Would you write fanfiction between your OC and any MLP character?

Out of all the characters in MLP, which character would you write a fanfiction with your own OC? If so, what would be your reason?

If I were to make a fanfiction about an actual character from the show and my OC I would probably do one with Zecora.

I feel like they both would share a good amount of interests and get along pretty well.

At the risk of sounding incredibly generic, probably Fluttershy to be honest.

 

 

Fluttershy may not be my favorite from the show.... Heck, she might not even be my favorite of the mane 6, but at the risk of sounding like an incredibly cringey neckbeard, I feel like I understand Fluttershy than any of the other mane 6. I'm not sure I could write anything impactful or meaningful about Hocus Pocus and her encounter with Discord or Twilight. It'd go just about how you expect it. Discord trolls and Twilight goes on and on about books/friendship.

 

Fluttershy on the otherhand, I feel I would be able to write better than the others mostly because I feel I actually have material I could give her. Material from a dream I once had where her and I had a little heart-to-heart which is way too long to post here, but if you really want to know, here's a link to the thread

If you mean just them doing stuff together, I already did it.

It's called "Trip". Look it up. I paired myself with Twilight going on a trip to Appleloosa. They have mountains there apparently.

I've actually done quite a bit of stuff with that before...

 

A lot of them deal with Meson Bolt's inherent bluntness and also his proneness to develop crushes instantly, so... Rainbow Dash, Spitfire and Trixie.

HOWEVER, small run-ins are acceptable. Or even... well, here's an example.

 

Farms almost always need help. Sure, Applejack's doesn't, but that's to show her as being super durable and responsible. However, I've seen quite a few fanfics that tackle the harvest on Sweet Apple Acres where an OC is simply a hired hand/hoof. I see nothing wrong with that.

Same here. I've written fanfic about the Mane Six helping my OCs with defeating a villain, and also my OCs interacting with the Princesses. But I don't write shipping fics or fics that show all as best friends. My main OC Clover does sell her magic books to Twilight but then, Twilight loves books. XD

If I ever write a fanfic, I'd probably only have random show characters make cameo appearances, but I wouldn't want to risk upseting anyone by not giving them their true personality (dispite their personalities always changing on the show for the sake of a plot). That, and I wouldn't want to include any steriotypes in my stories… sorry Mane6

 

That said, if I did use any characters, they would probably the following: Discord, Sonata, Vinyl, Soarin, Octavia and Spike.

I'd probably write a fanfiction between Eternal Flames and Rarity. Although then again, I'm not particularly good with writing fanfics. But I have had some help with writing a script for this sequel to this fanmade series on YouTube called Turnabout Storm.

I plan on having a run in with Rarity as she looks like a friend my OC had a crush on and was his best friend, but lost her to Sombra(not romanticly). So when in ponyville, he stumbles upon Rarity he has a minor freakout thinking he's seen a ghost.

Ah-ha-ha! AH-HA-HAAA!  Fhew...gimmie a moment....the concept alone made me cackle myself into hysterics.

 

Haaa...I can only imagine! Practically have full running bits playing in my mind about how it'd go down for each of my rather chaotic personas.

 

    Twilight & her friends & likely most of Ponyville already have their hooves full with trying to put up with Discord. Can you imagine mixing another draconequus into the mix? One that has even less of a grasp on what his powers do or enough sanity to learn that maybe ponies don't like being played with like croquet mallets!  Oh, I don't plan on Widdershins livin' it up with the main characters no, but they would certainly have to keep an eye on his attempts to "help." I can totally see him meeting first, and shacking up with the Flower Fillies of Rose, Daisy & Lilly and Three's Company-style shenanigans ensuing!  He overhears the three complaining about the lack of eligible stallions in Ponyville so he immediately leaps to the best solution of turning eeeverypony else in Ponyville into stallions! Hoh! The antics!

 

    I can see Ambie's story running like a romantic comedy. His awkwardness around mares & pretty much everything would keep you constantly tensed up about which canonical character he'd wind up with because you could tell from the story's tone that's where these rom-coms always wind up as! Constantly pinging between each of the mares, equally accidently insulting one on one day then being sweet & caring the next scene. There has GOT to be a few fanfics out there of RD getting mistaken for a stallion...

 

   As for the hydra (Yes, I have a hydra character. I am nothing if not original in my characters!) it practically writes itself! I can see Blither being found in town hall asking for help tracking down his siblings; before they can do too much harm like they usually do. Eventually winding up accidently triggering the reassembling part of the spell that holds Gallimaufry together & thereby blowing half of town hall off & leaving a near 30-foot self-enraged hydra in the middle of a town of easily demolished huts. Then it'd be up to the main six to wrangle each of the six heads in their own ways before Mauf tramples flat half the town. Though I can just as easily see Gallimaufry coming into town on Nightmare Night in an effort to fit into pony society (both metaphorically & literally)  and wind up by the end of the night serving as a tilt-a-whirl ride for the little fillies & colts.

 

  And yes, I suppose I did take the cheap way out & paired each of my characters with not only the whole main cast but the entire town, but if you don't involve eeeeveryone then how are you going to have a right, rip-snortin' tale?

Suppose the only thing that's keeping me from doing such fanfickery is resources & my little habit of jumping onto my next big idea before I've fully funded the last eighteen OCs.  I'm like the Tessla of fanfiction!

No, my fanfictions are completely separated from the main setting. I don't find any of the original characters to be at the pace of mine.

Which is why I treat my interpretation as an alternate reality.
