How shocking, considering her young age, and that her mother said she was recovering. After expecting her recovery, I was looking forward to how great she was going to be in the next Star Wars movie, only to hear this. Even though I don't get moved much by celebrity deaths, this one hits pretty strong, considering how much I love Star Wars.

We're lucky that scruffy nerf herders like us got to be graced in her presence.

May we raise our glasses to her memory.

Sadly, that massive heart attack she experienced would ultimately be one that she couldn't overcome. I had heard that she was recovering from it but I guess it was too little, too late. Once again, 2016 has claimed another celebrity figure bringing the total up to eighty-six--much higher if you include everyone else from all walks of life--and will be remembered as a bad year in that sense. Still, I feel bad for her mother and daughter because she meant so much to them as well as to millions around the world.

I wonder what Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford will say in response to this unfortunate tragedy.

Another amazing part of her career that not many people know about what her script doctoring career:

She fixed the scripts of several films. In the following article, it states "Hook in 1991, Sister Act in 1992, Lethal Weapon 3 in 1992 and The Wedding Singer in 1998. In 1992, Entertainment Weekly called Carrie Fisher “one of the most sought after doctors in town”—high praise, and one of the only accolades that Fisher would ever receive in printed form, given that she was not credited by name as a writer for any of the films in which she had a hand."

I've never really considered myself a Star Wars fan, but I liked Carrie Fisher.  I appreciated her more later in her life; more for her sense of humor, wit, and honesty regarding her personal life.  Princess Leia was but a part of who she was; a funny, lovely, interesting woman.

Loved Star Wars since I was a kid. It was a bit devastating opening up Facebook this morning and finding out Carrie Fisher had passed away. Actually cried a little...:(

The Force will be with you, always, Princess. <3

P.S.

According to Lucasfilms, her scenes in Star Wars VIII had already been filmed and are all complete. So, at least there's a bit of a silver lining.

I must go a bit personal here. When i was 7 and for the first time watched the original star wars from 1977 (my big bro who is 10 years older then me, just bought the special edition box on VHS) i think i can remember Princess Leia being the first crush that i had. It was a very innocent boy crush, but if i had the power of the internet at that point, i would've probably posted very bad shipfics about her. :P

I kinda hoped that she would make it, after i heard about her heart attack 2-3 days ago. But 2016 decides to show his disgusting face one more time.

Rest in Peace Carrie Fisher. The force will always be with you. :(

2016 has been an absolute c**t on so many levels. Why did she have to die so soon? :( Same can be said for other well known celebrities who died this year.

Thanks Carrie Fisher, for our wonderful childhoods. :(  :(  :(

The passing of such a bright light from this world is hardest on those of us left behind. The next world can now rejoice in her presence and we can take comfort in the joy she gave us here. The greatest thing anyone can do in life is leave the world a better place, and that's just what Carrie did. She inspired, entertained, enlightened us and made us laugh.

I'll love you forever Carrie Fisher. God bless you and grant you eternal happiness.

Jesus Christ! It's already sad enough to hear that George Michael passed away a few days ago and then, suddenly, Carrie Fisher on top of him. I can only imagine God's face when he finds out.

I mean, who else is gonna leave us in these next 4 days? Tom Baker? Adele? Bill Murray? Michael J Fox?

Anyway, it is rather sad to see Carrie go.

Believe it or not, her mother -- R.I.P., Debbie Reynolds. :(

Yeah.  I just found that out recently as well.  Many say she died of a stroke.  But it was more of a broken heart.

We lost two great legendary actress, plus one musician all this week.  And personally, I'm just upset over this.

Star Wars was one of my favourite franchises since I was a little kid. Sure, I treated the movies as an entertaiment mostly (let's face it, they get pretty cheesy at times) but I still loved watching them. Princess Leia as a character was amazing. She witnessed all the sick things empire is capable of, on top of all death star destroying her entire home planet, killing all her friends and family in the process (at least she thought it is her family). Her character remained strong when even Luke Skywalker at one point was close to giving in to the dark side. There's not much to say - I loved her. As soon as I heard about a heart attack I sadly knew where it is coming and I so wish I was wrong. With Carrie Fisher gone watching 8th episode won't be the same. Her parts in it may be already recorded, but seeing her on screen will bring memory of what happened today.

I miss her greatly and I really hate this year for what it decided to do as a goodbye "gift".

May the force be with You, Carrie Fisher.
