Favorite is a toss up. So many amazing episodes in this season.

-The Fault in our Cutie Marks

-Hearths Warming Tail

-No second Prances

^Are probably the cream of the crop.

Worst is by FAR The Times they are a Changling. The episode had such a good message and they completely butchered it with horrendous execution! -.-

Runner ups are Flutter Brutter and Cart before the Ponies (but the latter of the two gets a pass from me for having such an amazingly catchy song /)^3^(\)

I liked a lot the one at Cloudsdale with Twilight and Rainbow Dash. But my favorite, like much people here is the Saddle Row Review. All the mane 6 are here, all their personnalities are well respected, the gags are very good and the sequences between past and present are intelligently organised.

The two worst episodes in my opinion are the one with Rarity and Applejack at the spa and Pony Point Of View. The personnalities aren't exactly respected and it's the only episodes where I can't laugh. The stories are also really boring. I hope the Fox brothers will do better in the next season.

Here the "top episodes" kind of topic again but i am still happy to talk about favorite episodes ;)

Worst episodes:

Applejack's Day Off. Terrible episode, it shouldnt exist, this kind of episodes shouldnt exist at all.

Cart Before The Ponies. This episode is pointless, dont waste CMC episode.

Dungeon and Discord. Waste Discord awesome power, they could just spend 2/3 of episodes to let Discord create fantastic "reality" boardgame.

On Your Mark. Not bad but really boring to watch.

Crystallling. A decent epidode, but cramming up 2 plots in 44 minutes bothers me so much and Flurry Heart story isn't interesting me.

Best episodes:

Stranger than Fanfiction.

A Heart Warming Tail

Saddle row Review

Flutter Brutter

No Second Prances

Honorable mention: Spice up your life, Buckball season, To Where and Back Again

I dont have any thing to talk about them, i just say they are the epidodes that made S6 to me.

For least favorites... Yeah, I don't really have episodes that I truly dislike, though "The Cart Before The Ponies" and "P.P.O.V." are my least liked S6 episodes.

Favourites

  • Best
  1. Dungeons & Discords (The best, because it's got Discord, humor and I nice lesson. Just beautiful.)
  2. The Times They Are A Changeling (Very touching song at the end and I loved Spike here.)
  3. No Second Prances (Loved the betrayal and the relating between Twilight en Trixie.)
  4. Top Bolt (It has a serious friendship problem which is hard to solve.)
  5. Every Little Thing She Does (Shows how much Starlight can do. A little bit overpowerd though.)
  6. Flutter Brutter (Zephyr. Need I to say more? Yes I do, Loved how Fluttershy stand up for her parents.)
  7. The Saddle Row Review (Loved the interviews and how they cared for Rarity.)
  8. To Where and Back Again - Part 2 (Starlight teaming up with Trixie, Thorax and Discord. True epic.)
  9. To Where and Back Again - Part 1 (A little bit worse then part 2, but it hadn't just the action. Btw: Celestia captured?)
  10. P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View) (Laughed my ass off at this episode. It's fun to see the different stories.)
  11. A Hearth's Warming Tail (A musical episodes is always great. + a little dept.)
  12. The Crystalling - Part 1 (The premier part 1 was better then two, because it was funnier and better written.)
  13. The Crystalling - Part 2 (To much rushed. With more time it would be better.)
  14. Gauntlet of Fire (I just don't like all kind of dragons. That's all.)
  15. Stranger Than Fan Fiction (Very funny with Quibble Pants and Rainbow Dashs discussions.)
  16. Newbie Dash (Rainbow Crash is a little overused and she acts like she hears it for the first time.)
  17. Buckball Season (It adds nothing and is just for fun.)
  18. On Your Marks (Apple Bloom is a little bit dumb in this episode I think. [Just my opinion])
  19. The Gift of the Maud Pie (It was well written, but I just don't understand she would give her party cannon to some guy for a rock pouch.)
  20. Applejack's "Day" Off (Well I skip always the part of the spa. I only enjoy the Twilight parts and I think it's weird AJ doesn't see the problem.)
  21. The Fault in Our Cutie Marks (Like "on your marks" it's add nothing and is not as funny.)
  22. Where the Apple Lies (I think it is a weird episode.)
  23. The Cart Before the Ponies (Just no. This could be so much better.)
  24. Spice Up Your Life (I can't watch it and is so stereotyped with all the fancy restaurants, with a song which I dislike.)
  25. Viva Las Pegasus (....)
  26. 28 Pranks Later (Just a disgrace.)

Best:

  1. The Times They Are A Changeling: Easily the best Spike episode and the best episode dealing with racism and xenophobia, which they failed to do massively in Bridle Gossip and Dragon Quest. You know that Shining Armor and Cadance are in the wrong, but you understand where they're coming from.
  2. A Hearth's Warming Tail: While the serviceable story's mostly absent, the music, animation, and graphics are among the show's best. All six songs (and, yes, haters, including Luna's Future) are awesome.
  3. The Saddle Row Review: Both Tail and TSRR are objectively equally great, so placement's a coin toss. TSRR has the best-written comedy, dialogue, and story of the entire season. This ep fits Nick Confalone's talents like a glove. He knows how to rite comedy in a lighthearted environment. When given the opportunity, he nails it.
  4. Gauntlet of Fire: This one's clearly a response to the harsh criticism DQ got for its xenophobic and sexist implications in the dialogue, characters, and moral (S2's worst by far). GoF fixed all of it. All of the dragons are considered "masculine," but only Garble's the threat. Torch is harsh, but wants his daughter Ember safe. Ember, meanwhile, is a very sympathetic character. She and Spike (who represented qualities considered "feminine") worked great as a team and formed a great friendship. Season 5 had a LOT of episodes where the main character's strengths were used rather than their weaknesses; this is no exception.
  5. The Fault in Our Cutie Marks: After On Your Marks, this was an excellent followup and continues the CMCs' direction. Gabby (nice PC callback, BTW) was great. But what really helped seal it is they don't throw away ponylore just for the sake of the plot. They stated that griffons can't get Cutie Marks and stuck to it.

Worst:

  1. Newbie Dash: The episode that would make MMC jealous in terms of awfulness. This episode was supposed to completely change the status quo of the show by promoting Dash to be a WB. Instead, it's 22 minutes of Dash torture pornography. Each time she was called "Rainbow Crash," her performance and confidence worsened. When she had real reason to feel upset, the script shot her down. For her impersonations were done to hide her lowering self-confidence and look better to her peers, the jokes fail. And in the end, they pull the 180 by calling it "a term of endearment." Hazing is NOT endearing, and the moral comes across as promoting a bullying subculture that governments are trying to stop.
  2. PPOV: The worst written episode of the show. The lone part that worked was Rarity's portrayal of pirate!AJ. But it would've been more funny had the whole ep not treat their division and misunderstanding as a really serious matter. All three lied their plots off. To make it worse, this is AJ's worst appearance of the entire show, as if DHX completely forgot how to write her in character.
  3. 28 Pranks Later: A fine example of how to write Mare Do Well worse. It completely fails to understand why MDW's so, so terrible. Rarity and AJ basically prodded Dash into performing more extreme pranks. Everyone's response to her pranks double the cruelty from MDW by having the entire town convincing her that Ponyville was overtaken by zombies. It's not funny. It's sadistic. And we're supposed to see this garbage as a GOOD THING? And don't get me started on the horrendous "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" moral (worse than ND's; at least ND's is more or less accidental).
  4. To Where and Back Again: Starlight's worst outing and the worst finale. Starlight is OOC: If she chose Trixie because she wanted to get more out of her comfort zone, I'd buy that. Instead, she chose Trixie because she's a better friend than Twilight. The whole finale was supposed to be the culmination of Starlight's and Thorax's arcs, but Thorax took part in ONLY Times, and Starlight's appearance dropped drastically in the second half. Her previous lead appearance: hypnotizing her friends as a first resort in a Lesson Zero ripoff. The worst part of this episode, though, was how the glue that put everything together — HOW everyone was kidnapped — was completely unexplained. Storytelling 101: NEVER leave a crucial plot point hanging.
  5. Flutter Brutter: Fluttershy, Dash, and the moral (S6's best) are great, but this episode actually stars Zephyr. On top of being both complete freeloader AND diva stereotypes, he's supposed to be sympathetic because he fears failure. How the hell can the audience believe him when he ALWAYS sidesteps everything and never even bothers to try to complete even the simplest tasks?! Show him points where he tries, fails, and eventually skips even the simplest task out of fear he'll screw up, and maybe you'll get somewhere.

BEST:

1. "A Hearth's Warming Tale" - A stunning, beautiful, and emotional reinvention of a classic story which makes it fresh again simply by introducing the context of the show's world and characters.

2. "The Fault in Our Cutie Marks" - A truly powerful episode which builds up a sense of crushing dread only to subvert it in the most wonderful of ways.

3. "Top Bolt" - Serviceable appearances from main characters livened up with strong humour, but the new characters really steal the show.

4. "Dungeons & Discords" - Fun, focuses on underseen characters, and has real character development for Discord. The platonic ideal of an episode.

5. "The Saddle Row Review" - Totally fresh situation injects the show with a surge of much-needed modernism. Lots of fun.

WORST:

1. "Applejack's Day Off" - Most prominent jokes are really awful ones about Rainbow doing something allegedly "uncool," which is so season 1. Aside from that? Total snooze fest.

2. "No Second Prances" - Nobody in this thinks for a second about how others feel until near the end, so who am I to latch on to? The jokes are terrible too, making this a real bore.

3. "The Cart Before the Ponies" - Squanders a lot of potential on an overly simple plot which is hard to give one damn about, and the mane six are at their worst with no extra depth. Yawn.

4. "P.P.O.V." - Kinda funny but terribly written and one of the worst examples of Twilight becoming an infallible wooden plank of a character, the scene where she finally solves her dumb friends' problems made me livid.

5. "Where the Apple Lies" - Tedious and formulaic, which is a shame given that seeing Applejack's past is pretty neat. Kinda sad that she's so much more open-minded as a teen than now, though.

I actually liked MOST of the episodes this season, and I just only didn't like a few.

Not the best

* AJ's Day Off - The episode was mostly just walking around and montages. For an awesome moral, the way they went through with it was pretty boring. Twilight and Spike's part could've been shown a little more, and also Twilight volunteers Spike to help her with Applejack's chores which was a repeated problem from Castle Sweet Castle. Also, another Rarijack episode?

* 28 Pranks Later - Some of Rainbow's pranks were too harsh, especially after Mr. Cake could've broke his jaw with that brick sandwich. Rainbow was way too OOC in this episode. Also this is the third Rainbow Dash episode in a row of major roles. Hopefully next season, main character episodes can be spread out a little more.

* A Hearth's Warming Tale - I know people are gonna STRONGLY DISLIKE me for this, but I didn't find this episode very appealing. I mostly judge an episode by its story, and this is just another Christmas Carol story. I LOVED the songs though! But if I wanted to listen to just music, I would just buy the album. The music pretty much explains the story, so listening to the songs is just like watching this episode, I wouldn't miss a thing!

* Cart Before the Ponies - Physics does seem a little extreme for these foals; how old are they anyway? Whoever designed that derby road should be fired, the roads shouldn't intertwine like that. These carts are this racing seems unsafe for schoolage ponies and should have more safety restrictions. A half-day to finish working cars with engines? Not even us apes can do that!

* PPOV - I liked this episode actually! It was funny, and the way Rarity, Pinkie, and AJ thought of one another in their points of view was pretty funny! The only reason this episode makes the "not best" list was the rushed and out of place ending.

The best

* Flutter Brutter - This episode is pretty underrated if you ask me. I know everyone doesn't like Zephyr Breeze, but that's because he was made to be like that. He's SUPPOSED to be a freeloader and stubborn, so if he wasn't, this episode wouldn't exist. It actually had an awesome moral pointed towards people who give up too easily and fear failure towards their goals. This is also Fluttershy's BEST developed episode since Keep Calm and Flutter On! It really showed how far Fluttershy has gone, and she used the morals she learned in her past to help her brother out! Plus we got to meet Fluttershy's family like we wanted!

* Fault in Our Cutie Marks - Now I've been waiting for this type of episode for a long time! A non-pony character trying to get her cutie mark! A griffon no less! And this griffon was absolutely lovable! The way the CMCs felt that this task was impossible, and Scootaloo relating to Gabby, and how they solved the issue was simply amazing! This episode also brought a brand new perspective to Griffons! Gabby is best griffon! :D

* Dungeons and Discords - An episode for just the guy characters! Just three of them unfortunately, but still awesome! What made me really love this episode was the interaction between Spike, Discord, and Big Mac! These three barely, if not never, interact on the show, and the way they played off each other was really something these three characters needed, and not just interacting with the same characters they always interact with!

* Gauntlet of Fire - People say this was Spike's first "good episode", but Spike had OTHER good episodes too way before this; however, this is the first episode Spike lead without being the one to mess up! But I agree that this episode fixed the problems Dragon Quest had; and this episode really bought alot of potential for Spike's character development for the future! He was at his absolute best in here, and Ember is really awesome!  More dragon episodes in the future please! Yunno, this episode could lead to a future episode where Spike finally finds his origins, and Ember would be the one to help him find out what they are!

* Times They Are A Changeling - BEST episode in the season, and best Spike episode by far! The way Spike and Thorax played off each other was awesome, and very unexpecting! The whole moral of this episode, the song, and just everything about it really played off very well! Yes I know changing everypony's minds with the song was a bit unrealistic, but this is Equestria, songs are what turns on the lights when it's dark in Equestria! Not only this, but if this episode didn't happen, To Where and Back Again would've turned out very differently, so basically Spike helped save Equestria!

Some of my favorite

-Saddle Row Review: Well organized, the Mane6 were in character, funny gags. Best episode of the season

-Viva Las Pegasus: Entertaining, good moral, well paced, interesting new douchebag, good visuals, Flutters has shown her previously forgotten development

-Gauntlet of Fiyah: Best Spike episode, ever. That alone should make it a good episode alone due to poor Spykey Wikey's track record. But showing adventure (which abscense started to feel notorious). But Ember is an interesting character. The phisycal comedy, the gags

-To Where and Back Again: While I don't think it was THE strongest plot-wise among saving Equestria from going bonkers, the interactions between the secondary cast sold it

-Flutter Brutter: I don't care what others say about Zephyr. He's a good character because he did the job he was intended to: a manipulative free-loader that wasn't intended to be liked in the first place, until he (deservingly forcefully) sees the error of his ways. Also, Fluttershy FINALLY started to put her development in use after so long

Honorable mentions: The Crystaling, Newbie Dash, Top Bolt, Spice Up You're Life (the "you're" was on purpose  :D ), No Second Prances, A Heart's Warming Tail, The Fault in our Cutie Marks, Dungeons and Discords, The times They are a Changeling, and Buvkball Season (woah, that's many honorable mentions  :o )

Top Worst

1-Applejack;s Day Off

2-Kart Before the Ponies: Like above, but less severe (not saying much)

3-28 Pranks Later: I don;t like seeing character derailment in any part. Ponies even less so

4- Pony Point of View: While the moral was believable, it suffered by slow pacing like the previous two, but it manages to be less boring

5-Every Little Thing she Does: The pacing, and an overall uninteresting episode. Too bad it's a Starlight episode, as she's already struggling to earn the heart of the fandom

PD: I almost posted this here

  • 2 weeks later...

Alrighty, here I go:

Best

  • Saddle Row Review: Simply put, this is one of the most fun episodes in the entire show, let alone season 6. It had wonderful pacing, each character had a chance to shine, the overall setup was great and all in all, I personally think this episode is about as close to perfection as it could get.
  • The Times They Are A Changeling: Not only did we finally get to see a changeling in a positive light in this episode, we got ot see more Spike being amazing, season 6 was basically his, Thorax is really cute and his interaction with Spike was superb.
  • To Where And Back Again: I personally don't like Starlight much at all. Never did. This duo of episodes though did come close to making me like her, which is saying a lot. She was portrayed far better than any episode before that and the other characters were great too, including Discord.
  • A Hearth's Warming Tale: While this story has been told to death by pretty much any show in existence, it was still very fun to see their rendition of it and the music was extremely well done.

Worst

  • Newbie Dash: My least favorite episode in the entire show, bar none. A moment that was built up since episode-fucking-1 of the entire series and this is what we get. Rainbow Dash being treated like shit, her looking like a moron completely negating any and all growth she has had and an ending that was insulting and actually made me despise the Wonderbolts. So after years of hoping one day RD would join the Wonderbolts, now I just wish they didn't even exist. Absolute garbage.
  • Flutter Brutter: Don't get me wrong, this episode does have some good aspects. Seeing the Flutter parents is a real treat and I like them a lot. Fluttershy was alright, I am not overly fond of her being constantly serious but it is what it is. What ruins this entire thing though is the main focal point; Zephyr Breeze. What a piece of trash character. Zephyr is simply your cliche, typical 'lazy character' that also screams of stereotypes. Of course they had to make him be insanely lazy and worthless WHILE living with his parents. Because everyone who lives with their parents is like that I guess. Then we had that extremely forced ending with him doing all sorts of cool stuff and they expect us to root for him. They expect us to cheer for one of the worst characters ever introduced in the show. No thank you. At the end, all I saw was that he was an asshole that could now style hair.
  • Dungeons & Discord: If there is one perfect word to describe this episode, it is disappointing. This could have been an extremely fun idea. Spike, Big Mac and Discord go off on an adventure in a D&D style game? SWEET! Instead, all we got was Discord pissing about with his usual antics with no real progression at all, and then we only get a small glimpse of what the episode could have been right at the end. This is an episode that makes me think Discord actually has a lot of problems if he is in the spotlight.
  • 28 Pranks Later: This one is here simply because it just wasn't fun at all, despite the first half actually being fun for what it was. We get RD and Pinkie doing fun, harmless little pranks and some ponies think 'not everyone wants to be pranked' so what do they do? Scare the ever living shit out of her with something that was actually pretty mean-spirited all things considered, making the other ponies of the town look like dicks. Plus when the whole zombie prank is going on, it just wasn't fun, at all.
  • The Cart Before The Ponies: Perhaps I expected wrong here, but this was another very disappointing episode for me. I love the idea of a cart racing episode within FiM, that is another very fun sounding idea. Like Dungeons & Discords though, the good idea is instead pushed aside and we get the bickering of Rarity, AJ and RD. There was also a very annoying aspect of the episode where those 3 had to constantly hammer into our faces what they wanted their carts to be about. We got it the first time they mentioned it, yet they just had to keep going on and on about it. Also like D&D, we got to see a tiny glimpse of the actual fun at the very end of the episode. Meh.
  • On Your Marks: Now, this is a very personal one here. While I definitely do not think the episode is bad at all, why it makes my worst list is simply because the episode was actually really depressing. It picked up at the end, but seeing the CMC's struggle with finding things to do and then sorta going their own separate ways, that was sad enough, but to see Apple Bloom struggle without her friends made it even worse. The concept brought me down and I could not bring myself back up, even by the end. The episode simply depressed me. I know what they showed was a very realistic thing and does happen in real life, I guess it was just something I didn't expect to see in this show and I really wish it didn't happen. Again, very personal opinion there.
