spoiler Is it bad that I find 28 Pranks' zombies creepier than The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead's zombies, while fascinating in theme and lore, don't really give me the willies all that much since they fit with the overal tone. The cookie zombies here seem way more unsettling because their supposed to be ponies for young girls.

(Note that I'm in no way saying it effects the quality of MLP compared to TWD).

I don't know about creepier, but I think the pony zombies are more alarming than the Walking Dead zombies because we're very emotionally invested in the characters that supposedly turn into zombies here. I mean, we all know it's fake, but even then it's kinda gut wrenching to watch sweet, innocent characters like Pinkie or Derpy turned into thoughtless monsters. On the other hand, I don't think even the mega fans of The Walking Dead know who the zombies were before they were zombies, so it doesn't bother the audience to watch them reduced to a menacing plot device. So I'd say it's more disturbing of a conception it to happen to ponies, but not "creepier".

Whether you find it creepier or not is up to you. But others have already said it; the visage of relatively cute, innocent, and familiar characters like the ponies being turned into mindless, bloodthirsty monsters is such a whiplash that you can't help but get an eerie feeling out of it.

This was a prank, Walking Dead was real in their universe, anyway, these were cookie zombies, rather than flesh eating zombies. Zombie pranks are not new, you should see Japanese pranks, some have Zombies in them, but that was the whole point of the prank shows, and this episode, to loosen up, to have a good nature laugh, that everyone can join in. Remember this is a family animated show, versus an mature horror drama, you should be able to see each program with a different view, as was in MST3K theme song, "Just repeat to yourself, it's just a show, I should really just relax."

To answer the titular question, it isn't bad, just not what I suspect most would agree with. To me I don't find zombies themselves creepy since I have a fondness for pathology and A&P. What I find creepy/unsettling in the Walking Dead universe is the atmosphere and environment of an unlived civilization gone to rot.

They tried to play off of the emptiness trope, but not a fallen society due to the time. So yeah, my answer is it wasn't creepier than WD for me.
