spoiler Why was Big Mac so uncomfortable?

When Starlight cast the spell on him, why did he seem so uncomfortable with talking? He's talked at length before (last time being during one of the most beautiful scenes in the entire show), so what was the big deal? was it just because it was against his will?

Big Mac's always been a pony of few words, only talking when it's been necessary or important. Thanks to Starlight's spell, he was being forced against his will to speak his mind, probably with no filter whatsoever. Just imagine if you were suddenly compelled to speak without end, how much torture that would be.

Because if Big Mac had enjoyed it, there would have be no need for AJ to make this face:

Best AJ moment of season six, no contest.

There is a difference between being compelled to speak vs. being forced to speak. Seeing Applebloom sad and distraught compelled Big Mac to speak his mind and let it all out. With Starlight casting that spell on him, he was forced to speak without his own free will.

I will say that while that scene with his articulate vocabulary was indeed funny, the show staff can only use the same joke over and over before it gets predictable.

(edited)

Like others have said, it's because he had no control over it whatsoever and was being forced against his will to talk.

It was hilarious awful as to how she tried justifying the reasoning for using the spell in the first place.

But seriously, that was impressive self-control for AJ to not buck her in the face after what she did to him.

It just isn't like Big Mac. It's not normal and out of character for him, thus no one around him is going to be comfortable with it. Starlight cast a spell not to help Big Mac or anyone else, but just to serve herself by making someone else act the way she wants.

Big Mac has a lot on his mind, he just chooses to not express them. What Starlight did to him was sort of like a truth serum that makes him spill out the beans. That's why he was uncomfortable.

Because Starlight Glimmer ended up casting a spell that forced Big Mac into constantly talking without any sort of filter, without his consent and against his will.

This.

This scene simply displayed that Starlight still has very little regard for the feelings of those around her, and thus her psychopathic tendencies have not been eradicated entirely.

And that's fine, honestly. It's far too unrealistic to assume that her severe mental issues can be fixed with only friendship. The problem I truly have is that the mane six apparently trust her at this point, even though she possess a belief that controlling others to serve only herself is not a wrong or immoral thing to do.

And if that's the case, she is not worthy of anyone's trust. Hell, what reason does Applejack even have to trust her again now?
