I want to emigrate, but to where should I immigrate?

As far as my knowledge goes, Russia is still attempting to obtain Finland as Russian soil

With Putin back, I'd stay far away from Russia as possible.

A place where you can learn to spell "immigrate". I wouldn't make a big deal, if you didn't spell it TWO DIFFERENT WAYS in the title.

It's adorable how educated and kind you are.

From dictionary.com:

em·i·grate

verb (used without object), -grat·ed, -grat·ing.

to leave one country or region to settle in another; migrate: to emigrate from Ireland to Australia.

im·mi·grate

verb (used without object)

to come to a country of which one is not a native, usually for permanent residence.

Therefore, I plan to emigrate from my native country, and it does not matter to where I go - emigrate means I am leaving from here. I need to pick a specific country to immigrate there. Once in that new country, I will be an immigrant in that new country, yet an emigrant from my own.

I'll pretend English is not your native language and forgive your unkind tone. You might want to double check yourself next time ;)

Pinkie Pie is my favoritest of the mane six for several reasons, but most importantly because she always has a good attitude. The others can doubt her, say somewhat unkind things, not believe her, and she just rolls with it. I also love her because her self-defined purpose in life is to make others happy. I believe her balloons cutie mark actually represents her uplifting others. Her amazing dimension bending and psychic powers are a factor, too :) When poor Pinkie Pie looses her mind, well, it is quite humorous. She has her own depression demons to fight, yet focuses on others. The world will be a better place when she succeeds in breaking that 4th wall! >:D

If you like Austrailia, consider New Zealand as well. All the hobbit movies were filmed there. Don't know much else but it looks to be a cool place.

Those two places are pretty big on internet censorship, so...

The UAE.

Definitely.

No taxes, awesome architecture and biggest mall in the world.

Man-made island.

Number one in PCGDP.

Just lots of nice things, really.

As a female fleeing a country with females being oppressed, I'm not sure that would be my happiest choice. I have seen news articles about foreign couples being punished for small bits of public displays of affection, as well as imprisoned because it had been assumed the couple had slept together before marriage (although it came out later that the couple was already married). Plus issues of the woman being punished when raped. I'd fear making an innocent, ignorant-of-their-culture mistake. Thank you for the suggestion, though. I'm sure it is a beautiful place, and I have heard amazing things about it.

Come to Norway, it's nice to live here, but don't count on the politicans, they suck :P And where in Sweden was in your mind? Don't ever go to Malmo, it's an aweful place. But yeah both Sweden And Norway are very simular, but Norway got taller mountains. Sweden have better roads and politicans, but if you are interested in beautiful nature I would love to see you here in Norway :)

I have sucky politicians where I live, and I do not wish to deal with more sucky politicians. As for Sweden, I was thinking south enough to not freeze to death. I was hoping to receive input about safe/good areas. Ideally I would like a government that doesn't punish its people for things we cannot control, insult us because of things the government does to us (bullies!) and cannot dictate our personal lives (how many children we must have, access to birth control, being able to work outside the home, etc). I'll keep in mind to avoid Malmo. Do you know of any good areas of Sweden?

Similar situation here. My top choice is Sweden because of its policies and large Socialist groups. It also has a huge tech industry from what I understand.

Yes, I am very impressed with Sweden. I was in utter disbelief that they have paid maternity leave, and have an option for paternity leave!! They don't punish females, nor deny males, families!! I am very, very impressed with Sweden. I'm mostly worried about it being so cold, about its relation with the European Union (agreeing to help out in times of potential war, having the potential to be attacked and potential to not continue to remain neutral as it has been) and about the language barrier. I do not speak Swedish, and even though I know English is widely spoken and they do not require passing a language test for citizenship, I still worry about the obstacles we may face. If/when I were to choose Sweden, I would immediately begin learning Swedish. My husband is not very adept at learning foreign languages, so I would worry about him feeling 'left out.' Emigrating is my idea, and he is willing to come along for my sake. I want him to like where we go just as much or more than me.

have you considered America? it may not be the best and im not sure how hard it would be to get in but i know it is a lot better than many other places :)

Thank you for your suggestion, but I laughed. The USA is not a kind place, especially not to immigrants - not even educated immigrants. Currently in the USA, a large political party seems to be trying to take away current women's rights. Many members of that political party on the state level have effectively passed bills, and repealed previous ones, that protected women's equal status. Wisconsin comes to mind. So does Arizona and Mississippi. Gay marriage is also not federally accepted. Education keeps getting its funding cut. Health insurance is insane. The prices are insanely high! If an employer offers it, one is lucky, but if one looses that job because one gets sick, then one looses that job AND the insurance. Also, insurance may not pay for certain things, and refuse to pay for some things, and yet will always take the money and raise prices. How on earth does that make sense? Give me give me money, oh you need it now? No. The capitalism of the USA and their blatant disregard for human life is heart breaking, plus they discovered they can profit off war by that economic model (research how WWII and the Korean War positively affected the US economy if you don't believe me). If I were to be a legal working immigrant, get laid off, need social services - I can see the torches and pitchforks already, and the mobs screaming for me to go back where I came from and not waste their tax dollars on my non-American scum. Americans do not seem to believe people not from the United States are human, too. Also, the judicial system of the USA is terrifying. So... corrupt... so inefficient... research what happens to rapists. Not the he-said-she-said type cases, but the ones that are painfully clear cut (much older guy, barely of age girl, how severely beaten she was, how much time he was given, how quickly he got out, how many times he re-offended, how many times he was sent back to prison for the very same thing, how after the 3rd+ time of going back to jail for rape he starts murdering the girls, how he eventually got caught, how then he finally gets a somewhat decent sentence... how many victims and destroyed lives later?) Phillip Garrido is one famous example, but I can assure you, there are countless in the USA. I will gladly find you more sources with specific names and cases that have happened on US soil in the last 3 years if you cannot find them on your own - not sure if there is a type of censorship over there. US government seems like it keeps trying to censor the internet, bill after bill after bill. Sure, they get shot down, but the fact that they keep trying...

Don't you need a ton of money to settle in another country?

That would certainly help, a lot, but not necessarily. Since my husband and I would be young, educated, skilled workers, we have a good chance of getting employer sponsorship and gain entry and residence with a work visa.

If you like Austrailia, consider New Zealand as well. All the hobbit movies were filmed there. Don't know much else but it looks to be a cool place.

We did originally consider New Zealand. They have a terrifyingly high number of various natural disasters, and I did not like their judicial system. It seems convicted child molesters would be allowed out of jail on a probation sort of thing, and with the mindset that those people can be "rehabilitated." Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaa no. When I research countries, I check their immigration laws, their crime rates, their political systems, foreign policies, and all that good stuff. New Zealand was in the top tier for a while, but it was ultimately cut. I agree it is beautiful there - maybe we'll vacation there someday.

You know what... I just came up with a good idea... You move to a place near the norwegian border like Stromstad. Then you get a job in Norway (You get alot more paid, and it's cheaper to live in Sweden than Norway) and you'll get rich! :D

You know it's nice and all that but that stuff is mostly for the elite muslim upper class there.
