spoiler Most sinister villain part 2

Silver Stream.

Recommended Posts

Not sure of any of you remember, but I once brought up a discussion about who was the most sinister villain while my display name was still Princess Sunset. The top villains were Tirek and Sombra with Starlight Glimmer and Chrysalis as runner ups.

I brought up a great argument as to how Starlight Glimmer could be the most sinister of them all. Many agreed while others wanted to wait for the finale. And since I watched the finale, I'm going with a tie between Starlight and Sombra.

I won't go into detail why I still rank Starlight so high. But first....now that we've seen each major villain in universes in which they've succeeded.....who do you think is the most sinister villain now?

WAY too soon to bring this topic up IMO. Honestly I go with Chyrsalis overall.  (Discord is best villain though  ;) )

I figured it was the right time. I brought the topic up before, but now that we all saw universes in which each major was apparently the final victors, I could bring it up again where people who made their choices the last time could finalize it.

Also, I'll explain why I chose Starlight and Sombra later after I get some sleep xD

As much as I wish I could say Sunset, I actually have to cast my vote for Tirek.

The reason why is because he managed to escape from Tartarus on his own, managed to manipulate Discord, outmaneuver Celestia, stole everyone's magic with intent to enslave all of Equestria or be content to let them perish through drought and starvation and frequently expressed his contempt for Equines as well as trying murder Twilight when he burned down the library.

Not only did he have centuries to plan, but he was shown to be intelligent enough to adapt and play off other's emotions extremely quickly (in the cases of Discord and Twilight wanting to save her friends), he also disposed of Discord the second he believed he was no longer of any use to him.

And as soon as he did gain all of the power he had been searching for, he immediately began destroying everything.

if we are using the term "sinister" then I would have to maybe put it up as a toss-up between King Sombra or Tirek.   Why? Because of their goals, which is actually also heavily cliche, and that's just warmongering conquerors.  They're kind of in a league of their own when it comes to fighting and how they act and on the scale they inflicted their damage. Although Nightmare Moon might be able to compete for the crown too.  Its just hard for me to gauge her in scale.

Note, I'm measuring this by us using the word sinister.

I'm not counting Chrysalis on the same level as the others because it depends on how you interpret her actions and intent.

For me, it would have to be Starlight and Tirek. For Starlight, the way she planned out her revenge during the finale was very well thought out. It was also interesting how Starlight was able to match Twilight's magic strength in battle.

For Tirek, it was crazy how he used Discord to become stronger and then betray Discord when Tirek didn't need him anymore. It was also something to see when he was able to steal all the magic from everypony in Equestria. It was also interesting how he was able to steal Twilight's magic by holding her friends captive so she would have no choice but to forfeit all the magic she had to Tirek.

Hm. Not sure about most sinister, but Nightmare Moon absolutely had the best presence.

I agree, Nightmare moon is one of the more sinister character, praying on the innocence of Luna. but I would say that Peter Thorndyke is one of the most sinister. Always trying to destroy Herbie the (well my personal) symbol of happiness and peace in the world. I love these pics of Herbie not allowing hatred and evil to push him around anymore!

Starlight Glimmer hands down.

Just out of pure spite and petty revenge she was willing to royally screw over the fabric of time and space in order to ruin the lives of Twilight and the rest of the mane 6.

I might go well with either Chrysalis, Sombra or maybe Starlight....Who knows!

Wait, she did? I don't get it...Starlight was going to royally screw the fabric of time and space so she can betray the Mane Six...but who knows!

Tirek.

His lust for destruction is already enough, but he was willing to use everyone he could to get his way no matter what the cost. Discord trusted him, and Tirek even betrayed him to become more powerful. Then there's the fact he took the magic out of everyone he could, and even the princesses feared him.

Personally, I don't find  Starlight Glimmer to be evil. In the premiere, it was actually Twilight and the rest of the mane 6 that made her 'evil'. She was perfectly content in her small town, and everyone was happy. Heck, they even said that anyone is free to leave if they wanted to, but they just did not want to upset her by doing so (showing that the residents there did actually care for her, and that she treats them well and wants them to be happy). Even after it was revealed she still had her original cutie mark, they all still seemed to care for her and just wanted everything to be as she said it was. She does seem to be quite the emotional character though, who let's their feelings stand in the way of logic. Starlight evidently hates being hurt, and even went as far as to try and protect others so they don't have to feel the pain that she did. Being hurt a second time by having her town turned against her must of really built up a grudge for the mane 6, it's almost no surprise that she wanted to stop the mane 6 from ever meeting. There's also the fact that she did not realise what she was doing, especially being blinded by emotional rage. How was she to know of the butterfly effect? How was she to know how important the mane 6's friendship was? Even right at the end, after seeing what she had caused, she still had the chance to ruin everything for Twilight. But she didn't, because she did not want to ruin or destroy everything. Starlight just wants everyone to be happy.

Starlight, simply because she was so freakily realistic in her approach to brainwashing. Aside from her magic to seal cutie marks she didn't use magic to keep the other ponies under control and that makes her scarier than Discord's mind rape. Aside from this she does have incredible magical power (still waiting for an explanation of that...) so even if she gets into a fight she can hold her own.

Too bad her backstory was so crappy.
