Apple Bloom has high anxiety over getting her Cutie Mark and it begins to turn her life into a nightmare.

Hopefully this will lead into the CMCs getting their cutie marks this season.

Yeah, but their issues weren't related to their cutie marks.

 

I don't think she'll get her cutie mark in this episode, but I think it could set something up in this season for when she later gets it.

I now read the synopsis of the first four episodes and they all sound like gold to me.

Luna could visit her dreams and Apple Bloom does get her cutie mark, seeing as Scootaloo's and Sweetie Belle's causes of nightmares weren't directly related to their cutie marks. Apple Bloom's actually will be.

It isn't. Luna will not come into her dreams and say how to get a cutie mark. Everypony has to find it themselves and it will stay that way.

Well they've said cutie marks will be a major theme for this season. They've also hinted that something they've been building up to for a long time to will finally happen, and the CMC getting their cutie marks would be one thing that would fit.

We're not, but it would make sense, because it's time now. They tease us since the beginning of the show and it was extremly painful in S4 (flight to the finish anyone?)

 

It would make for one of the greatest feel good moments in the shows history.

I honestly doubt that the CMC will get their marks, or that Luna will appear in this episode. To me it simply sounds like Applebloom will let the anxiety over getting her Cute Mark go too far, turning her life into a metaphorical nightmare, and she will have to learn to cope with that anxiety and not let it take over her life. Moral: Don't be overly anxious over getting/achieving certain things.

The thing is, the context in which the word "nightmare" is used, "begins to turn her life into a nightmare", doesn't really hint at an unpleasant dream, but rather to it affecting her (waking) life. Thus making a Luna dream visit unlikely. "Nightmare" was most likely an unfortunate choice for a metaphor used by the synopsis writer, and is probably not worth overanalysing.

Definitely an Apple Bloom/Luna episode, there's even the word "nightmare" in the synopsis.

For this reason, I don't think she'll get her cutie mark in this episode. I'm sure the end will be like "Don't worry too much about getting your cutie mark."

I want to say "I called it", because I was silently predicting an episode dealing with Apple Bloom's impatience that will likely have a Luna cameo and bring that character arc of hers full-circle, however I don't think I've had the chance to post it anywhere. Fool me once, writers! :okiedokielokie:

 

I think another episode dealing with Apple Bloom's impatience is in order, considering that cutie marks will be a big thing this season. We've seen it in previous episodes, like "Call of the Cutie", "The Cutie Pox", or pretty much any episode where she masterminds some sort of harebrained scheme for all three of them to get their marks at once. However, I think it's time that she got a bigger situation where she realized what trouble this kind of impatience could get her into, or where she learns how it's not all bad when you're a blank flank.

You all smell that? It smells like cutie mark  . I believe the CMCs will finally get their CMs, because:

1- Cutie mark magic, not only the toyline, but it's been confirmed the CMs will play a major role this season

2- The cutie mark crussading was tonned down as the series progressed, so it would make sense if the writers finally wanna get rid of it by giving the fillies their cutie marks

3- Sweetie Belle auditioning for a song in recent trailers. she was always hinted to be good a singing since S1

I'm willing to bet Luna will visit Apple Bloom in her dream and give her advice or something. This sound interesting, though. I don't think any of them will get their cutie marks but Apple Bloom might have a dream where she got hers and her friends got mad at her. Or a dream where Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo got theirs but she didn't.

@@WriteCodes46, One little drawback from your point: Episode synopses in FIM aren't usually cut-and-dry. When they're posted, they often add hints to how the episode will flow. Your point about nightmare being a metaphor makes sense, but it would pace itself too slowly without someone giving advice.

 

Given how SB and SL were visited by Luna prior and the coming-of-age theme this season possesses, it'd make a lot of sense for Luna to open herself up to AB.

It says she has high anxiety over getting her cutie mark. Anxiety usually refers to how people feel about future events. She will not likely have her cutie mark before the anxiety kicks in.

Either way you look at it, Apple Bloom (Applebloom?) is in for a rough episode

 

 

Maybe we'll get a look a Luna's past; did she lose any friends when she gained dominion over the moon? (Assuming she wasn't born fully grown...)
