They know how incredibly popular these are so they're just capitalizing on this and make money off other people's original content

Lmfao.

I've never seen a YouTube channel go that fast from well-respected to hated.

One video is all it took.

The Fine Brothers have really done fucked themselves this time. They think that they can just own the rights to every single react video on YouTube, but they can't.

LOLWUT

I just lost all of my respect for these douchebags. I never really liked the from the start, but god damn! They seriously think they created the format of watching a popular video with the video playing in a minimized box on the corner of the screen? I doubt they'll get away with this.

It's just Youtuber's overstepping their boundaries. Remember, all we are are just a bunch of dweebs in a basement with a camera. Nothing more. These guys have absolutely no right to be doing this, and I'll be sitting back with a bag of popcorn watching their channel burn to the ground.

I have to say I'm feeling pretty schadenfreude about this.

Pretty sure if Sony couldn't copyright the term 'Let's Play', then these idiots will never be able to copyright the word 'React'. Just Youtuber arrogance at its finest. Never liked these guys and now I am confident that my dislike was completely justified.

The Whole attempt to Trademark the Word won't happen :P They've taken a few videos down already but the likelihood of the Trademark being accepted is pretty low. Right now the internet has 30 days to file a counterclaim, which a large group of youtubers/streamers are doing.

Its a dumb thing to do on theFineBros behalf.

But that being said, the Finebros are Trademarking the Genre, They Are Strictly Trade Marking the Word.

"There is an entire genre of Reaction videos online and an unlimited number of ways to make this type of content. We do not hold a copyright on reaction videos overall. No one can. " (http://www.finebrosent.com/reactworldfaq/)

What there doing is Trademarking specfic FineBros Brands such as:

Kids React, Teens React, Adults React, Elders React, People vs. Food, People vs. Technology, Try Not To Smile or Laugh, Lyric Breakdown, and Do They Know It.

Let's hope 'bronies react' doesn't get taken down.

Also, they took down an 8 view video. Yay.

I love watching clusterfucks like this unfold

I love the enthusiastic facade they put on while announcing their intent to gouge and tax others based on a generic video format, i'd never even heard of these guys before this but damn, what a bunch of fucking pricks.

Yeah, it seems like this is more of a branding opportunity than fighting to copyright(ha) or trademark the word react (ha). It's like "why have your own burger restaurant when you can own a McDonald's franchise." You get exposure, etc.  Ie you can make a "kids react" in their style with their logos with a licence fee

Bronies react is safe, don't worry.

^ This exactly. I've been warning tons of youtubers about this very thing. They are trying to Damage control right now but there is at least one Lawyer offering to work Pro Bono to help shut this down so when the legal people are seeing the shady sh*t then you know its serious

I never cared for reaction videos, or the Fine Bros, but this is quite an arrogant move to attempt and pull off. Boogie made an interesting response video, though I liked Cr1tikal's more, that one was just hilarious. :P
