You guys know Jeric. Friendly and helpful moderator, Rarity fanatic, and all-around nice guy. He's been a moderator pushing... eight months now, I want to say. I'll admit I'm a little fuzzy on the timeframe, but time flies around here for me. 

 

 

Always willing to do more than is required of him, always having an encouraging word, working with him has been nothing less than a pleasure. In all his time with us, prior to joining the staff and even to this day, he's retained his vigor and personal bond with the community, becoming somebody we've come to trust and appreciate. While I could go on all night like this and probably conjure up a few more Star Trek puns to go with the thread's title, I'll cut to the chase. Please welcome @Jeric as a new administrator. We've been in dire need of extra help for a while now, and I'm confident he'll bolster morale and efficiency. My only concern with him is that there may not be enough coffee to go around for the both of us

I haven't been on the forums long and I never had any real interaction with Jeric, but from what I've seen, he's a nice guy who gets along great with a lot of people, yet he's also able to separate his personal relationships from his moderation duties. It takes a special kind of person to be able to do that and I respect the hell out of that. Kudos to you, my friend. :grin2:

In all seriousness though, this is an extremely well deserved promotion.  Though we may forever disagree on whether or not Star Trek is better than Star Wars (so he doesn't have the best judgment, we all have flaws), he's become one of my closest friends.  I don't mean one of my closest staff friends or forum friends... I mean it when I say he's become one of my closest friends.

 

I don't know how much people that aren't on staff really realize all that Jeric does for this site.  He's the first to volunteer to help out, the first to take on an extra project, and first to try and find ways for us to grow.   He goes so far beyond what is expected of him its not even funny.  And no matter how many extra projects he takes on, he never neglects his core duties as moderator either.  This guy is just one hell of a moderator, and he'll make a hell of an admin.

 

Jeric... congratulations on the well deserved promotion.  (And remember that I'm still your boss as PR head )
