If there were a huge war and you were drafted what would you do?

Say a huge WWII-esque war broke out, as unlikely as that may be, just hypothetically one did and they started drafting both men AND women for everything from Yaomen, to Sailors to infantry and you got chosen what would you do?

I don't think I'd have much of a choice. Either I'd be cannon fodder because I'm completely physically unfit or I would be left alone because neither my sight or hearing are good enough for combat situations and I'm not suited for quick thinking. I dunno how drafts are handled when someone isn't of even average fitness or wellness.

Depends on what we are fighting over. If it is like WWII and it is a decent reason to fight, I would fight. If it were a war similar to the Vietnam War where there is no decent reason for us to be fighting, I would do anything I can to get out of the draft. I would probably try to find a loophole in the draft.

Why isn't one mare army an option? Idk I think tbh I would just deal with it whatever happens. Also idk what a Yaomen is. If you mean which division would I go into? Um, idk whichever one is like, the most good and least risk, I like efficiency. Or something low stress. Or the psychological experiments divisions, I like secret knowledge, I like consideration of not-before-had information, I like exploring the concept of necessary or moral mass manipulation because of curiosity and idk philosophy or morality's limited scope is usually individual, this would be larger than individual.

 

Also I would be the guy going around saying, if you give this order they'll misunderstand it its inferior to making this order sorta thing, I would try reworking the system, if I had the proper knowledge. Also if I could be an idea person I would try that.

 

But also if I could avoid it I prolly would don't wanna go through training when it'd probably give me more psychological issues and I have a heart problem sometimes so yeah, maybe due to sugar, but likely due to getting strep throat 40 times from fam intentionally, it can cause heart problems. That and being a gamer I have low cardio/lung capacity.

 

Maybe a fighter pilot, I might be too tall though, very likely, but if I wasn't, and I could get my legs engineered to not suffer vein damage from fighter piloting then I would, because fighter pilots have some of the best visual processing in the world its pretty sweet. But I need to wear glasses is the issue so, I would get my eyes engineered for super eyes. I totally would.

If there were to be a draft again, with no bias toward gender, then there's going to be no choice for much of anyone who is physically fit for war. And much like WW2, things can get desperate and they will pick out those who aren't even fit to survive more than two seconds. So, best bet for anyone who doesn't want to be in it, is to flee to a country that has no extradition laws and hope that they never get thrown into the war. But, once you flee to that country, just know that you may never return home, even after the war is finished, whenever that may be. So, think about that, too.

 

For me, I'd just accept the change in fate and jump into the fray. I'd state that I'm not a frontlines soldier and better suited for recon and stealthy type missions that they deem necessary for the benefit of the war. Being out of the frontlines, I do have a slightly higher chance at survival.

My guess is that it would depend how desperate they were - anyone who can be taught enough to keep a truck on the road (i.e. practically everyone) can be used in logistics to drive important boxes from A to B, load and unload transport vehicles etc. which frees up soldiers who are more combat oriented to go and fight. 

 

As to what I would do - well, if I had a choice I would take a desk job; combat isn't really my thing. Mathematics is though, so I guess that would be something computer or logistics related.

They would find a non combat position for me. I would file as a conscientious objector and I'd work on a farm, fix roads or something. Im not afraid of dying in the slightest, but I wont turn against all my principles and take the lives of others away because a bunch of politicians say I have to.

Well, my great-grandpa told me that I should avoid going into the military unless I'm drafted, so... I imagine that if things get to that bad of a point, my death won't really matter.

I'd join the fight of course, due to having myopia sadly I don't think I could join the air force I don't really care much about where I would be put. Still I suppose I'd prefer to be in the marines, drive a tank and stuff I think I would be best fit there. Or submarine, I'd enjoy the whole underwater stuff especially as it would mostly be launching a couple of nukes then wait out the nuclear winter. Probably won't be that type of battle though, ww3 will likely be a nuclear one so there won't be much of a battle as such.

I would accept the draft, but I would hope that they'd put me in a non-combat role. I would want to do my part to help defend my country, but I just couldn't bring myself to directly take the life of another human being. Thankfully, my eyesight isn't very good so I might not be given an infantry job.

Would depend who I was fighting. If there was the 4th option of "Would try to join the opposing team/country instead", I would choose that if I would have to fight Russia or Syria.

If I was drafted then I'd go, it's my duty as a citizen. 

 

Edit: That is of course if it's for a just cause. WW2 was a just cause, some bs war with Russia over geopolitics I'd probably book a flight to Sweden. I love America and being an American and will fight for this country and what it stands for but lately we've been taking a nose dive in the morals and ideas that this country is supposed to stand for.

I won't have much of an issue being drafted, but I'm not particularly fit enough nor do I have good eyesight to take any sort of combat role. Probably end up doing some non-combat work. Have asthma too. 

 

Though I doubt we would even need to draft. There's less and less of a reason to start world wars, let alone even touch the nuclear buttons. People who think nuclear war would happen have been watching way too many apocalypse movies lately.

What I wouldn't do definitely is I wouldn't participate in it just because, without any pesonal reasons. If there would be such reason, like to protect something or someone important I would do my best to do it. Otherwise I would try to avoid it. My life is coin which I would spend by myself only. No other people can achieve their goals paying with it.
