BrawnyCharger 513 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Ever since I was a kid, my parents would watch British shows on PBS. More often than not they would be shown on Saturday nights. Ever since then I've grown accustomed to watching these British Comedies myself. I've always liked such ones as: -Monty Python -Fawlty Towers -Keeping Up Appearances -Chef! -Vicar of Dibley -Mr. Bean -Black Adder -The Young Ones -Are You Being Served? etc. What are your favorite Britcoms?
KiraTakahashi 748 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Omg Mr bean!! I grew up on him lol. And of course most of the list you said. Though I will add one that I really got into. Misfits. That show is funny as heck and it's about regular teens getting super powers. 2 +My life's it's own cartoon show.+
Merrypaws 71 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Monty Python, yyeeeeesssss... Ministry of Silly Walks, Dead Parrot, Confuse-a-cat, Cheese Shop, Upperclass Twit of the Year... good times. I wasn't too into Mr. Bean, but I love Rowan Atkinson's other work. I heartily recommend the sketch where he plays the devil welcoming new souls into hell.
Quinch 1,120 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Hmmm. I'd say Allo Allo, Black Adder, The New Statesman and Bottom. I also enjoy Monty Python, but I wouldn't really classify it as a sitcom. 1 Current project: The Olden World audiobook What's to stop you?
Moony the Cat 3,704 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Is Little Britain an actual british britcom? If so, i would also count Come fly with me, to my favorites. If thats not Britcom and just counts as Comedy, i would go with Fawlty Towers. Sig made by Kyoshi
Ganondorf8 11,414 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Mr. Bean for sure. I've watched all of the episodes that were ever made, both movies, and a special called "The Best Bits of Mr. Bean" that was essentially a clip show with new footage in-between the clips. I've seen snippets of Black Adder, and various episodes of Faulty Towers, Keeping Up Appearances, Coronation Street, Neighbours, Eastenders, and so on. Red Cedar 1,408 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Fawlty Towers, Black Adder and Red Dwarf are my all-time faves. I should put in a special mention for Rumpole of the Bailey, though, since that show had a relative of mine playing a secondary character. Concerned Bystander 2,904 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 Alongside many of those already mention there is also the excellent 'Spaced' and 'Black Books'. Both excellent series, starring the likes of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Bill Bailey.
Once In A Blue Moon 895 November 9, 2016 Share November 9, 2016 (edited) I thoroughly enjoy Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. They're a little old* (the first came out in 1980), but a lot of it remains funny because the nature of politics hasn't changed - the scenes about helping other nations and who reads the papers are some of my favourite television moments. *although a Brexit special script was released just before one of the authors died, but it wasn't the same without Nigel Hawthorne as Sir Humphrey. Dreambiscuit 10,332 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 Fawlty Towers and Ab Fab. The latter is said to have a theatrical movie somewhere in the ether, but I don't know what happened with it.
BrawnyCharger 513 November 27, 2016 Author Share November 27, 2016 I guess I can include Jeeves and Wooster to the list. One of my personal favorites. Although listed under the drama category, It's plot lines make it lean heavily in the comedy portion.

BrawnyCharger 513 January 13, 2017 Author Share January 13, 2017 My parents are fans of All Creatures Great and Small, and To the Manor Born. Maybe I should try them. Nerdy Luigi 2,065 January 13, 2017 Share January 13, 2017 It's between Mr. Bean and Monty Python for me. Though yet again, I haven't watched many britcoms other than those two. They're probably both WAY funnier than most American sitcoms.
Twiggy 2,966 January 18, 2017 Share January 18, 2017 Monty Python is by far my favorite with Mr. Bean and Fawlty Towers tied for second. My favorite British reality show is also a comedy. It's called Nigel Farage speaking in European Parliament. Best show ever. My Ask Thread

BlueStreak98 828 January 18, 2017 Share January 18, 2017 (edited) Fawlty Towers is my personal favorite, with Monty Python's Flying Circus a close second, essentially in a tie. The Young Ones and Are You Being Served have their moments, but they're not as start-to-finish hilarious to me. As Paint Goes Dry--I mean, As Time Goes By has got to be one of the least interesting TV programs I've ever watched.
