For anime do mechs count? Because I'm in love with Gurren Lagann

As for games... it's probably NMH's Beam Katana. It's like a lightsaber, but cooler

I don't watch much anime, but I've got plenty of game weapons that I like.

Top five weapons from favorite to least favorite:

1. Faith made into a physical weapon (This is very rare to see. You could conjure lighting spears and other things in Dark Souls. I also remember in Dungeon Fighter Online, the priest could create hammers and spears of light.)

2. Giant Cross (Extremely rare to see. I've only seen it also in Dungeon Fighter Online. You can probably guess who uses it as a hammer to bash enemies with and cast spells.)

3. Tower shield only (Yup. I like swords, but I don't love them. I think a knight that could take advantage of a gigantic shield without using any other weapon would be cool.)

4. Unarmed or fist weapon (I don't know when, but unarmed combat became one of my favorite options in video games.)

5. Sword and shield (The classic sword and board combo. In most RPGs I'm stuck with this option. I don't mind, though.)

I don't really watch anime (I actually haven't watched anime since I was like 8 or 9).

As for video games...

1. Equalizer Revolvers- Borderlands (AMMO REGEN!)

2. Maliwan Volcano Sniper Rifle- Borderlands (Combines my love of Sniper Rifles with my love of fire. Can incinerate 2 at once!)

3. Nessie's Nine Iron- Team Fortress 2 (GOLF CLUB SWORD IS REAL?)

4. Jayce's Mercury Hammer/Cannon- League of Legends (It's a lot of awesomeness in one package. It's the future!)

5. Shahanshah- Team Fortress 2 (Got blood all over my knife, mate!)

6. Hunter's Striker Shotguns- Borderlands (Who knew a shotgun could crit like a Sniper Rifle? Hmph.)

7. Crowbar- Half-Life Series (IT'S A CROWBAR... WHY NOT?)

8. Essence Reaver- League of Legends (Technically a weapon. It looks like their version of Thanatos's Scythe...)

I have yet to find a cooler sword than this.

It's from Guild Wars 2 and is called Twilight:

The sword itself is a red and black portal to space with stars and all.

Now this can also be crafted as Sunrise:

Same as Twilight, just with a blue and orange portal to the skies and sunrise.

I haven't watched too much anime to make a proper list, but the Elucidator and the Wind Fleuret from SAO are some favourites.

Games wise: (Excluding generic/Real-life firearms (I play a lot of FPS) because no body wants to see them in this list.)

Dread (Bow and arrow) from Warframe

Sonicor from Warframe. Ragdolls everywhere <3

Attack helicopter from BF4 (I know it's not technically a weapon D:)

Vulcan fury, Needle lazer and Super Nova from Jak 3

Machine guns and missiles from Jak X

The Saints Row series has a lot dumb, yet very effective weapons. Too many to name, so I'll just say...

The Sharkonator.

It was a DLC weapon for Saints Row The Third. It was a shotgun that only held 1 round at a time. When fired, it would shoot chum at your target, and is capable of splashing onto nearby enemies. After a few seconds, a FRICKIN SHARK would rise out of the ground and eat them.

10/10 would buy a real one.

There was also a certain melee weapon that I'm not gonna mention...

Well I don't have exactly a list of preferred anime weapons. I do have a few video game weapons that I either loved using or wished that the player could use but were unique to boss characters. (For my list, weapons unique to video games so batarangs or a lightsaber don't count for me.) I'm also assuming this means man-portable weapons. Something like an arwing may be a "weapon" or have such mounted on it but you don't really carry it around with you.

-Krystal's staff (Star Fox Adventures)

-Nano-ceramic blades (Deus Ex: Human Revolution)

-Ashbringer (World of Warcraft)

-Soul Calibur

-The Keyblade

-The Hidden Blade (Assassin's Creed)

-Plasma Sword and Gravity Hammer (Halo) God I wish the games were made with the Covenant as the heroes.

-Double ended chainsaw staff (Gears of War: yeah you heard that right! Yet another villainous faction I'd prefer to play as. And no that similar weapon from Dead Rising doesn't count, Chuck looks like he can barely swing that thing.)

-The Shish-kebab (Fallout 3)

-The HF blade (Metal Gear)

-Kung Lao's hat

Well these are my favorite weapons in and from the games although I'm not much of a person who watches anime a lot though and I can give out my Reasons why

Game Weapons:

Relic Sword, Excalibur (Final Fantasy XI) - Well I like the layout of the sword and the weapon skill, Knights of round is cool

Empyrean Staff, Hvergelmir (Final Fantasy XI) - The most useful staff That I have had for my summoner job and works well for my solo play. The Weapon skill, myrkr helps me replenish MP back whenever I'm low on MP

Empyrean Great Katana, Masamune (Final Fantasy XI) - The weapon layout is good and it reminds me a lot like a crystal staff. Loved the weapon skill, Tachi: Fudo.

Mythic Staff, Nirvana (Final Fantasy XI) - The stats on the weapon are good, but the results are even better when upgraded. Loved the weapon skill, Garland of Bliss, and love the layout of the weapon

Ultima Weapon (Final Fantasy Series) - even though I like it as a weapon, but the damage gets better based on HP in certain final fantasy games

Meowmere (Terraria) - Well The ultimate sword I ever used in the game, but why not?

Razorblade Typhoon (Terraria) - The best homing magic weapon I ever used, but it's my most used weapon

Last Prism (Terraria) - Better than Razorpine. Has good mobbing and DPS.

Lunar Flare (Terraria) - The most powerful anti-air magic weapon I ever used. It's better than having blizzard staff.

Lancer (Gears of War) - This is my prefered weapon which I always use.

Fan (Super Smash Bros) - Ok i know every or some SSB players thinks that this weapon can be annoying to use, but it's the only way to break shields and preventing your opponents to attack

Summoning Gate (Hyrule Warriors) - I'd say this is a good weapon for lana although with argorok, it's easy to mow down the enemies

In anime:

Probably Yukine in Noragami. It's sorta like Soul Eater, where the weapon is actually a person with an individual personality to them

In games:

The foam finger in Dead Space 2 (or the original, I forget). Basically, you go around with a foam finger yelling "Bang Bang" and destroy everything in sight
