her. The least she could do were to try and be a little bit more social with him, right?

Thinking on that a bit more she went inside her house for a little to place the ring somewhere safe, before after about a minute, returning outside, locking her door and wandering over to Draco.

"Let's uhm... Get going then."

"Fillydelphia, about two years ago. She's still stitching up sometimes when she thinks about it. Oh man I swear, she's not going to believe this when I get back home again."

The thought alone, where he told her that he had met her idol... Really, if it weren't because of the horrible circumstances, he'd be asking for an autograph to shoe in her face. Not that he didn't like his sister, but sometimes the sibling rivalry went a little far between them.

"Do I look fine, pony?"

Pyhrus hadn't opened his eyes when he said this, but he could hear it in the voice. Ponies had a particular tinge in their voice when they spoke that other races didn't, though he wasn't going to discuss analytical behavior with one of them. Especially not when he felt like his shoulder had been inches away from just ripping itself off and asking him to bite it.

He'd open his eyes after that and look around, getting a first impression of the room. There seemed to be the pony that had talked with him nearby, with another pony standing in the corner and looking at him. The room itself seemed to be some sort of hospital room for all he could tell, but he still heard and felt the chains rattling around his limbs, so frankly, he wasn't totally convinced this were really that just yet.

His mind began to go clear about what this place where when his eyes fell on another being in the room, and got a quick look of surprise and horror before his red eyes seemed to flare with hatred.

"You dare to bring up her, you accursed little object? You think this will help you break me?"

Florence looked baffled and horrified, as a hatred the like of which she had never seen with him before, roared in her uncle's eyes. It especially didn't help that she didn't have any idea what he were going on about. Who did he talk to? And what object? Questions she hadn't any idea how to answer, but made sense to at least one other in this room, who then raised her voice some.

"Yo, Professor Numbskull. this isn't one of the whip's attempt to get to you. I already removed it from you. This is reality."

"This is nothing of the sort."

"And why can't you believe that? Isn't the pain indicator enough?"

"The pain can be faked. She can't. Not when I know she's dead."

He strained against the telekinetic power holding him in place whilst he got flipped up on the beds again where he had been before, which should be felt by Zen whilst it went on, and might refrain him from letting go of the griffon afterwards, just in case he'd lash out against him. He wouldn't though, but who were to say Zen would take the chance?

@@Driz,

@@Moonlit,

"Wait, you make toys? And Serenade knows you? Awesome!"

Ziggy's eyes got filled with wonder. The odds of this meeting happening were pretty low all things considered, but then it came forth that this pony also made toys? She loved toys! Especially the kind that had a lot of movement to them. Those had always been a big hit back at the hospital, and when she tried to cheer up foals these days, they still did well in helping her entertain them. It wasn't always needed, like when she had played with the Cake Twins, but she'd rather have the tools for fun and not need them, than needing the tools for fun and not having them.

Back to the current situation though, and beyond the fact that there was a toymaker within reach of her, Serenade had gotten a bit stern in it with the two of them. Or well, not really stern, but more controlling in things, though the things she said made a lot of sense. She really should take a nap, even if she still had some energy to go around, after this night, and she would lie if she said she wasn't hungry after this long night, so...

"Okay mom. Want me to do my homework too?"

Ziggy giggled whilst she bounced slightly over to Serenade and nuzzled the hidden siren's head with her own. This was gonna be fun. And relaxing, if you counted the nap. Or well, depended on if she'd be gnawed on in her sleep. Fah'lina might not want her asleep right now, but they'd see. Poor little thing could likely use some sleep herself.

"Are you sure you can't take a tiny, itsy bitsy break Trinket? Pleeease? It'll be good for you to have a small breather."

@@cwhip9,

Zinthar kept quiet when the colt was in the room, not wanting to let loose his tongue about his captivity in the dreamworld around others if it could be helped, minus Crescent who already knew. After all, he had been a great part of the reason why he had finally managed to get out of that cage.

He didn't have to wait long, as Cover-up just nodded a little and said he'd try the trampoline then, before wandering off towards the lever once more. The colt would drop the quill on his side first, obviously, or it'd end up a right mess, but it likely wouldn't be long before the noise of something bouncing would reach them.

"Remember Crescent, I was never in any dreams before you came around. I was trapped in that Purgatory where the only influence of dreams were the pathetic, mindless aberrations that wandered the nearly endless tunnels, like the dragon you saw. If I had seen dreams, I would have known more than I do now about this world, and perhaps have a grasp of how time had passed instead of having it hit me like a wall."

Wandering a little closer, Zinthar rose on his limber body towards the dish as it currently were, and sniffed the things little. It were... Different than he had thought. less like soggy bread as he had expected, and more rich and aromatic, if you combined things brought forth thus far. It also helped that the meat had been added, that were for sure, though... He would say it missed a little something.

"Interesting, but I think it needs more spice. Garlic perhaps? Starswirl tended to like to add that to food. He said it brought a lot of good out in the dishes."

"I can find him, if I have something to track. Mother calls it life energy, but I just know I can feel it, wherever in this world it is. Like yours elder. I know your energy now, so if I need to, I could find you, from now, and until the day you are gone."

It wasn't meant to sound somewhat sinister like that, but it were the fact of the matter. Omen's kind were great for delivering messages because they could track the energy efficiently like that, and couldn't get rid of the *smell* from their targets again. Only if something in their life energy changed, like it had with Lin, but the odds of that happening were small.

She wished to say something about what Lin had as well, and follow up on the conclusion she had made that inaction would be bad, but really... She couldn't think of anything to add to it. it sounded like it covered things well, yes? So if she said something more, it'd just be the same, and it would be pointless. It b´was better they spent that time on other things really, like her quickly explaining about her tracking to Ghilan. It might not make much sense now, but it was the best she really could say about it, as the only one she knew off that truly had any idea how their tracking worked, were Mother.

"If their voices is somewhere, perhaps it haves some of his energy there? Or something else perhaps. Either way, sounds like a place. But where is that place? Do you know, Lin?"

Omen turned to Lin as she poke, and looked at her sister curiously and expectantly. Whatever would happen now, she'd guess that either her, or Sen, would take the reigns of it soon. Especially when it came to finding things in this place, as she would likely just walk past it for days without having any clue it were what she looked for.

@@Lloyd,

Scarcity let out a low, pearly laughter at seeing the youngsters enjoy their little treat.

"Why of course, take as many as you wish. I am not much for them personally, and just keep them as treats for my guests. I would want them to feel comfortable after all, and especially when they are friends with my dearest Double Chow.

As for your previous question, the ways I acquire my antiques vary. Some are simply from families who are down on their luck and wishes to sell some of their valuables to somepony who will give them a fair price, others through auctions, some through simply paying the right price at the right time,a nd so forth. It is really a boring thing to discuss, but let it be known that I know how to keep track of something that could be a good investment. Like say, a certain shop that were formerly owned by a griffin-raised pony."

It seemed Scarcity moved away from the question without really answering much before directing it at Chow, but he wasn't surprised. Frankly, he were amazed it went this far before she brought this up.

"Mind me asking why? I thought I made it clear that I'd never return to this town when I left."

"And yet, here you are. Not for the reasons I expected, but still, it panned out that my predictions were right in the end."

"I don't follow."

"You want to move back to your home Chow. You always made that painfully clear, and for that you need good profit. In Canterlot you could have that, but left because the town wasn't for you, so instead you placed yourself in the little town of Ponyville, and tried to make due there. Something I hear have been... Strenuous at times, yes?"

"Okay, hold on, how in the sky did you know I was in Ponyville?"

"I have a relative that lives there that mentioned seeing you, so I got my information. And it quickly got clear that with the process you made, it would take upwards of ten years before you would be able to return. That is, if the villagers hadn't run you out before, as it sounds like a certain Fluttershy wasn't all too thrilled about you being in town, and with her being a local heroine and all... Hmhmhm, let's just say that I had several scenarios in mind quickly that all resulted in you one day returning here, and as such, I made a minor investment and bought the store. It was barely a drop in the ocean for me, and neither have it been to keep it clean in preparations for when you'd return."

So she had known this whole time, and prepared for him... Son of a haystack, how many steppes ahead where she even at this point? Had she planned out how long he would be in town? And what about the store? Why where she so certain that he wanted it back?

"...What have you done, Scarcity?"

The mare let out a pearly laughter and pulled a set of papers out from under her desk before placing them down so she were sure he could see it, and gave him a slightly triumphant look.

"Simply protected my investment. With so many frowning on animal slaughter, the places where you can legally have one of these places without it attracting ire have been reduced. Why, I believe there is only one place beyond that store of mine that can be used that is still for sale, and I believe my courier have already made sure to sent my bid on that property to it's current owner. I could always use a warehouse after all."

"You created a monopoly, by making sure there were only one place it could be located that wasn't in use?"

"In essence, yes. I could tell you the whole tale, but that would hardly be of any value, now would it? What is of value though, is that I currently have the deed to the only place you can legally set up shop in Canterlot again, which I have thus far refused to have run by a griffin or something else that could do your former job somewhat well, as I expected you to come back, and wanted to give you a fair chance. A chance that does come under certain... Terms though."

The look on her face really told how much she enjoyed sitting with so many of the cards on her hoof, though thus far she had still kept nice, even when holding a stranglehold on what Chow could do, now that he were back in town. Made you wonder what those terms would end up being, eh?

@@Blitz Boom,

(How can ponies pick stuff up in there hooves?)

Blood Drops blinked confused still holding the gem in her mouth, she placed it on the floor, it was sticky with her saliva. She looked at her hooves and then at the gem, she needed two hooves to pick it up, and at least three to stand up. She frowned, she was a hoof short. It would be easier if she was a Unicorn, but she wasn't. She put one hoof on it and tried to lift it with just the one hoof, she managed to kick it several hoof steps forward. She then tried again resulting in it being kicked across the cave, she snorted angrily. This would take awhile.

Blood wedged the gem against the cave and began lifting it, she then pressed her body against the gem wedging it. Then she blinked, she had it but not in her hoof. She let it fall to the floor and tried again, with another approach. She used two hooves to pick it up and fell over onto her side, though she had it in her hoof still. She blinked up at the dragon. "I got it" she grinned. She then concentrated on it, waiting to see if it changed color or not.

It didn't seem to do anything so she licked it again, she liked to lick things. "Is it working she asked?" she had got bored of concentrating on the gem, it was rather dull.
