The Cutie Mark Crusaders have sadly become stale as the seasons go on, especially Sweetie Belle. I miss the loveable airhead she was in the first three seasons. Hopefully they'll be given more depth in season six with their new mission to help ponies understand their cutie marks.

Also, there is a stunning lack of male characters. Well, male characters that aren't completely bland. 

 

Then, Spike, one of the only non-bland male characters, they have been treating him like garbage in any episodes where he is a main focus. That needs to end.

You have to at least admit that the animation is better than it was in previous generation.

There may be a few that disagree with me here.. But god, the theme song does put me off a lot of the time, I cant stand it.

 

Also, the reformations of some of the characters as has been mentioned before, Gilda being the stand out example for me

The same lesson being used too many times in an episode gets in my nerves. Like, stating it once it good, but so many times in an episode is overkill.

I want to see more locations, and non pony civilizations, for Star Wars, the Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings gave us variety, it's a shame that the writers have not involved more places we have seen already, like the Crystal Empire, I don't even know the name of it's capital city, it would be nice to see other characters like deer, canines or felines.

 

Totally agreed, even made an entire topic on that point. Also the IDW comics have branched the world building where the show hasn't, including Cats and deer. That being said I would love for them to be integrated into the show as well.

Just kidding. But reall, one problem in my opinion are mostly how the finales and 2 parts epiaodes differ so much from the regular formula of the show. The rest of the epsiodes are more fun and cartoony, whilst the 2 part episodes feel more serious. It's not really a big problem, but it's just such a big contrast.

Well, my biggest gripe would be a lack of good male characters. The female characters are great, but the male characters they have either are not developed, or are not very good characters. The only male characters they have really developed are Big Mac, Spike, and Shining Armour, but it's taken them 5 seasons to do that.

 

I also want to see some more Daring Do character development. I keep saying this, but an episode about Daring Do and Zecora would be awesome.
