So I was just chilling in a chat room on a non-pony forum when there was only two other people left on one was afk so it was just me and one other guy I got bored and told him I was of to watch ponys. "ponys?" he asked, I said yes and showed him some fan work. He started finding stuff on his own but before I knew it he was in the .MOV series then the animations for gory fanfics. Just before I left in shame, he told me was a writer and writing gory fanfics would be a nice challenge. Great.

Juuuuust perfect, and now we get more people doing things like that due to misconceptions. Dont worry it wasn't your fault. Sometimes its just inevitable.

That's still another brony right? I like those bloody fanfic guys more than those weird pony-porn weirdos.

 

bloody fanfic guys vs weird pony-porn weirdos isn't really much of a choice though I suppose I agree bloody fanfic is better than pony-porn, I just hope that at some point the aspiring gory writer actually takes the time to watch the show itself and not just fan-work, otherwise we may end up with gory meta-fanfics where the characters are based on characters in fanfics based on characters in the show.

On a related note, I think that the .MOVs get too much criticism. The creator is not a troll, as shown in a piece he wrote about why he watches MLP. Their content is certainly NSFW, but, frankly, it is just average inappropriateness for the Internet. For the pony community, though, the series is certainly more...avante-garde. The gore seen in the the third video is certainly quite gratuitous, but at leas they have a comic aspect, unlike the infamous, nightmare-inducing fanfic "Cupcakes".

 

And shipfics can be far more terrifying than the more famous NSFW content (I'm reminded of a TomxBloomberg ship, the horror...).

 

By the way, I just noticed that avatars have been flipped upside down for April Fool's Day...

At least you can get some sort of a laugh out of gory fanworks, like shed.mov, for example.

i personally LOVE the .MOV series. I think it's funny. "I think she said we're always welcome in her shed!" lol. And Cupcakes did not give me nightmares in the least. But My Little Dashie did make me cry.

I find Hot Diggety Demon's series harmless enough, though I guess it would be pretty alarming to the target demographic. Dude has flash skills though, got to give him that. And he is a friend of Mega64 so...yeah. That 2001 allusion in APPLE.MOV kind of won me over, I really found SHED upsetting, but only in that "Happy Tree Friends" way, which is easily dismissable as juvenile. Same with "Cupcakes". Just silly parody, people's anger and aggression clashing with pure optimism and good cheer. Fascinating in a way.
