If Hasbro/Faust confirmed that generation 4 MLP has history in all gens

Well, I wouldn't say that something that Faust confirms is cannon at least not after she left the show.

If Hasbro said it I would get extremely confused as we have not seen any evidence of it. And then I would get even more confused when I start to draw a parallel between "Rescue at Midnight Castle" and "Twilights Kingdom".

Wouldn't be surprised. Hasbro has a record of not paying much attention to continuity.

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

we've seen bits and pieces in a few episode, but that's beside the point. So long as Hasbro hypothetically confims

I'd accept it if they actually acknowledged the fact in the cartoon somehow.  If it doesn't happen (or at least be mentioned) in the cartoon then it doesn't happen at all, the announcement would be meaningless.

what if they alredy did, though? Pinkie Pie's face change, in "too many pinkie pie's" (g3), somnambula reference in "the Crystalling", (g1), crystal heart being a g1 relic (g1)...

 What bits and pieces?

Also I would argue that "Twillights Kingdom" proves that gen 1 isn't cannon in any way.

A nod back to earlier gens in the form of an Easter egg doesn't equate to recognition of past events.  A lot of the characters in G4 have been almost direct copies of characters from the earlier generations, and in addition to the characters themselves, a lot of other content gets recycled.  It goes without saying that Equestria does have a past, but I think suggesting that there is continuity between generations is a bit of a stretch.

again, it shouldn't matter what bits. The op asked would you agree or disagree if Hasbro said it was all canon. That's the topic of discussin, here.

Hey there :)

Considering that this topic does not specifically talk about FiM, but about a hypothetical situation concerning it and previous generations, I have moved it to a more appropriate section  :)

The topic of discussion is what you would think if Hasbro said that past gen was cannon. And if I were to be able to say what I would think then I would need to know all of the evidence that supports that. You have claimed that there's evidence that supports it so I would need to know about that evidence in order to say what I would truly think. So what bits it was would actually matter.

but by you asking for evidence from me that supports that, is you asking my opinion on wpwhat ties the gens together in canon

I don't work for Hasbro, and this would be their hypothetical decision to call, as stated in the op. So I'm not going to toss my own opinion in, and answer that.

I don't even consider all of the comics canon, let alone any mentions of previous generations. I'd especially deny it considering there were humans in at least G1, and aside from EQG I don't need any humans in the franchise.

Basically admitting to all past gens being considered canon in FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC-just before the founding of Equestria- would you accept that admittance as g4 canon? Would you vehemently deny it?

I mean, just as the mlp history was a bit on the ''dark'' side for some, so were many other shows, so how is that any different?

Its a part of the shows past, so I think we should have to embrace it, personally.

Well, what if it is? If Hasbro says that, but shows nothing of it in the show, it's pretty much meaningless, except throwing a bone at some people, who like that idea.

The little kids, who aren't into the fandom could care less.
