spoiler Would you like to see Gladmane return?

so, as the topic says, would you like to see Gladmane return? I kind of get the feeling he'd make a good foil/antagonist for AJ, especially since Flim and flam are now "reformed". I always kind of felt that Flim and flam felt off as nemesis for AJ, but I kind of like Gladmane for that role.

Would you think he'd be a good recurring antagonist for AJ?

He was actually kind of fun as a bad guy. Being a guy about "friendship" at face value only to be a backstabber, trying to ruin friendships for monetary gain

Definitely wouldn't mind seeing him again

well.. his career was just ruined so he will either re build it and exact revenge or will remain nothing.. in that case he needs a second prance :P

Still makes no sense how that suddenly made Flim and flam own his casino...

like, Dafuq? its not like he's just a manager and the owner can appoint a new one, he OWNED that place.

I wouldn't mind seeing him again! But I also wouldn't mind not seeing him again. He was really no big deal to me, but he was a likable antagonist! He's pretty much on the same category as Suri Polomare - wouldn't mind it either way! ^_^

While it would be interesting to see Gladmane make a return, I don't know what direction they can go with him moving forward. He was your typical con-artist villain with a pretty cliche motivation. AJ and Flutters ran him out of business in Las Pegasus, so I think he falls in the category of "one off villains" like: Lighting Dust, Suri Polomare, and Svengallop. Then again, the show has surprised me in the past so I wouldn't shut out a return from him all entirely  ;)

Hey @@Unlikeable Pony, since the thread's about a character from the new episode, a spoiler tag's been added to it. :)

I'd like to see him again, he's a fun character. I found him interesting and entertaining to watch!  :fluttershy:  Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be seeing him again anytime soon. And if we do, he'll probably be doing the same thing but with a different setup, like Flim and Flam did in their other 2 episodes. :P

I would like it, mostly because he's like the only villain to act that smart (Besides Starlight) and perhaps to star in an episode with Starlight (Because In my opinion they were doing the same thing for diffrent reasons), but it likely won't happen. Most of the time, when a small "villains" return, that's because they had a unique personality and design that is both fun and can be put into more interesting episodes, like Flim&Flam and Trixie. Gladmane just doesn't have that uniqueness, he's more along the lines of Lightning Dust, one-off character to be the enemy of one of the Mane 6 for just that episode.

Another thing is, how would they even return him? What do you do with a character like him? The most you can do is ha e him own another business and bring that down too, but that's too repetitive.

The point of Flim and Flam helping was that it was a one time deal so they are not reformed.

I think Gladmane could come back but why a villain just for Applejack? Someone else can go to Las Pegasus and deal with him for some other reason, he is naturally connicöving person who will be up to somthing anyway, I do not need any revenge plot. And Applejack expecially would be a poor choice for him to interact with since they already did and Applejack has similar thing going on with Flim and Flam. Better have Twilight using her brainw against him or something.

He should marry Suri Polomare, and together they can start an evil company of evil.  Then they should hire Wind Rider and Svengallop who are likely looking for an evil job with a bit of vengeance on the side. They can even get in touch with Dr. C and Ahuizotl who lord over the whole artifact smuggling business and earn extra money as their cover. Oh, so much evil!

As for AJ, I always imagined her potential nemesis as some thieving highwaypony with more western oomph. Being a fat old con artist, Gladmane is just so unflattering to have as an arch enemy. Granted, it’s not as bad as a bland, overpowered unicorn born from writers’ lack of imagination.

>Implying Lighting dust shouldn't return and wouldn't make for a great recurring nemesis for Rainbow dash.

Damnit, I want my Wind rider x Lightning dust team up episode....

No. I am too afraid of even the potential for him to get redeemed.

LOL, yeah, lots of redemption going on lately.

I think Gladmane could come back but why a villain just for Applejack?

I think he specifically works very well as a foil to AJ, compared to the other mane six; Like AJ he's a very business focused pony, with a real head for things, and despite being evil, he IS a hard worker, he just works hard at dicking others over for his own gain.

So he's rather a good counter to AJ, in that he seems alot like how she could be if she put her business talents towards selfish ends and lied-- he does a very good job of seeming to be much like AJ on the outside, caring about friendships and others and being (Outwardly truthful), so its a good contrast to how AJ TRULY acts that way.

Not until I get my Lightning Dust redemption episode.

But really, an episode which emphasizes him more could easily be enjoyable, because he's a character who's fun to hate. However, I dunno if he has anything new left to offer, and on top of that I'm kinda bored by the proliferation of villains. I just don't think every character needs an antagonistic foil, and don't see how much it can really add to the show. So, I guess I'm indifferent either way.
