OK, so it said that ''Maud will return in a hearth's warming episode'' Is the season being divided in half? Because that's Christmas!!! Or is it not a Hearth's warming eve episode? What if by June or July they split it into half and then the remainder in September-December? Like Doctor Who? Was the Hearth's Warming episode a Writing error?

Episode 5 has Rainbow Dash trying to prevent winter so episodes don't necessarily air in order according to the calender.

I doubt it. Just because an episode's timing doesn't correspond with ours, it doesn't mean they won't air it.

I don't really think it will to be honest.

For one the press release regarding season 6 makes me believe that there isn't enough time for season 5 to go on a mid season break and season 6 to come and go and the movie to come out in 2017 without being completely cluttered and disorganized.

But besides that it doesn't have to be christmas time to have a christmas episode as I am pretty sure their are multiple examples of episodes released at a different time then what they should be in universe.

I doubt they'll split it in half. We've got a winter episode coming up in a few weeks. If people are still trying to make "Christmas in July" a thing, then it'll probably air sometime then. But I'm hoping people have given up on "Christmas in July" and it just airs randomly.

I don't think MLP will ever be spilt up like that. They know the kids would not have enough patience and it just is not practical production wise. I saw an anime where they aired a Christmas episode randomly. Besides Maud and the Christmas ep being connected may only be a rumor like how we thought S5 ep 1 was named Cutie Markless. Hearth's Warming Eve is obviously meant to be like our Christmas but it is a made up holiday that the writers can do what they want with.

I don't think that's what's gonna happen, but it'd be interesting. Extra cool if the first half ended in a cliffhanger, though given how apocalyptic some fans' attitudes get during breaks, I don't know if we could handle the suspense.

Since I currently am not sure if I will have enough money to buy more episodes after episode 14 with the iTunes balance I have now, I wouldn't mind a break of like two or three months. but I would strongly prefer that the whole season is completed before 2016. That way it can be easy for my mind to comprehend. Season 5 was in the 2015. And hopefully Season 6 will be done before 2017 happens. There is some suggestion that S6 will start before 2015 is even completely over... but that would be bizarrely quick. Littlest Pet Shop Season 3 started barely a month and a half after its Season 2 finale, but that Season 3 was broken in half with a three-and-a-half-long hiatus.

 

I just hope that Hearth's Warming Eve doesn't turn out to be a commercialized holiday in Equestria. It's really more like a winter 4th of July/ Independence Day than Christmas or any holy-day really. MLP is already a commercialized thing enough as it is. There were hardly any Christmas-y motifs in the "Hearth's Warming Eve" episode anyway.
