The issue with Shining Armor is that his existence felt entirely forced and contrived for the simple fact that we're apparently supposed to believe that in all of the time Twilight had known her friends in the first 50 episodes of the show, not once had she ever brought him up or mentioned him. 

 

And given how close she and her brother were established to be, that doesn't make a lick of sense. 

 

This is not going to work for Fluttershy's brother. So the only way they could do this properly is to have the mane six already aware that Fluttershy has a brother (though that would honestly seem like a cop out), or make it so Fluttershy isn't close to him at all. 

Nah, it would totally work for Fluttershy. When she first got to know her friends, she was too shy to talk much, and never mentioned anything about her family. By the time she got more comfortable around them, it had been so long that it would be awkward to just all of a sudden reveal that she has a brother. Cue feedback loop where the longer it's been, the more awkward it would be, and thus the years pass and it just never comes up... until now

 

She could definitely be keeping in touch with her brother behind her friends' backs.

The question of "What would happen if the first sonic rainboom didn't happen?" is one that's been in my mind for a long time, and I hope they go with something really interesting for that. Also, I hope that episode is written by M.A. Larson (seeing as he is responsible for the greatness of The Cutie Mark Chronicles AND Sonic Rainboom).

 

I was also hoping to see more relatives of the mane 6. Fluttershy having a brother sounds great!

 

A pie episode with Maud Pie sounds great as well! 

 

And yes, please have Starlight Glimmer return (and another returning villain? Oooh, sweet).

 

And that Lena Hall song......my gosh. Best song in the entire show, hands down.

Fluttershy has a brother and we'll see him soon (Personally really excited by this one!) 

This sounds really interesting. As of yet, Fluttershy is the only Mane pony whose family remains a complete mystery. I'm sure her brother will be interesting.

Maud Pie and the rest of the Pies are getting an episode as well as the Apples

Does this mean more Pies and Apples together? I loved Pinkie Apple Pie! Either way, more Maud couldn't hurt too bad.

A song with Frozen vibes is on it's way

I'm cool with Frozen vibes, but please don't do anything too Let it Go esque. Had enough of that song to last a lifetime.

What the Mane 6 would be like without the Sonic Rainboom will be explored

That's the finale, for sure. Season 5 has been doing all it can to explore the past, and this will be another exciting addition.
