碇 シンジン 27,431 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 What do you guys think about my country, Finland? What do you know about Finland? What light my country has been brought to you in your country? I think my country is kinda safe place for me to live in. There are many forests and lakes and the nature shines. I think people here in general are maybe bit quiet around strangers and they don't force their opinion above others, but there can be people who don't fit this generalization. Here are some things that I think Finland is known. I don't know how my country is presented in other countries so I would like you to tell me what do you think about my country? Also if you want to ask me anything about Finland or finnish language I can try my best to to answer your question. 9 Rarity Fan Club

Darker 1,351 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 Angry Birds is one of the most entertaining games ever. Senseless fun, just like Mario or Tetris. Also, even though I never had anything with Nokia, I've hear a lot of good things about it. What do I think of Finland? That is most likely a beautiful place. 1 Overlord of Darkness Signature made by: Astral Blitzen http://mlpforums.com/user/24786-astral-blitzen/

Andaasonsan 3,205 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 I've got a vague impression of where it is from playing Diplomacy, and I've talked to other Finlanders online and they seem cool. Beyond that your country is just too peaceful and nice to make the news so I don't think it really makes an impression on Americans: good or bad. 1 Application REJECTED! Wind Chaser 4,768 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 I hear their education system is the envy of the world, and for completely different reasons than the East Asian countries, also great rally & racing drivers come from there like Toomas Heikkenen and Kimi Raikkonen, home of Nokia which is now part of the Microsoft empire and whose brand is now unfortunately being phased out and renamed Microsoft Mobile, I think there are reindeer there , one of my DeviantArt friends ( http://forgotten-remnant.deviantart.com/ ) lives there, @SparklingSwirls likes their music, and Finland's name was used as an interjection by Patrick Star in one episode of SpongeBob, and subsequently appeared in a SpongeBob joke book as a favorite vacation spot for fish.
Not_active 732 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 (edited) Even though I live close to Finland, I don't hear much from them. When I hear the word Finland, I think of forests, lakes, saunas...and Moomin, a show I loved to watch in my younger days. I've never been in Finland, but I'd like to visit. The language is funny too...perkele <3 Also, I LOVE the finnish candy known as Tyrkisk Peber http://cdn.fazer.com/cdn-1caa5779ef8441e/Global/Finland/Tyrkisk%20Peber/FC_TyrkiskPeber_Brand.jpg Edited September 21, 2014 by RaveLow 1 Ask me something: https://mlpforums.com/topic/116567-ask-ravelowif-you-want-to-3/page-2 <3 :*
SparklingSquirrels 21,345 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 Windy is right! My favorite song is Finnish; it's called "Puhu äänellä jonka kuulen". Actually, it's not so much the music as it is the Finnish language that I love; it's so beautiful, although I've given up any hope of ever learning it. ANyway... I've heard Finland is a country with low corruption and a great education system; I've heard it has a lot of lakes and nature, and it being a nordic country makes it have a high standard of living. The only Finn I knew very well online was actually rather rude, but I don't like to fit entire groups of people into acting in a way that only one person did. Also, saunas . I really want to visit Finland someday 1 ֍֎֍֎

Espurr 449 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 From what I've heard, Finland is a very nice place. It'll probably be freezing winter because it's so high up (right?) but it sounds like a nice place. I don't really know if it's a popular tourist kind of a place, but if I had one reason to go, I'd be because of the snow. I used Nokia for a while and I played angry birds once or twice (but who hasn't?) and I suppose it is a cool place. My question for you. Is there really great chocolate there? Finland seems like a place that should have chocolate. Also what languages do you guys speak? 1 I don't care what pony you like because I like everypony! Mephala 2,633 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 Best country on the planet, 10/10. I've visited there once for a month, and it was the best month of my life. I plan on moving there one day, probably when I retire. Love it. Great people, great cities, beautiful landscape. 10/10 flawless. <3

Here most popular chocolate is Fazers chocolate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fazer . I think they make pretty good chocolate. Well we speak here mostly Finnish here, but we have 2 official languages and the second one is Swedish. We are forced to learn it at school, but no one ever uses it so I don't see the real reason why it has to be official language. Invincible 2,091 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 As a denizen of a country with long, hot summers and harsh climates, i can tell you most of the people around here consider Scandinavian countries to be colder than they'd like. Personally, however? I love the cold weather. From the scarce encounters i had with the Finnish, they often struck me as nice people who are generally witty, but also joyful and happy. That's just my own impression; it's obvious every individual can be as diverse and as different as the earth is from the sky. For what it's worth, it's presented rather well (at least in my opinion) in Israel. 1 My OCs for Roleplay purposes: o Lit Fuse (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lit-fuse-r6608) o Dust Devil (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/dust-devil-r7357)

Nulln 755 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 I would have never heard of it if my 6th grade teacher didn't force me to do a country report on it when all the countries i wanted were taken. I'm really glad she did. It sounds like somewhere I'd absolutely love to live, but it's near impossible to find somewhere to learn the language here.
碇 シンジン 27,431 September 21, 2014 Author Share September 21, 2014 So is Swedish a hard language to learn would say? I wouldn't say that it's hard. I probably could learn it if I wanted, but I don't like that language. I think that is because it has been labeled negative here and you are forced to learn it. I don't like being forced so that maybe has affected my motivation on learning it. But as for a outsider to learn that language I don't know because if you speak different language as your native language you need to approach that language differently and I can't help you much with that. But I believe it can be easier for a English speaker to learn than it is to Finnish speaker. Rarity Fan Club
Magpie 623 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 I have no strong opinions one way or the other. I know of one person from Finland (Sim Gretina, youtube musician.) and other than that I don't really have any relation to Finland. I conquered freed them from Russia in Victoria 2, if that means anything. Only because I wanted their land.
Shanks 10,816 September 21, 2014 Share September 21, 2014 Finland rarely even makes the news where I live here in America so what most Americans know is a bit limited I know more about what goes in world affairs than most people and I will admit I don't know that much about Finland. I never knew that one of the largest cell phone companies and that Angry Birds came from Finland. What I do know about Finland is that it is a small Nordic country located near Norway and Sweden and has a similar culture, political system and economy to those countries though I am sure there are some differences as well. I know that as a region those particular countries tend to have somewhat socialistic democratic economies with fairly liberal social policy. What I like about these countries is that they tend to mind their own business overseas which is something I wish my country would do. The founding fathers have given many warnings again entangling alliances and not being the police of the world which are being increasingly ignored with grave consequences. 1 Rarity Get's Cockroaches

The Crimson Cross 7,532 September 22, 2014 Share September 22, 2014 Honestly, I have heard hardly anything about Finland, so I basically know nothing about it as of now. ReverseFaller 2,483 September 22, 2014 Share September 22, 2014 What do I know, and or think about Finland? They have a lot of lakes. (As does the state I live in, Minnesota.) There's a place in my state called Finland. I've heard they don't like Russians. It's Scandinavian, so it's probably a good place to live. 1 Credit for the signature goes to Kyoshi
