spoiler Which Alternate Future would you consider the most dangerous?

As seen in the Season 5 finale, we are shown that many of these Alternate Futures either had the potential to endanger all of Equestria. We feel unsafe in each one of them and could never find any hope to return to go back to a place where everything was happy. With that being said, which one of the first six AUs would cause the most harm to both the ponies and Equestria?

Apart from the obvious two being the wasteland because EVERYTHING is GONE and Tirek's because he is unstoppable at full power, I would have to say Chrysalis's. In Sombra's one, Celestia was putting up a good fight and she had a large army at her disposal. Nightmare Moon's reality didn't seem too dangerous because while Nightmare Moon was the ruler, the world didn't seem at war or on the verge of crisis. Discord's one didn't seem dangerous either, because he would rather make everybody into his own personal circus act than put them in danger. In Chrysalis's reality, she had managed to gain full control of Equestria and Zecora's twenty or so ponies seemed to be the last of the resistance against her changelings. We could see in A Canterlot Wedding how much damage she inflicted upon Canterlot, with her changelings being very violent and unforgiving, so we can only assume the impact she'd have on all of Equestria.

Obviously the barren wasteland, since everything there is dead (and Tirek's, which is on its way there). But apart from that, it would be Nightmare Moon's, because no one is putting a resistance against her, but she needs to die, or else her eternal night will eventually cause the death of all living things in Equestria. After that it would be Chrysalis', since ponies (and zebras) would be eradicated, then Sombra's, which leads to a war, then Discord's, which is a hilarious mess, and finally the Flim Flam Brothers', which ends up in global warming and property encroachment (about the same as our world).

Probably Luna's as nothing would grow hence there would be mass amounts of famine which would lead to certain death for all things currently living.

Besides the Wasteland, going to have to go with the Chrysalis future.

 

We didn't see enough of Tirek to know how that future turned out, Discordverse would essentially be turned into Wonderland in that it makes no sense, and while the Sombraverse has a full scale war going, there's still the potential for victory in that timeline. And while Nightmare Moon ruling over Equestria under an eternal blanket of night would be bad, there's nothing to say she wouldn't be some kind of benevolent ruling as opposed to a murderous tyrant. 

 

From what we saw with the changelings, ponies have had their entire way of life cast back into the dark ages and been essentially forced into hiding, always looking over their shoulder for fear that there could be a changeling right behind them who would no doubt enslave them to be used as food sources, similar to the machines using humans as power sources in The Matrix.

I severely doubt the futures truly went in order from least to most dangerous (excluding the final one, obviously); I think Twilight was just making a figure of speech to demonstrate that s*** was hitting the fan over and over again.

 

That being said, Tirek's because he most likely went Super Buu on all of Equestria.

 

Sombra's, Chrysalis's, and NMM's were equally apocalyptic, IMO.

 

Discord's seemed like he'd possibly developed some Even Evil Has Standards despite not being reformed.

 

And Flim and Flam's was just a bizarre Big Lipped Alligator Moment, so I dunno.

The war against Sombra.

 

Allow me a moment to explain.

 

War is a horrible, ugly thing. It can leave scars worse then death, even in victory.

 

That being said, I am all about this possible future. Not for its outcome, but for how it was presented. The writers of this show continue showing me just how much of a grasp they have on BOTH fantasy AND reality. The reality is how war was shown on the CIVILIAN side in this future is DEAD on accurate. I was losing my celestia damned mind in those 8 minutes of the episode.

 

It was PERFECT. That is exactly what happens in REAL war. As an American who is only 30 years old I can tell you I have not lived long enough to see REAL war on the civilian side. The past few decades of "police" actions do not properly show the effects of REAL war. I would like to add I am a student of military history, I would like to say I know what I am talking about.

 

This future is the most horrifying thing I can possible imagine happening to Equestria. Giant overlords blowing stuff up, is childs play next to knowing your sibling, mother, father, everyone you love can be laying on the battlefield, slaughtered by your own kind. All because one dictator said "kill them all". Forcing the old and sick, to the young and nieve to put on armor and go fight for him (coughhitercough).

 

This entire finale was amazing, the call backs to villians, the voice acting, the animation. The coming of a clearly what is to be a reoccurring character. All of it (we even get to see best Princesses Celestia DO something!!!). 

 

But it was the writing of this possible future that just blew my damn mind, ive been an mlp fan since 89. This just reinforces that love, a hundred full.

 

So I say, thank you! Bring on S6, gimmie eqg4! I am ready Hasbro!

Tirek, there out of all the villains he has been shown to be the most powerful he even drained Discord's magic. The other villains wouldn't be easy to beat but the ponies would at least have a chance against them (except for Discord but then again he would just troll the ponies for all eternity).

Normally it would be but since Nightmare Moon said that Celestia had been banished to the moon "for a long" time it heavily implied that in this alternate timeline Nightmare Moon won their duel 1000 years ago meaning that Nightmare Moon had some kind of magic to somehow change the plant and animal life to where they can evolve in a more nocturnal environment.

All of them sucked except Discord's (it can be pretty fun. You just have to be batcrap insane to enjoy it).

 

Though I was taken aback by the Flim-Flam one. Et tu, Flim & Flam?

 

You know you've failed in life when you're lumped together with the other villains...

 

I kinda wish it had been a 3-parter or better paced to give the other villain futures a shot. (Tough their VAs was an issue)

I guess it would be the wasteland future, which if you think about indirectly canonized Fallout Equestria. Though the nighmare moon reality could be bad. But as well as the Sombra and Changeling universes. However since it was proven that they've fully beaten Nightmare Moon and the Changeling in the past, I have no doubt that they could've done it again. Sombra's one could be challenging seeing as how he has an army this time. But through determination and losses I believe that he could be defeated. As well as the others (Film and Flam, Discord etc.). So i'm gonna have to go with FoE aka the wastelands.

Do you not recall Twilight saying the timelines got progressively worse as they went?

Obvi, those charismatic stallions are pretty intense, guys.

For reals though, I'd say Sombra. I dunno, he seems more evil than Chrysalis to me, at least more menacing. And honestly Nightmare Moon isn't quite as ruthless as Chrysalis and Sombra, she's just an arrogant bitch who would force everyone to be night owls whether they wanted to or not. Sure there's the plant life argument, but there was plenty of foliage around, so methinks magic trumps photosynthesis.

 

I don't really see Tirek's as more dangerous because...he has no clear goal. He's a brute without a plan. He wants to 'rule Equestria', but all we saw of his future timeline was him continuing to blow away some trees, continuing the 'absorb, destroy, absorb, destroy' pattern he did all throughout the S4 Finale. All Tirek seems to want to do is destroy everything, which to an analytical person like me isn't as 'dangerous' as someone who enslaves, infects, manipulates and does other extremely heinous things. There are fates worse than death, as they say.

 

Sombra has power, a clear plan of attack, is literally infecting the land with his black crystal magic, is enslaving ponies in chains while he does it, uses those ponies to then fight his war, and is clearly being very effective thus far in fighting that war. Much more menacing than a muscle-blown centaur on a rampage to destroy everything.

 

I like Tirek, but hey, trying to make a point, ya'know.

The division seems to be between Chrysalis's & Sombra's worlds. 

 

Sombra is being met with resistance and that universe still has a Celestia to fight with, but war is hell and no matter who wins, Equestria will be far worse off. 

On the other end, Celestia was defeated in the Chrysalis verse, but would her reign be worse than a Sombra victory? She and the changelings just feed off the ponies. As bad as that sounds, it isn't nearly as bad as being enslaved or used as cannon fodder.
