general Millenials don't eat cereal?

Milk is really bad to drink in the morning because it's high on tryptophan. Tryptophan is an amino acid is found in high amounts in milk and turkey which induces drowsiness. It's good to drink to help you go to sleep at night or at dinner but not something you should be drinking in the morning when you should be trying to wake up and stay awake. No wonder there is so much conflict with people drinking their Starbucks coffee loaded with milk, the caffeine and tryptophan are battling it out in their bodies.

And damn how did the furry community portray Tony the Tiger that made people hate Frosted Flakes?

I like cereal from time to time, but it's not as filling as a hearty breakfast of eggs and toast or hell, even oatmeal. And when you're going to work and WORKING HARD, you need something a little more filling than bloody cornflakes to keep you going until lunch.

You have no idea how hard I laughed at this.

im a furry and I actually know a few of the furs that came up on teh articles with the tweets.

It was so freaking funny though XP

anyway, I like kids cereal most, like coco pops and nesquik, but ive had to ease up on how much milk i have in the mornings, no matter what type of milk it is, it makes me feel a little sick first thing. Semi skimmed is definately the best one for me to have.

but ive also got the bad habit of skipping breakfast now =/ blame my student years of not getting up til lunch time and also not wanting milk when i wake up. I've been having bagels and crumpets in the mornings these days. lol

laziness does not come into it here for me.

Allow me to tell you why I, a lazy good for nothing millennial, usually forgo cereal for breakfast.

My day begins as I wake up, shower, and make myself look nice to tackle a day of classes and labs that move me ever-so-slightly closer to my bachelors in zoology, tasks to complete as a leader of a large and influential student organization, studying, looking for jobs, trying to find a new home to move to, and keeping up with my various friends (not to mention my hobby of moderating this very forum and roleplaying therein). With so much to do, I often don't have time to get out dishes, cereal, milk, etc, sit down to breakfast, and clean everything up afterwards before I run out the door, so I opt for a piece of fruit and/or granola bar instead. On days when I do have time for breakfast, I tend to opt for oatmeal or an egg sandwich, because if I'm going to take the time to sit down to an actual meal involving dishes and cleaning and such, I should probably make it one where I actually put something nourishing in my body.

So there you have it. The secret behind our millennial "laziness" is that we're in fact doing a million different things and need to get the most out of our time. Honestly, a lot can be said about this article, how it provides no hard data even in what it cites and how it's giving the same weak argument that countless articles give these days, but at the end of the day it's an article in which someone set aside time out of their own life to call an entire generation childish while complaining that cereal doesn't come with toys anymore and that they can't eat a certain cereal because it reminds them of a "weird fandom", and that's really all that needs to be said.

You judge our generation for what we do after we finish our cereal and you believe an article that has no source whatsoever?

You've got to be kidding me.

Pardon my vulgar, but the next asshole who makes a stupid article like that about this generation needs to have their head surgically extricated from their rectal area and thoroughly cleansed.

I actually find cereal to be one of the fastest things to make for breakfast. If I'm running close on time, I usually grab a bowl because it's quicker than cooking an egg. Also tastes better than anything from a microwave, most of the time.

I make and eat oatmeal almost every morning. It's very good for you. Oh, I don't mean instant stuff either. I like it with a little honey and some raisins thrown in. If I don't make oatmeal, I like plain shredded wheat with milk.

(I'm not a millennial though. I'm 37)

But I thought cereal was lazy people food. It's one of the easiest things to eat. I would always eat cereal when I was too lazy to make a meal.

I love cereal. My favorite is Honey Bunches of Oats

Washing a bowl? Pfft, what's that? Who washes bowls anymore? I mean, who even eats cereal anymore? Clearly cereal is a dying food, and why waste the time eating it when you have to clean the bowl? I mean, cleaning a bowl? Who in the whole world does that, sounds like a dead fashion trend to me. Don't even try to bring that back, it only got around 30 likes on Insta. We'll all be eating out of tubes and shiny self cleaning plates and have robots do it for us anyways in 10 years.

If a cereal bowl is too hard to clean then eating anything that requires further dishes than simply a spoon or a fork is too hard.

The logic is flawed from the ground up.

Yeah who am I, Fred Flintstone? That's caveman stuff just throw out those bowls and buy new ones. I'll stick to drinking out of my hamster tube.

F##k this article! I love cereal! It's tastes great!

Like as was mentioned, it's one of the fastest and easiest things to prepare. I don't have time for microwaves in the morning. 30 seconds and it's done.  And anypony who says cereal doesn't taste great, is obviously eating the wrong kind. You have options!

Oh and about being too lazy to wash out the dishes. I eat out of paper bowls and plastic spoons. Your argument is invalid.

I don't eat cereal very often; maybe once or twice every few months. But it isn't because I'm lazy; it just isn't that appealing.

A bowl of cereal is genuinely one of the easiest damned things you can "make" for yourself to eat.

Step 1: Pour cereal into a bowl.

Step 2: Pour milk into the same bowl.

Step 3: Eat the f****** cereal.

Turning this into a "boo, awful millennials" issue is silly, but complaining about the "difficult" process of mixing two pre-made ingredients into a bowl is just as silly.

This is quite a surprise to hear that cereal is shown to be "too much of a hassle to clean up". It seems like people are becoming more and more lazier to clean up after themselves, or even decide not to anymore.

Apparently so.  Step into the modern age of modern cereal; it's very modern.
