spoiler What kind of content do we want for season 7?

Of the final decisions I made, in one episode, the Mane Six and Starlight all together go to an amusement park; in one of the Cutie Map episodes, two of the Mane Six ponies go to Fillydelphia, and in another episode (preferably the Pinkie/CMC one), it takes place in a circus.

  • 04 = This episode must NOT revolve around the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I want this episode to be centered on all the Mane Six ponies and Starlight Glimmer.

Is this because One Bad Apple, Bloom & Gloom and On Your Marks were all the fourth episodes of their seasons?

There was one idea I heard earlier today that I thought might be interesting. Introduce another two parter somewhere in the season as there are certainty stories that carry enough gravitas are complicated enough that would be better served across the course of two episodes.

For the obligatory musical episode next season, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity or Fluttershy should get it. As Twilight and Pinkie kind of already had theirs, as did Starlight Glimmer and definitely the CMCs. Magical Mystery Cure, Pinkie Pride, Crusaders Of The Lost Mark and A Hearth's Warming Tail have all been among the show's best so there's no reason to expect anything less than stellar.

For the next three map episodes, out of the nine remaining pairings, I would like the next three to be Rarity/Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash/Applejack and Twilight Sparkle/Pinkie Pie.

I want an episode featuring Cadance properly as there was this moment in To Where And Back Again where I thought she had avoided capture but then the show fell into its bad habits. I do not ever want to see Luna and Celestia being captured again, they are supposed to be most powerful ponies in Equestria. If there is one thing The Crystalling demonstrated, it's that they can occupy an active role. If not, simply remove them altogether from the stakes, as the masterful The Cutie Re-Mark and The Cutie Map demonstrated.

Perhaps there'll be some build-up to the movie, maybe not but for the other standard episodes, I know that they'll continue the upward trend of making the stories more varied and nuanced (See the entire of Season 6 for reference, particularly Viva Las Pegasus and Top Bolt).

Celestia needs an episode.

Zecora needs to be shown.

Don't make Starlight an alicorn, although she is still more deserving of it than Flurry Heart.

That would however reduce the impact both the premiere and finale have. While more two-parters would be nice to tell more elaborate stories, the premiere and finale need to feel special. Also, we don't need that elaborate plots to enjoy an episode. In fact, I think many a brony's favourite episode is not a two-parter.

I agree 100%for the princesses part. I want more love for them and feel that it would do the show much good to have its princesses in the limelight for once instead of just standing there to look pretty. :sunbutt:

Guardians of harmony pls

Also, I would rather the people who wrote Gauntlet of Fire and Everfree wrote premieres and finales, Haber is good, but I think Gauntlet of Fire felt like a proper two parter...and it wasnt even a two parter

Yeah, there are a bunch of episodes that are not premieres or finales that are my favorites, and I do agree that the Princesses need some time in the limelight instead of being nothing more than punching bags for the writers with having them kidnapped or incapacitated in a way that they can't help save the day, especially with how they were treated in the Season 6 finale as well with Luna being the only one who was actually seen struggling with her kidnappers, then all of them being shown helpless in the cocoons, and not even showing when they were freed from said imprisonment any way when the Changelings reformed and made up for kidnapping them in the first place. :sunbutt::orly::love::adorkable:

From their point-of-view? Like first-person?

Exactly. When I heard first about PPOV(A pony point of view) I tought we see an episode in first person XD this kinda woke up my interest for an episode like that

Legends never die. Ponies neither.

I just want more slice of life, and more relationally driven stories.

I'm pretty happy with how season 6 has gone, so more of the same would satisfy me.

For instance, the opening episode is usually a big epic adventure, but this year it was mostly a relationship thing with a danger in the background.

If you forced me to pick something specific to excite me, I'd want to see the earth pony nature of alicorns celebrated.

Curse you, worf effect trope! Curse youuuuu! :=:

I'd been imagining a premiere or finale with almost the exact opposite happening. Celestia watching as everypony else is put out of commission. A few lines indicating that this time, she cannot afford standing on the sidelines as those ponies grow stronger, more mature and independant by the day.

She then sets off, uses the sun to draw power and blast her way in, liberating th others or helping them be back on their hooves and falls back to her supporting role after giving the push they needed to overcome the situation.

After the day has been saved, she turns to Twilight and makes her take note that help will not always come, and that she should never overestimate herself nor grow overconfident despite her achievements.

That's just an example, there could be much, muuuch more material that Celestia alone could bring. Not even mentioning the other princesses at this point.

Also, I second weesh. The earth pony part is hardly ever highlighted, such a shame...

Well, all things considered, Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Shining Armor, and Twilight all had a part in the Season 6 premiere with saving the Crystal Empire from the Frozen North. Cadance and Shining Armor performed the Crystalling with Sunburst, while Celestia, Luna, and Twilight, aided by Starlight, held the shattered Crystal Heart together long enough for Sunburst to add the Purity Crystal to it to restore it into one piece again.

They all had a part there in saving the Crystal Empire, aptly dubbed the "Royals Who Actually Do Something" trope, so that counts for something before getting screwed over in the Season 6 finale by the writers like they have been so many times in previous episodes. :sunbutt::orly::love::adorkable:

Same here. Maybe it will happen in a future episode instead.

What kind of content do I want? Hm...

Another appearance of Moon Dancer, Coloratura, and Diamond Tiara.
Also, have less Applejack episodes that make her look stupid. AJ's Day Off and Cart Before the Ponies were painful.

This isn't pretty but it's what I am tonight.

Basilisks, Gorgons, Furies, Titans, the Kraken, Sphinxes, and Satyrs and Fauns. And those are just examples.

gorgons, sphinxes, satyrs and fauns are all based on humans.  Seems like furies are too.

they are a huge flavor mismatch for a world without humans.

Krakens being water based certainly makes it hard to have a story line featuring them

totally makes sense that the everfree could have a few basilisks...but they did sort of cover that ground with the cockatrices

What are your ideas, then?

I spent several weeks trying to come up with a list of mythical creatures with which to play a game in my local brony club.

I ended up using yaks, hipogryffs and sea ponies...

because I couldn't think of a single additional mythical creature that was all of:

  1. widely known
  2. likely to be sentient, highly intelligent, and have a complex culture in the MLP world
  3. not already in the series
  4. no glaringly obvious human parts (Minotaurs got a pass, and something else might too)

Sure, you can dig deep into mythology and find things that aren't in the show, but they are pretty much universally unsatisfying.

The fact that hipogryffs were the BEST thing that I could think of is itself unsatisfying, because being partially horse could be weird.

I mean, I hope I'm wrong, and that there are cool additional species to add that I just haven't thought of.

There are always things like giraffes to add that could be cool.  Also, I'd love to see more of the other cultures that we have already seen, like the saddle arabians, the yaks, the griffons, and zebras

Time to not be a pessimistic douchebag!

An episode where Rainbow Dash loses her rainbow. I dunno how or why(maybe a prank gone wrong AKA how 28PL should've went). Considering she's known for being a natural...well, rainbow, maybe an episode that involves her losing her signature look could make for an interesting story

Tirek's a centaur with some modifications. I think they can find a way to work them in.
