do you miss the elements of harmony?

So, here's a question: The Elements of harmony, as we all know, were more or less disposed off in the S4 premiere, and apart from Rainbow power, have made zero appearances in the show since (Table missions not-withstanding).

Do you miss the elements of harmony as an aspect of the show, and would you like to see them return or stay gone?

While they're certainly nostalgic, their existence started to make the resolutions of the two-parters become a touch formulaic. I don't mind them being gone.

I loved them while they were around, but I am happy that they were done away with, but in a proper way. They were just becoming a band-aid solution for everything, so to see them be properly put to rest was very nice. Unlike Rainbow Power. Which existed, then didn't exist, all within one episode.

I thought the idea of giving them back to the Tree of Harmony worked out very well. It was a rather subtle message about caring for the environment. The semi-sentient tree rewarded Twilight quite handsomely with a castle for returning the elements to their rightful place. I liked the outcome.

Meh, fine with me. They were a bit overused at first, so with them gone, the show's more enjoyable for me.

The Mane Six themselves are the Elements of Harmony.

While this is a nice thematic statement, its pretty clear that the ability to do giant rainbow things and defeat villains Only stemmed from either the Gems themselves or the tree itself :P

Without either they kind of are just 6 good friends there. (Which is one reason I think there's been a lot less focus on the other 5 in the last two parters and the comics when it comes to villain situations)

They were nice while they lasted, but at this point, using them over and over would just get repetitive. They served their purpose and now it's time to move on. If they should have a good reason to come back into the storyline, by all means, use them. Otherwise, let them die a dignified death.

I don't actually really miss them, but it was pretty cool when there was the elements of harmony. They used it when they were supposed to so it doesn't really make sense to bring them back. So, I don't actually miss them.

This depends entirely on whether a person feels the comics are canon. The comics have shown than the characters can harness the Elements of Harmony without physical proximity.

Kinda like Sailor Moon? Or like in the Equestria Girls movies?

Can't walk around with a op end everything all the time

Nope, I don't miss them. All they did with the elements was to "gather them" and then all evil was defeated. It worked a few times, but it would have gotten waaayy too boring and repetitive if it continued further in the series.

Off tangent, but:

To be honest, I think the master sword is a good example of something that can be wandered around with WITHOUT being an OP end everything item; Generally the master sword is insufficient to defeat the villain without gathering the aid of several other powerful beings as well (Oot, Link between worlds, Twilight princess, ect.). Normally Link requires the aid of the triforce and either Sages or other similar beings of magical power to aid him in order to actually defeat his foe.

I think the master sword would more be on par with something like the power ponies level abilities while the Triforce would be more comparable to the EOH since its usually that that guarantees victory.

I'm fine with the Elements of Harmony being put on the back burner for the time being after they were returned to the Tree of Harmony and granted Rainbow Power to the Mane Six. I'm sure that the only time they will be needed again is if another big bad like Lord Tirek rears their ugly face sometime in the future.

I'd like the Elements of Harmony to return only when something totally drastic happens such as the Mane 6 get taken out of the picture and 6 other ponies have to step in as representatives of each of the elements to save Equestria.

Not particularly. Then again, we haven't had an incidence that have required them... yet.

On this note, meant to say, the show kind of seems to have started to seem like its fallen a bit in two parters since the EOH were gone; Everything seems vastly more low key, and The cutie remark and the crystaling just seem to be poor follow ups to Twilight's kingdom. (The cutie mark map was also low key, but it gets a pass for being well written and finally using the other 5 as more than cameos again).

It just seems like the finales are like if DBZ went from Fighting Cell to fighting Raditz again.
