Okay... Hey guys I hope y'all enjoyed this episode! I'm curious though, because so far all the responses I've seen are saying "ITS GREAT OMGGGG" whereas I was kinda dissapointed... I mean it was a good episode! But after all that build up, the wait, and the hype? Did it live up to much? I don't really think so. If there was no wait and even though it was a milestone in the show they played it off like a regular episode I would have liked it more... But I guess it kinda felt a little let down... Anyone agree? (I'm not dissing the episode though because I mean come on, Lyra had quite a bit to say <3)

Fanfics, fan animations, and fan content in general. :P  I also don't watch Doctor Who, I've never seen the Big Lebowski, and I don't ship background characters. So this epsiode really didn't have nay thing in it for me, except Derpy.  :derp:

Only fan animation I've seen is that snowdrop one. It made me cry. ;-; But I'm a big doctor Who fan, never heard of Big Lebowski, I've barely noticed half of the background chars, Cloudy Skies being really the first one to stick out to me so I don't ship them. It's kinda why I went into this expecting not to like it at all.

Dr. Whooves's science lab felt out of place in the world of magic where the most advanced thing we've seen was a steam-powered apple-picker.

Twilight's science lab from episode 15 of season 1 would like a word with you.

Especially because she explicitly said that she'd try and get "scientific information" out of Pinkie's pinkie sense.

A Changeling (who have only appeared once, as evil creatures who eat love,) having been invited to a wedding felt VERY odd. Like, seriously odd. Last time we saw changelings, Twilight was blasting them to bits. I bit of explanation would have been nice. ^^'

This is how I interpreted the Changeling's presence:

Changelings aren't some volatile force of evil, they can be civilized creatures and they're actually free to visit wherever they like just like Griffons.

It's not like they have to stay cooped in their own kingdom.

I feel like the show is telling us that the Chrysalis thing was a one-off scenario with a power mad bitch in control of some pawns.

For all we know, the majority of the changelings are mild mannered and capable of self restraint, which is why this one could be invited.

It gives great potential for both the changeling race and their role in the show. Maybe this even foreshadows some bonding with them for a map episode?

Just in case you didn't notice, go back and check the Dude's cutie-mark and prepare to explode twice.

Muffins? Really? :/

Not only her voice, but her name was changed too.

Meh, Derpy 4ever.

I actually like her new voice. The voice was never the problem. It was the fact that they went back and removed any mention of her name and "fixed" her eyes. Stupid soccer moms and SJWs. They're the real ableists in denial.

I liked the episode overall, but what they did to Derpy (even going as far as to call her "muffins" in the voice credits) was tantamount to a crime against humanity.

Not quite accurate. Here

Button and Vinyl kinda become a thing because of late 20th Century technology. ;)

Bonbon being a secret agent hiding her identity per Celestia's orders felt out of place, and didn't quite make sense, seeing as Celestia could have easily offed that monster.

Tia is 0-5 for defeating baddies.  True some required the Elements, but unless it is a love spell she hasn't really been shown as a modern day monster slayer. Bon Bon was a clever nod at both silly fan fics and how we name characters differently than the show.

We know next to nothing about that race. It contradicts nothing. A lone Changeling signifies nothing and from what I can tell the general fandom conclusion is shaping around him or her being connected to Cranky's adventures. Of course I imagine people complexly as individuals and not based on race so maybe I am bringing a bit of myself into that interpretation.

very good fan-animation

Cannon episode is cannon. I get you are in the minority and didn't like it and that is perfectly fine, but real professionals worked on this. This is their life and how they put food on the table. Let's not marginalize them please.

Yes, "for all we know", they could be...the problem is, we don't know. We've only seen them in one other occasion, and it entirely contradicts this. That's what bothers me. It feels like they're cheating canon. ^^ That's just me, though.

For those that don't know, a bugbear is a mythological creature, yes, but it is also used as a term to mean "a cause of obsessive fear, irritation, or loathing", and is a synonym of "pet peeve".  Seems to me to be advanced thinking that M.A. Larson knew some people would have a "bugbear" with this episode instead of just relaxing and having fun watching it.  As far as I'm concerned, I think it's brilliant that he subtly included that.

(Even though I'm tempted now to reply to such nitpicks with a bugbear image, I'll leave that to someone else.)

Congratulations to Cranky and Matilda! Its great to see that they are finally reunited and can celebrate their love both with each other and to the rest of Ponyville and Equestria.

I think I will let Cranky and Matilda speak on my behalf for now.

It was a close shave if you catch my drift, but everything turned out fabulous! Just ask Steven Magnet.

Again, just my opinion. ^^' I'm not saying it ISN'T canon, I'm saying I just don't consider it canon. I don't think I'm really marginalizing it.

Also, just because it was made professionally/unprofessionally, doesn't mean its objectively good/bad.

Sorry if i come around like a bad guy, but why is it so important, that Derpys name is Muffins in the credits? It's a name, which probably most people will ignore and will just go back to name her derpy again. It's really not a huge deal people, be thankful that she in the episode at all.

Not at all, first of all because I doubt the events of this episode will play a major role in things to come, second of all no a professionally made product can still be a bad product, but credit where credit is due these weren't amateurs slapping something together with no purpose.

At the end of the day, I think the episode may go down not as one of the audience's most favorite, but maybe as one of the most memorable.

That poll at the top begs to differ.

How do you not consider something canon? There is absolutely no reason it can't be (and no, not liking it isn't an excuse).

I don't disagree, but I would politely ask you consider your phrasing. Not that you meant it so, but that might come across as a tad harsh. We can civilly disagree of the episode's quality and other aspects.

Painful and cringy fanservice episode... no likey.

Though the only good part was the part where Steven Magnet cut off half of his mustache for Cranky. Really goes to show that a single good act can stay with someone forever.

I couldn't care less about whether someone likes the episode, that's their decision, a decision they have every right to make. But, no one has the right to say "I didn't like this episode, so I don't consider it canonical" or the other way around. Edited by Shenron00

Again, I agree, I just think that your objection could have been worded a bit more tactfully. There's no need to get angry about this issue, it was just an episode. A kickass one that I will cherish forever but an episode nonetheless.

Angry? No, I'm just a little annoyed. You see, I believe that the truth should always be known, no matter how "harsh" it may sound.

I loved it :D. It was so great and so many headcanons have been addressed. Of course there are the facts that this was a lot of fanservice, but who cares :D. This was awesome episode and probably only a one time thing, so this won't be damaging the episodes :)
