I Think the Big Bad should be some sort of stalker. And in a mysterious figure will appear in 10 episodes. This arc thing is going really well. Ah well. At least I got doctor who to watch in the mean time!!! The search for gallifrey begins while twilight struggles with her identity.

Thanks! Yay! Now I know when season 5 is coming out and the plot to Equestria Girls i.e how Twilight and Sunset Shimmer are involved. Wonder how they contact Twilight to go into the human world again…maybe Pinkie or Sunset go into Equestria to find Twilight? Sorry off topic. But so happy season 5 is coming out in 2014!! Whoo!! So... a trip to the store to get clothes for my kids for school brought up an interesting thing, which I unfortunately wish I had my cell phone on me in order to get a picture of it.

In short, I'm wondering if Twilight Sparkle is getting a bit of a makeover this season, because I found a shirt of Twilight, with a copyright date of 2014, pictured as the alicorn we know...

you know in the animatic, Spike was saying all that stuff about him and Big Mac having a guys weekend to talk about hoofball, trade hoofball cards, argue over hoofball stats, etc. am I the only one who thinks Spike might have just said all that to get Fluttershy out of the house so he can have it to himself for a while? Mac doesn't seem like the hoofball loving type. he seems too gentle.

Alright, just finished Pilot.  Excellent pilot, but not the best possible pilot.  Nonetheless I really enjoyed it.  8/10.

There is only one thing that worries me:

What if Hasbro pushes the MLP team to work faster, so they would have it before Christmas?

This may be not such large a problem, but it may mean that at least the first few episodes, or even the whole season, may be done hurried and not with enough care to make them great.

Therefore, I hope the season really starts in November, and the crew had enough time to make it epic.

Hm.. Well I too don't particularly want MLP to be "rushed" per se. What with the arrival of Rainbow Rocks, I don't particularly wish to see any lowering in quality of the show.

 

I'm not sure about the accuracy of november but I hope they release it a bit later and take their time.

It looks like a male alicorn. When I first watched the animatic, I had thought that all ponies in the town were alicorns, and was confused as to why the attention was focused on the cutie marks as opposed to the magic and stuff. Upon further thought, the wings and horn are probably just there because they haven't decided what type of pony the stallion should be; he appears in a later frame without a horn. Might be an oversight, but it's unlikely--still, I thought it worth pointing out.

 

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to season five. I've liked the show more and more with each passing season, so here's hoping this one doesn't let us down!

I haven't been keeping up on the updates, so forgive me if this has already been discussed.  But am I the only one who's actually sort of dreading the new season?  I was one of apparently only a few people who was really disappointed with the series finale season 4 finale, both because of its obvious money-grab at the end with the weird crystal palace replacing Twilight's library, and because it was too much too soon.  I'm having a hard time getting psyched up about a new season where they somehow have to account for all that, or else do an obvious retcon.

Interestingly, you're saying pretty much exactly what I said last year when we were all debating Twilicorn. I had been saying the show had tons of promise and lots of new avenues to explore with Twilight's ascension, but then Season 4 came along and I was really disappointed with what they did with her (specifically what they DIDN'T do). And the finale of Season 4 was an order of magnitude more dramatic, with even bigger implications, not to mention setting the bar even higher for the next season. I'm just having a hard time seeing how they can keep up this momentum.
