spoiler How do non-unicorns put on wedding rings?

We've seen it in A Canterlot Wedding Part II. During the wedding, unicorns put on wedding rings on their horns. But how do all the other species with hooves do? Having a hoof sized giant gold ring would be really akward and bulky considering gold's weight, so what are your theories for this?

Non unicorn rings may be bigger to be put around the hoof

Well such a big gold ring would weigh at least a few kilograms

they prolly wear them bangle/bracelet style

and i seriously doubt it weighing a kilo or more

if you ever wore a bangle or bracelet yourself they're not heavy and most of the time you even wont notice your wearing them

Gold's density is 19.3g/cm3, which is pretty heavy. Considering ponies are about half as tall as humans, a hoof ring would easily make for at least...

150 cm3 of gold giving us 2895 or approximately 3000g which is 3 kilograms. That is if the ring if 5cm high, 1cm thick and the circumference for it is of approximately 30 cm. So yeah, a few kilograms. Pretty heavy for a horse that size.

Idk, wedding horseshoes?

Why didn't I think of this before? So brilliant!

The Najmat Taiba

worlds largest gold ring weighs 64 kilograms if we used your computation this would weigh alot more

most jewelry is measured by karat  One carat is equal to 1/5 of a gram (200 milligrams)

also gold jewelry is diluted with other metals to make it sturdier and *lighter*

if its pure gold you're prolly right but were talking about jewelry here

so its safe to say anypony can wear gold jewelry no prob

.

@@MCAsomm,

I want to say something but I would probably banned so I am going with the sfw alternative

The rings go on their tails therefore AJ is actually a widow

Nice idea, the tail is common to all races/kind of ponies; but also compatible with other sentient species like griffons.

I'd say the smarter way would be to just put the rings in a chain around their necks. P adorable.

Wrong, the ring on AJ's tail means she is a kicker which is, yeah you get the point, kicks things.

They should be creative with rings that for Unicorn rings go on the horn and Earth and Pegasus somewhere in the hoof.

Close, but not quite @HCpony.

That's not a ring @MoltenKitten, it's actually a ribbon. In real life, horses and ponies have ribbons on their tails to designate what they do and sometimes a warning.

Red ribbons signify that a horse is a kicker. This means that any other riders should be careful not to crowd the horse, especially from behind.

This makes sense considering Applejack's job.

Well, even the less "pure" gold is still made of 75% of gold, so the minimum density would be 16.5g/cm3 for that 18 karat gold, which would still give us 2475 grams. Still heavy enough. And you have to remember, if we take that the animals in MLP are of similar size to the ones we have here, those ponies are still pretty small, and after the breezies, the ponies are one of the smallest living species in Equestria.

As several others have mentioned, possibly a neck chain or bracelets.

But, as no one seems to realize, this is simply another example of Human Influence On Equestria!  Rings are a human custom, totally unsuited for ponies.  Their use in such an important rite is proof Humans Once Walked Among Us!  The government knows but is covering up! ;)
