Maybe 20 minutes ago instead of 10, but I was trying to fix up my church's roof. Well, not "fix" it per se, but fix it up enough to fend off any rain we might get before people can come out and actually fix it.

Bearing the weight of my boyfriend's depression. I really wish he would just understand that he means so much to me, and that his perceived shortcomings aren't as much shortcomings as they are self-criticisms of himself and that I have different problems that are as bad as his if not worse.

 

I think if I didn't already know myself first hand, this would make me learn that depressed people are their own worst critics.

I was brushing up on some Japanese, but I had to knock off an inch-thick coat of mental rust because I let myself lapse for about three weeks.

Still wrestling with the new suspension units for my motorcycle trailer. The bearings & hubs were in separate pieces & had to be assembled. Not too much of a problem, except the business of torquing them up, this is where the 'say something random "70 Nm"' comes from. Supposed to wind up the nut to 70 Nm then turn the hub once, then slacken off to finger tight only. Well, A. I can't get 70 Nm, the torque wrench should do it, but my bench vice doesn't feel like it will

B. at only 30 – 40 I can't turn it, at least by hand. So slackened it off until I could turn it, & hope that will be good enough.

The fixing plate bolts holes are in the same places & fit. This good. However the swingarms are slightly different, slightly longer and shallower ange. This is ... I am having to get creative with shimming...

Now, one side is a quarter inch lower than the other...

Does it notice that much? I dunno, but just bugs me knowing that it is.

On the bright side, the tires look more central in the wheel arches compared to before with the original fitted units (which are basically wrong, max weight spec s too high), which is good.

Feeling my boyfriend's depressive mood.  One thing you learn being in a relationship with an emotionally unstable or depressed person: you feel what they're feeling too, and sometimes it hurts, but the best thing you can do is power through it and try to be as supportive as you can or as they'll let you be in some cases.

It's the same with my girlfriend; she suffers from bad anxiety and depression.

Yeah my BF gets really depressed sometimes... He goes to type in stuff like "I've lost interest in everything I used to love" and "Life feels pointless" in Google's search and it really worries me. And when I try to comfort him he acts like I'm not even there.  He takes anti-depressants for it, but sometimes that doesn't seem to be enough.
